I got the water from Burger King and we had already gone through the security and they still didn't allow my water even if the only way to get water is from the air-port since they would have taken your water at the first check. Made no sense, since they don't sell explosives on the airport, so why bother be so suspicious.
How is Gatwick in but luton isn’t? I once had a flight cancelled at luton, the airports response to the cancellation was to close the customer service desk, barrier off the group of people who should have been on the flight and have armed police petrol in front of us. It took 9 hours to get any answers to any questions at all. When I say at 10am on the Thursday EVERY member of staff disappeared I’m not exaggerating. I took nearly 100 flights last year, London luton is far far worse than Gatwick…
I have not flown since the 2019 pandemic, However as a Londoner I had been using Gatwick (mostly) and other London Airports upto a dozen times a year for decades. And in my experience Gatwick hasn't been a issue. Can only think of once we flew late and never more than 1 hour late returning to London/Gatwick. So what am I saying? 5th worse in the World? If true then Air travel/Airports must be near on brilliant :)
Really, the problem with LAX is the construction. They’re modernizing the entire airport so you just have to go early! LaGuardia had the same issue. Now it’s a beautiful airport. LA has traffic and so does the airport. Other than that, LAX is fine.
There are definitely worse airports than LAX. Several that jump to mind are Port Harcourt, Nigeria; Kabul, Afghanistan; Denpasar-Bali Ngurah Rai Airport, Indonesia.
Not sure I agree with LAX being the worst airport in the world. Granted I haven't been there in 19 years, so maybe things have massively deterioriated since then, but at the time I really enjoyed my flights in and out of Los Angeles. The scenery flying into L.A. is amazing and the journey to/from our rental car perhaps not an easy trek but definitely an adventure with plenty to see along the way. We even bumped into John Schneider (Dukes of Hazard) in one of the terminals and he was nice enough to chat for a few minutes.
As a Peruvian, Lima international airport is one of the worst. It has only one terminal and the new one won't be finished in at least 5 years. Due to only having one terminal it gets too crowded in vacation season
Going through customs at LAX makes me feel like I am talking my way out of going to jail. The customs staff make me feel so uncomfortable with their rude, obnoxious lines of questioning, every single time I travel through. The airport itself is great, but it's ruined by these people.
I think you missed Schipol in Amsterdam. I've lost two connections in that nightmare of an airport. Queue exceeded for more than 2 hours... A total chaos with not enough staff
How is Schiphol a bad airport? I've been to Schiphol and I've had amazing experiences. It was even ranked the 10th best airport in the world for years.
@@jishanborno they reduced their staff months ago and it hasn’t improved due to salary disputes. 4h is a common time to come if u wanna get ur flight. Been like this for months and wont change soon. Nothing to do with the pandemic
IDK why Newark airport gets so much hate. I never had any delays there and customer service has always been good for a airport. JFK however is a different story. I'm baffled how Newark is here but not JFK.
Richard, just to clarify for someone who's, most likely, not familiar with Spanish pronunciation, Bogota has an accent over the 'a', which, unlike French, explains how it's pronounced, which is boh-guh-TAH. However, the Anglicized version is also acceptable--BOH-guh-tah. No charge. 😃 Well done video, by the way.
Frequent traveller here: Flight delays are mainly caused by airport when it’s inefficient eg can’t land planes on time, security queues, baggage delays, ground staff shortage etc Airlines get fined huge fees for not departing on time that’s why they ditch late passengers
And freaken security is after immigration. Don't even have time to shop or eat cuz they keep you waiting precisely two hours before you can even go through.
The only ones I disagree with are Pearson International airport, Kuala Lumpur International airport and Los Angeles International Airport. I've been to all these airports and my experience was amazing. It's probably because of the pandemic these airports went haywire. I've never had a bad experience in an airport like ever. The only bad experiences I've had were long security check lines and even having to rearrange luggages due to having too much in one luggage. I guess it's all luck based when it comes to how good an airport is. Because sometimes an airport can have amazing service and experiences and other times the same airport can have terrible service and experiences. It all depends on the time of year or what's going on in the world.
Crazy to put KL airport on this list. Not only is a great airport, but when flying Air Asia you can check your bags at the central subway station in the city.
It's actually not that great. If you know the airport, ir may be normal for you. But first time flyers into it is not very tourist friendly. There's no clear indications as to where to exit for taxis or Grab. The arrival hall isn't even on level 1 but level 3. Tourists won't know this because elsewhere its always level 1. The employees aren't keen to helping you out either. There's not many seats and who thought it was smart to do security after you get your ticket? 😂you don't even have time to relax and shop before your trip because all the shops are in the terminals after you get your ticket and go through immigration. Once you go through it, you barely have an hour to do anything.
The worst airport is by far Franc List 2 in Budapest. When leaving the country, we suffered the worst possible mistreatment and chauvinism, when the employee recognized that we were from Serbia, she waited for my wife to put the things in the container, ran up while the things were moving, and ordered her to take off the new shoes and put them in the new the dish. She said that it was a thick platform and that there could be a bomb there. We were in shock and didn't have time to react. It was good that we didn't react, they already had an arrest ready. My wife ran 60 meters to the other end and I brought her shoes. Three meters away from us was another employee who watched us closely while we were looking for clean socks to wear over the dirty ones so as not to ruin our new shoes. I will mention that it could only fit a smaller box of matches, 4.5cm x 3cm x 1cm, maybe 5 grams of explosives. Of course, the only sin was that we were from Serbia, which the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy attacked in the First World War and killed 28 percent of the entire population, women and children, and 62 percent of that was the male population. When my wife was getting up, an aggressive hand with a belt appeared and pushed me away and closed access to the chair. Then we escaped the second arrest. That second employee was informed by the first that we are from Serbia. We passed through the fenced area, the belt closed behind us. there was only one passenger in front of us who was examined at passport control in 10 seconds. When it was our turn, the officer was checking something for 4 minutes. Since I am extremely tall, he knew that I was from Serbia. After 4 minutes, when he saw what we were doing, that we didn't have any crime, that we weren't criminally prosecuted and so on, he picked up the folded passports and handed them to the counter. I thanked him, and he looked at me with an endless expression of hatred and put the passports down. Then we felt fear. We were only in a large room. I pretended that everything was fine. I looked "disinterestedly" into the transparent glass, looking back I didn't see anyone behind us. After 8 minutes, since we didn't react, he picked up the passports again. There we avoided the third arrest, since we didn't react. We passed and arrived at our gate, where there were only two other passengers. we logged in to the internet, using our names as they ask for at the airport, and we were there for about 10 minutes. Then the system crashed. we tried to log in again. They kept asking us to log in again. At the gate next to ours, everyone was on the Internet without any problems. We realized that they were making fun of us since they turned off our bus after they found our names and that we shouldn't complain otherwise... the moment we got off the gate there were three of us on the bus. Suddenly after 2 minutes, another 67 Hungarians got off. The bus started quickly, arrived at the ATR-72 plane, we quickly got on board in 5 minutes, and in 5 minutes with the safety procedure, quickly left the runway, quickly took off, so as not to be late, while changing the engine three times sound on takeoff and that was it. The stewardess told us that the plane had been waiting on the runway for 40 minutes without any reason and that they didn't understand anything. What we experienced as Serbs, oh chauvinism, was nothing compared to what the Jews who returned to Jerusalem experienced. Namely, they were in the part of the airport 80 meters apart from the other counters in the part for special harassment. There were closed passages, with strong police forces and a police dog. And there was only a big queue. Until 1944, the population of Budapest had about 23 percent Jewish population, during 3 months, 560 thousand Jews were killed under the chain bridge on the Danube, and most of them were taken to the Auschwitz camp, where they were mostly killed within a few days. That is why they return to their holy places every year, and the Hungarians remind them when they leave that they have nothing to look for in Hungary. So. In its roots, Hungary still lives under the spirit of Nazism and chauvinism. But not everything is so black, says terminal 2a, where their proven friends Lufthansa and others, as well as private planes, have a completely different treatment.
I'm surprised that the other Brussels airport isn't included here... the Zaventem airport isn't all that bad. The Charleroi South Airport is called Brussels Airport too. It is about 1 hour away from Brussels tho, with only shuttle busses that can take you there. They now have paid toilets (1€) and it is very small, sometimes overcrowded, constantly staff on strikes and all stores have opening hours. Lots of delays too.
@@aaronbarrea8922It is probably fine for locals, but it is terrible for International visitors mainly because the staff are generally rude, going through immigration is slow and it feels like they are highly suspicious of tourists wanting to visit your country.
KLIA : i was lost once in the terminal on a layover. I ended up on an exit door to the tarmac without any security alerts. It was mind boggling. MANILA : airconditioning and fans not working is a daily torture. KARACHI : the water dispenser dispensed very dark brown water. BALI : famous for passengers literally and physically running after the planes cos they missed the flights. LAX : avoid at all cost for confusing layout, unfriendly service and bullying tsa agents.
All of you saying that LAX is not that bad, try landing off an international flight as a non-American. Most staff are rude and shout orders out. Immigration is slow for International visitors and you constantly feel under suspicion. Getting a visa to visit the US is cumbersome (even for people from Visa Waiver countries who need an ESTA pre-arrival permit.
In my opinion, LAX is not the worst airport in case I came from Los Angeles, it’s one of the best airports in America. I had fun inside the airport to gar far away from the west to the east to Orlando, Washington, and New York. So it’s not the worst airport.
Thank you for including Toronto Pearson! I’m not picky but I have had so many bad experiences there, I try to avoid it at all cost. I’ve encountered the rudest staff on multiple occasions and only managed to catch one connection in the multiple times I’ve had a connection there. And this is coming from someone who has never complained about any other airport (except the wait time at La Guardia in the evening).
LAX isn't that bad. I'm a local born and raised Angeleno. I also live ten minutes away so I have not had the same experience with being in traffic going to and from the airport and have either taken Lyft ot a cab pr have been picked up or dropped off by family and friends I have flown in and out of it several times, even have ran the length of the horseshoe from terminal 3 to 7 and got to my flight on time (granted the reason I had to run the length of the horseshoe was because I got out of the cab at terminal 3 having forgotten that there wàs was switcharoo after American took over term 3 in 2018). Over the Last 7 to 8+ years, there's been a lot of improvements ( 100s millions of $) made to the airport including a people mover that will connect to the new Crenshaw LAX llight rail line that'll be open in the next few years on te for the 2028 summer Olympics. The Crenshaw LAX llight rail line just opened in October.
LAX is the only major airport in southern California that can Carry the bulk of international arrivals. Yes, Ontario, Long Beach, Burbank and John Wayne all offer flights to Mexico and the Caribbean and are smaller airports compared to LAX, but most like Ontario and John Wayne (in Santa Ana in Orange county) are the furthest out compared to Burbank and Long Beach.
@@danielleporter1829 not just lax. Brussels is the only major airport in belgium and dulles is the only major airport in washington dc for international. Bogota is also the only major airport in the bogota area
