Here in the Netherlands all boats that go faster than 20kmh or are longer than 20meters need to be registered and get a license plate number on both sides (painted/stickers to a certain minimum size). If this were to happen here the police could charge them based on the video. This guy definitely needs to be talked to by law enforcement. Or suspended license for a while.

Probably not an actual licensed captain. You didn't need a captains license to operate a private vessel in Florida. He should be charged by the Coast Guard for recklessly endangering those kids though.

Disagree... I did that all the time as a kid and teen... never a problem as long as you are holding on. Plus you can't charge someone based upon what ***might happen*** but based upon what DID HAPPEN

I am i licensed Captain, 100 ton Master, and an embalmer with over 40 years experience. I have unfortunately seen first hand what happens when a child falls off a bow and is sucked into a propeller. PLEASE, Never let kids ride on the bow of a power boat!!!!!!!

WOW!😮The poor kid at the bow was technically overboard briefly! He was lucky to have been pulled back aboard rather than run over and very likely injured or killed by the propellor and the Krazy Kaptain couldn’t avoid it at that point! 😢

I think the Pardo boat is a prime example of form over function. It is stylish, but the bow doesn't seem to have enough volume or flare.

actually the design is from sailing yatchs ..probably not fit for purpose going those these inlets at high speed, but it looks like they held their own ..and very stable

People should be heavily reprimanded for the children. About the Pardo design, looks innovative. It being tall and shaped to where the water sprays out rather than up and in the boat. Well thought-out design.😎

@@TxChristopher till you do... they got lucky. and i dont care how strong you think you are a swimer you cant swim if your not alert and aware all it takes is hitting your head on way over board and your done. i used to do long distance open water swimming when i was younger and ALWAYS had PFD on in a boat. its just like a seat belt in your car

With all the videos from Wavy or others showing negligent or seriously unsafe boats leaving the channel, it would seem that you could place a "boat cop" of any enforcement agency at the right spot and have a conversation with any cap of observed safety issues before heading into the surf. They'd be busy all day. Then no one would be in the position of having charges or loss of life. That cap would never have been able to avoid the kids with his props. I've seen it up close and it's an awful sight.

Growing up on the Great Lakes this is absolutely stupid! As a young man we watched as some kids were doing exactly the same thing heading out of a channel into Lake Michigan. One boy fell off the front and sadly he found the propellers and was killed instantly. This guy should be charged!

Regarding the hull design, I like the water being sprayed up and away from the boat. Normally I would go for a sexier boat but this one appears to do what we all want and that is to enjoy our boats whenever possible and to be safe.

Anyone boaters here that haven't done a "man overboard" scenario, do one. I think the first thing to be done, pick a day with a chop or 1-3' waves, and the sun a bit low on the horizon. Toss a basketball overboard over your shoulder wait 3 or 4 seconds and then try to point to it. (underway).

Kids are not only in danger of falling off to the sea, but spine injury from hitting their butts on the deck is also super real. I loved riding the bow of dads boat too, but after one bad landing i figured its not worth risking spinal injury

Even my parents, who let us do plenty that have people today shrieking in horror, didn't let us do this. However I will say that when we went sailing in the bay and were under way under sail with no motor in the water, we'd sometimes sneak over to the low side and hang our legs off. They always caught us though because it caused a ton of drag, and screamed at us pretty good. We also always had to wear life jackets even though we'd all learned to swim in the bay and Gulf of Mexico practically before we could walk. This was also in the 80s.

The Pardo boat looks like it has Cybertruck influence… And besides that, the bow is so low that it kept digging into the water on the waves. A normal bow wouldn’t do that like it did.
