Oliver Reed
Robert Oliver Reed, an English actor, was noted for his alcoholism and excessive drinking. There are numerous examples, such as Reed and 36 pals consuming 60 gallons of beer, 32 bottles of scotch, 17 bottles of gin, four crates of wine, and a bottle of Baby cham in one evening. Reed later changed his narrative, claiming he consumed 106 pints of beer in a two-day spree before marrying Josephine Burge. Reed became a close buddy and drinking partner of “The Who's” drummer Keith Moon in 1974, while working on the film adaptation of Tommy. Reed and Moon shared many similarities due to their irresponsible lifestyles. Reed was frequently unhappy that his appearances on television talk shows focused on his drinking exploits rather than his acting career and recent flicks. In 1995, he had a cameo appearance as Mordechai Fingers in Renny Harlin's Cutthroat Island. He was fired and replaced by British character actor George Murcell after arriving extremely intoxicated on set, having already been in trouble for a bar fight, and attempting to "expose himself" to main actress Geena Davis. Reed was a frequent at the one-roomed O'Brien's Bar in Churchtown, County Cork, near the 13thcentury graveyard in the center of the hamlet where he would eventually be buried.
Peter O'Toole
Peter O'Toole was an English theatrical and screen actor. In the late 1970s, O'Toole nearly died from a severe illness. His stomach cancer was misdiagnosed due to his excessive alcohol consumption. O'Toole had surgery in 1976 to remove his pancreas and a big piece of his stomach, resulting in insulin-dependent diabetes. In 1978, he came close to death due to a blood disease. He eventually recovered and went back to work. O'Toole withdrew from acting in July 2012 after a recurrence of stomach cancer. He died on December 14, 2013, at the Wellington Hospital in St John's Wood, London, at the age of 81. His relatives intended to carry out his desires by transferring his ashes to the west of Ireland.
