Speaking of rhino wong, a friend of mine had a "Galactus at home" deck where he would fish for worldship by trying to set up Wong, Mystique, Scarlett Witch, Odin on a location. He got it to work once
Adam Warlock was still decent at 2/0 in some decks and I made it to infinite with him a couple of times. Making him a 5 cost is what actually made him completely useless.
yes it was horrible, I too ran him in a Guardians deck, where he worked great as a pressure tool, most opponents played in his lane but lost to the Guardians so I got the draw, and if they don't play there, I still got the draw. He helped so much with the consistency of that deck because to get all twelve cards drawn was essential. In what deck did you play him?
I think Rhino could be cool if it created a Ruins everytime it moved to a location. It would fit the Spider-Man movement sub theme and it’s like he’s destroying things as he moves there which would be thematic.
Elektra 1/1: Activate: destroy a random 1 cost card on the enemies side. The new activate mechanic would allow you to play her down on turn 1, wait for them to play a 1 cost, activate her, and then destroy their 1 cost the following turn.
I saw one thing that could make Hydra bob a bit better on reddit. Instead of moving on Snap he works as a reverse cannonball. He moves to a location if he was going to be destroyed so he's always escaping death but if he can't move anywhere he is destroyed cause his luck ran out and then he can be played in destroy decks with deadpool
hydra bob was a constant recurring character in the deadpool comics i read as a kid i was so happy to see him get added to this game i think im the only person who knew who he was though 😂
My favorite “didn’t check the card count” story: Arishem randomly gave me Deadpool and Carnage in my starting hand. With nothing better to do turns 1 and 2 I played them out… and my opponent retreated!
I don't like Attuma because Cull Obsidian and Crossbones have the same stats and feel easier to manage because you have to have a certain card or be winning, but won't be destroyed. They also work well with War Machine, but Attuma requires you to sacrifice ANOTHER card in your deck just to play Armor or something as well. Just not worth it at all in my experience
The Gwenpool Panther deck Cozy mentioned is almost exactly what I played. I had so much stinking fun. I included Galactus in the deck. I loved crushing my opponents with 10+ power Galactus. In one game, I had a 21 power Galactus that crushed my opponents poor Thor and Chavez.
Here's a random Rhino idea for you guys. "Destroys a location. Every turn moves to the right and repeats the effect again if possible." Gives him a new home, gives us a right moving card, gives him flavor of just rushing through everything...
25:37 The BEST location changer is Magik! She's in EVERY deck I have, because she changes the location without it being random and messing you up, AND you get an extra turn which helps a ton!
You think it would be balanced in they changed Wiccan’s text to: On Reveal: If you've spent all your Energy this game, +2 Max Energy and Draw 2 cards. 🤷♂️ Because his condition is hard to complete and Quicksilver and Domino take up draw space.
@7:23 I'm willing to bet the numbers are skewed towards Areshim is because people just put her in for weekend missions. I mostly think that because what I did was put her in Areshim because I didn't care about playing gwenpool enough to dedicate time to a deck that really uses her so I just threw it in Areshim so I can play that and if I draw gwenpool, it really doesn't matter, it could have just as easily been a randomly generated card for all I cared. I just wanted the mission done. In saying all that I see how that kind of goes against the purpose of the weekend missions since they're point is to incentivize playing the new card, but nevertheless it made the weekend missions fast for me
Mailbag: I was just just practicing on proving grounds and went for 8 cubes and lost. Afterwards I was thinking about how I could help my opponent out with their daily missions and such. I propose an emote chain (I.e. spidey followed by fists) to indicate to my opponent that I will play another round in hopes of helping them farm missions. Essentially the sign would mean "hey I'm going to skip all my turns so if you need to 'win a location with 1 card or 4 cards' go ahead and do it, I'm just trying to help."
Mailbag: Hey Alex & Cozy! Love the podcast! What do you guys think about a new card mechanic that, at the start of the game, increases your hand space to 10 cards and let's you draw 2 cards per turn? Arishem combo idea
An idea I had, in lieu of the "activate" effects coming into the game, what if they introduced "target" effects where you could choose the card? I would say bring her down to a 1/1 to compensate for the active choice. In the same breath you could use that to "nerf" Shang and force him to target only 1 card, not every card in a lane? (Though I don't think a nerf to him is a good idea but people have been talking about him a lot with everyone playing Blob/Darkhawk recently)
I've said it elsewhere. In keeping with Kangs time travel abilities, change his effect to "resets every card in play to their original state". Maybe make him only.playable before turn 6 or something like that.

Mr Fantastic could be 3/1 add +3 each. It’s only a 1 point buff overall, but lets him synergize with Ravona and actually contest Jeff in unreachable locations.
I randomly got Hydra Bob from Arishem and tried him but he didn't move because I already snapped and it was at max. I thought he would move each turn if someone snapped during the whole game. I thought he would at least randomly move for some variety
Sabertooth's main problem is that he costs 3. You do not want to play a 3 cost card that does nothing in Destroy. It's a Stalled Turn. Rescue was great when Zabu worked. Because I'd play Regi's anti-Shang deck and play Rescue on 3 and then Jessica Jones on her on 4. Rhino is one of those cards that slots great into C3 because he can get rid of locations that change the power value of your cards.
For Rhino I think adding a rock to your opponents location on top of it destroying the location would be interesting. The flavor being rubble flying from the ruined location into your opponents lane
One card that got forgotten and one of my favorites is Wolfsbane. Her and Sage are two of my favorite X-Men characters but I can’t think of one use for Wolfsbane over Sage
For Sabertooth, I would add discard to his ability. Both X-23 and Wolverine can work in both Destroy and Discard, but we all know that Destroy is where they really shine. Discard could be that for Sabertooth; he could exist in both, but I think he'd really do well in discard.
Maybe the fix for Adam is to make it like he’s in an Arishem deck. 4/5, when you’re winning the lane, 50% chance to draw a card from your deck, the other 50% the card is random.
I would like Angel to be 'When this card is destroyed replace it with Archangel'. And then Arcangel's text would be 'When this card is ressurrected destroy one other card at this location if possible'.
If we have Black Sawn at 3/5 and no negative than Rhino at 3/5 and no ability change should be fair game. Edit: I think him not being played is a major issue for Second Dinner... He's arguably the card with the worst variants as his default card is his best version.

Idea for Angel and White Queen: Angel: When one of your cards is destroyed, this flies out of you hand or deck to replace it. If this card is destroyed, it becomes Archangel +3 power White Queen, On Reveal: Copy the highest cost card in your opponent's hand into you hand. That card cannot be destroyed.
They should just add a blitz mode for people whose attention spans are this degraded. Snap matches are like 5 minutes and thinking about your move is best practice.
Using gwenpool in my surfer deck it made me try using zabu and that’s been doing well for me. If I don’t have brood and have Wong zabu and gwen. It’s been a nice turn 2 zabu and either just gwen on turn 3 or set up Wong.
Mr. Fantastic should give stay a 3/2 and give the adjacent locations +3. He's still a 3/8 and he doesn't mess up the only deck that really uses him, which is C2. Daken making the shard 0 energy means that you can't play Killmonger to destroy it. That's a problem. Making him a 3/5 that can be boosted to 3/10 is a better idea. It makes him worth playing then. Rescue could be like a America Chavez on board. Her on reveal could be "give the next card played here +4." This would encourage people to play Iron Man in Rescue's lane and she could buff other cards that need buffs.
I would kill for an Emma Frost buff. Her variants are amazing, she's such an amazing character in comics, and like you said she's easy to buff. I think plus stats to the card she pulls and/or buffs to herself would be great or even a cost reduction. I know 3 costs are competitive but I think it'd be better for her archetype at least.
The Gwenpool autodeck is an Arishem list, people probably tried their own brews, couldn't get them to work and pivoted to the autodeck. That's what I did at least 😅
White Queen buff could be: copy the highest cost card in your opponent's hand into your hand. GIVE IT -1 COST. Daken could easily be 3/5. Sabertooth could be 2/3.
Idea for Rescue: 4/2- If you play a card at this location next turn, give all cards here +2 power. Low roll - 4/6 worth of stats High roll - 4/10 worth of stats
I'm pretty sure they started conceptualizing the Activate mechanic after Kitty Pryde turned out to be broken on release, so I have good money on her becoming an Activate card.
Looking at Adam Warlock's variant with the infinity gauntlet gave me an idea. How about they give him an effect similar to Nico where he rotates between stone powers while in your hand. Not the new stones though lol
Kang buff 3/0 "on reveal: create a copy of the last card you drew. gain power equal to that cards cost." time theater effect. card would work well with cards that get reductions that you'd want multiple of (mockingbird, sasquatch, death, shehulk) as well as combo style cards you'd want doubles of (surfer, sage, venom) warlock buff 4/1 "After each turn, draw a card if you’re winning here. after drawing a card, this gains +1 power." this give warlock synergy with the infinity stone as well as making crystal more playable.
Mailbag: Do you ever see Snap taking the cards that are almost never played "garbage cards" and removing their text to be able to be used in a high evo deck? I feel like that would be a good way to buff cards or rework cards and get them possibly back into the meta.
I propose they make Adam Warlock a 0/0 with the same ability, only that his power cannot be increased or reduced. He is a stagnant 0 at a location, but would feel good to play at any turn and gives the player a chance to build power around a single location.
I am here to tell you that the boogeyman and 3 blobs do exist. In fact I've hit 5 poor souls with the 3 blob drop. Still feels weird that mystique copies blob but her an absorbing man can make dreams become reality.

I was really surprised that Namor wasn’t on your list of bad cards. As far as copium goes, I’ve tried most combos with him and it just hasn’t been the best. I’m still holding on to hope that they rework him in some way and don’t let him rot in “early game experience” hell. Not even mentioning that junk decks have become more legit in these times. Stand alone cards like Namor and Orka rarely have a chance or have useless abilities now. As far as character lores, Namor was one of the first super heroes, first mutant, has beat the hulk and avengers solo. Part of the Illuminati and one of the phoenix force. …damn shame.
I really like Gwenpool. She's an effective 4/12 in any decklist providing she hits cards you intend to use, boosted exponentially by Shaw/Brood/Abs Man etc. And even though your following plays might be predictable/telegraphed, she creates unpredictability around how much Power you're about to throw down. 3/2 Surfer? Pfft. 3/6 Surfer? Well that could flip the location. The only thing I dislike is that she has literally zero synergy with Deadpool lol. You want to be destroying Deadpool every turn (if able) and doubling his power. Not giving him the *chance* at a measly +2 or +4 in an already extremely tight Destroy decklist. If only she was 2/3 or so.
I had such bad luck with Gwenpool. It's surprisingly hard to get the hand size down, and even then it'll hit the wrong card anyway. Three different games, I had 4/7 Shuri. Other times, I had a hard time getting all of the cards down that she buffed. It has potential, but honestly the RNG is killer. I think I actually prefer Ironheart because it is guaranteed to hit three cards already in play.
I’ve actually found that Adam warlock works pretty well in my Arishem deck! Especially when I’m trying to draw a really good card or buff my devil Dino
