The thing about blue and green being the most pleasing colors to the eyes was noted by the military when they started making night vision, blue was more pleasing but the eye is more sensitive to shades of green so it was chosen as the color to make the image intensifiers.

The painting featuring George Washington reminds me of Zetterstrand's Minecraft artworks because of how out of place he is

The not knowing what you want hits so close to home. Sometimes you remember a day or a scenario and think "this was really nice", then you repeat it and it feels empty.

Not gonna lie, the sneaker shown right around 9:02 as “These exist!” is declared actually looks awesome. It doesn’t look comfortable; I wouldn’t want to wear it. But as a form study, I’m legitimately impressed.

Been recently watching a lot of your videos. I love it how you always start with a simple concept, then slowly bring up related subjects to finally arrive at almost philosophical questions. Touching genuinely interesting subjects to contemplate about later. Overall quality content and a pleasure to watch.

I've recently made it a habit to listen to my Spotify discover weekly playlist every week. I'll usually find a few songs to add to my playlist, and I've found some of my favourite songs this way. Stepping back, it's kind of depressing that such an important dictator of my emotions is being decided by an algorithm. I still love the music it picks out and I'd never call it soulless, it's just depressing.

People: "What's your favorite color?" Me: "idk, I don't think I have one." *Opens closet filled with shades of blue that haven't even been invented yet*

I really enjoy how you go from one topic to another so organically, and wrap it all together in the end

honestly im super into america's least wanted painting. i dont find the brightly colored assortment of triangles very interesting on their own, but the way the paint is textured really catches my eye. it looks sharp, like it would poke your fingers if you touched it. that and the dark vignette- which adds an ominous air to the work. its like looking at a children's playroom through a dark fog

In regards to the AI building a customer profile part of the video... Was reading a forum post yesterday from a guy who worked for a game company. Their marketing uses your phone to track how you feel when you play a game and knows when to offer an incentive to keep playing, it knows when to scale the difficulty of a bot (disguised as a human player btw), it knows when you take your dog out for a walk and sends you an incentive to play when you get home (eg "free bonus for the next hour only!"), it knows the layout of your house due to imaging from your phone, which means it knows whether you have a bookcase and like to read, a display cabinet for collectibles, how often you use the fridge (which can then track your eating habits), it can use the microphone to pick up what you're doing and where you are and a whole bunchj of other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. Whether it's true or not, I don't know, but the technology to do that certainly exists and where there's temptation...

something I notice more often lately is the algorithm doesn't seem to choose what I want but rather what I will sit through, which doesn't seem to be the same thing.

All of this falls under the category, "I don't know what I want at this moment, but I'll know it when I see it." You stated that a lot of people don't really know what they want and I totally agree with that. I'm one of those people who most of the time just don't know what I want if someone asks me or if I am looking for decor for my house or other things that involve matters of personal taste. I remember the last time I bought all new living room furniture. When I headed to the furniture stores I just didn't know what I wanted exactly. But after i had visited a few stores and looked and told the sales person, "I don't really know what I want, but I'll know it when I see it." I suddenly ran across a living room suite that was exactly what I wanted. I hadn't pictured that furniture in my mind before I saw it, but the moment I saw that suite, I knew I had to have it. I then knew what I wanted and got it right then and there. I know that some people know exactly what they want and will sometimes even special order that exact style/color/look. And if I'm presented with a bunch of carpet or paint swatches, I completely get all overwhelmed and then I REALLY can't decide what I want. There are a lot of things that there are just too many choices to consider. I want simple choices that don't give me too much to think about. So, in that vein, it really doesn't surprise me that certain people went with what most people, including themselves, already know and are famiar with in regard to paintings. It makes sense because we know that we will get good quality pretty much no matter what painting by that artist we acquire.

Really speaks to how broken my brain is that you showed the most wanted painting and I was like "wtf this is weird and bad" and then you showed the least wanted painting and I was like "Yes! Now THIS is art!"

Lol, for the question "My favorite song subject is about:" among the choices given, I'd have to choose "love." However, if it weren't multiple choice, my answer would be "existential themes." Seriously, I've always thought of myself as someone who loves love songs, but when I really thought about what characterized my favorite music... The Oh Hellos' Anemoi Cycle (Notos, Eurus, Boreas, and Zephyrus), which is about a personal journey away from fundamentalism and nationalism, and all the complicated emotion that entails. Darlingside's Extralife, which features multiple perspectives on the end of the world. Saintseneca's Dark Arc, which uses Christian imagery over Buddhist subtext. I did find these artists through the almighty algorithm, but not right away. That is, I found them through a general sound I like, but as for what they're about... These are what stood out among a lot of stuff I was recommended. Actually, at least with The Oh Hellos, that wasn't what was recommended to me from them. I love their other stuff, too, but... Those four EPs are just on an entirely different level, most sophisticated works of song-writing I've ever heard in my life.
