If I had a dollar for every time he said he wasn’t going to include Lego Star Wars 1 or lego Star Wars 2 because we have the complete saga, I would have like 15 dollars
The character class system in The Skywalker Saga REALLY does a disservice to the game. Instead of having fun side characters that have unique animations/abilities, they opted to have them do nothing. We get a weird world where Tusken Raiders can fly, but not Jango Fett. You can't see Grievous' holster animation because as a villain, he has to throw bombs. And The Emperor can't shoot lightning because he has to conform to other sith characters. Oy vey.
“Unlucky Bystander” is a reference to The Lost World. The movie’s script writer David Koepp made a cameo in the movie as a guy who gets eaten during the San Diego chase and in the credits he’s credited as “Unlucky Bastard”. So Lego made it more G rated by calling him “Unlucky Bystander”.
Fun fact: the drummer from Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire was played by Phil Selway of Radiohead, and his character in the Lego game is made to look like him. Maybe the Lego team has some Radiohead fans; either way it’s a cool detail to include
Absorbing Man is especially disappointing because in the comics his power was changing his skins material from what he touches, that could've been really cool with him changing depending on environment. Like, if you are on the ground you could turn into dirt or concrete, if you're on ice it could be ice, etc
@@shcdemolisher I dunno, just check the texture you're touching and replace the character's skin texture with it. If the textures have IDs or something you could use that to discern what special characteristics you would obtain from a table. Would that work?
I appreciate the diversity and decision to make characters like Fedora and Yeti the worst characters instead of just goons. What's the point in watching a ranking video if the decisions are obviously just the goons. Plus shines light on characters most people forgot even existed.
i think you asnwered your own question, its because "people forgot they existed" when something plays exactly the same as a goon, but isnt as iconic, theyre worse, cus we at least remember the goons, know what i mean?
Imagine a "Lego Collection" game where every lego game got remastered and combined into one giant roster. In the process they could condense some character slots as different sub-choices. Even making a "Definitive" Design for each character
@@GrandAdmiralGonk yeah but the hub worlds :pp and actual voice lines and whatnot. DC super villains is so far the best character customizer forsure right now tho.
Indiana Jones didn’t grow up with ‘Fedora’ he just stole the cross from him so he could put it in a museum but ‘Fedora’s’ boss called the police first and Indy had to give the cross back but ‘Fedora’ liked Indy and gave him his hat
18:40 The reason he's called " Unlucky Bystander" is because in the Jurassic community people call him "Unlucky Bastard" Edit: Also, the reason he's called unlucky bastard is because he's the only guy that died during the T Rex in San Diego scene
7:25 The Qui Gonn Jinn character is based off of the 2007 LEGO Star Wars set 'Republic Cruiser', not TCS. That was pretty much the case with all of those minifigures (including Darth Vader (Battle Damage)) and that Qui-Gon was the most recent one released up until that point.
Really thought you’d have Wandering Wookie for TSS. Having to explore every nook and cranny for the wookie to finally unlock the character and they end up being just an ordinary wookie with no special abilities. Was really disappointed when I unlocked Wandering Wookie ngl
It’s not that hard to find them when you click on the mission in the holoprojecter it shows you the area it’s in and it always has a info bubble in the mini map
Its not difficult if you track the quest. But I fully agree with ya, but it does fall under the Scoundrel class, which means it can do the Scoundrel missions and the purple blaster mini game
At this point I don't know if I'm watching for the nostalgia or the entertainment value. You don't understand how hard childhood me was screaming when he mentioned Absorbing Man. I saw him in a bunch of Avengers cartoons and thought he was a really cool character. I was so dissapointed when I unlocked him and he was just a regular guy with a ball in the lego games.
Honestly, Tia Dalma had so much potential… she is the freakin sea goddess herself! CALYPSO! But atleast Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life did her justice in making her cool since At World’s End
Just a side note, Fedora isn’t the leader of a gang Indy is in, Indy thwarts him but Fedora beats him and admires his tenacity and gives him the fedora
Absorbing man feels like a character that was going to have his admittedly interesting powers implemented but they ran out of time and just sent him out with a semi-unqiue weapon
Honestly the one that disappointed me the most was the atom in Lego Batman 3. But that's mostly because of poor design choice more than anything. You unlock the red brick for mini characters literally at the beginning of the game making him entirely useless, and even then the level of effort you need just to get one ability is just kinda sad.
I actually disagree with your choice of Kathleen Kennedy, she has the most amazing ability in all of LEGO history, she has the ability to make no one like her.
6:33 I would say that blue jacket Harry Potter is worse because he literally can’t do anything just roll into stuff which is super useful in a game that requires you to use spells
The unlucky bystander was one of several people that got eaten by the Bull T-Rex. During the San Diego sequence of The Lost World Jurassic Park... he was the guy who was trying to escape from the Rex by going into Blockbuster but.. ultimately was eaten.
Aunt May? She takes forever to unlock and she acts the exact same as absorbing man but without his range Aunt May needs for you to unlock Deadpool first which you need to get 200 gold bricks and the Deadpool bricks and after unlocking Deadpool do all of his missions to unlock Aunt May
As someone who's only played the DS games, it's weird seeing all the characters in each game. Lord of the Rings especially! EDIT: Wait, SWAPPABLE EQUIPMENT?! WHAT? This is SO different to almost every character being nearly identical "man with a sword".
You know what would've been funny? If Chancellor Palpatine was only useless in story mode and any other time you play as him, he's the Palpatine we all know and love
Anyone else spend multiple real life hours as a kid desperately trying in vain to enter the main area of the park as a dinosaur in LEGO Jurassic World? I’m really disappointed that they made it impossible for you to freely rampage in the game about rampaging dinosaurs.
I disagree with Kiteman as he is a really good character. If you watched Harley Quinn show you know what I am talking about. I mean you right that he can only glide but especially his glider is unique to him and he is a D-lister so he is supposed to be just a funny guy running around with a kite and I think they have captured that foolishness brilliantly.
25:29 How dare you put Kiteman as the worst character! He is the literal personification of great character design! He is a god amongst men and beloved by all! Kiteman, hell yeah!
no hating on scales or kite man, scales was very important on the first season of ninjago as the first snake and anyone who has seen the animated harley quinn show knows why kite man is a legend
the acu trooper at least had the electricity ability, which did prove useful for people who didn't have jay or anyone else with that ability. by far the worst dimensions character was marty mcfly, because he only had the ability to shatter glass with his guitar, and literally nothing else.
A brilliant video, love the content. For me the worst character across the Marvel games is either Squirrel Girl or Aunt May, but I do agree with Absorbing Man.
Hey, you back off of Doreen! She's called "Unbeatable" for a reason, and that reason being she won battles against Doctor Doom and Thanos... just by swarming them with squirrels. Best Girl #2, after Kamala.
For me, the worst characters in Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga (to play as) are the protocol droids, they're so damn slow and can't do anything except for using certain terminals and look funny when you damage them enough, they can't jump, they can't run, they can't fight, and they can't build, they're just cannon fodder, at least Chancellor Palpatine can jump and run
I disagree on the pirates one, mostly because cotton has no use as a character, really. It's just a personal thing but I find the sword to be less useful because combat and the sword switches are less common in the game than the double jumps and the acrobatic stuff. I'm not even 100% sure if cotton even has a sword, to be honest with you. I just know he has no other abilities whatsoever
Yea that's true but cotton has a pet bird which no other character has in the game im pretty sure. He's also deaf and mute in the movies. Also I remember a few funny scenes from cutscenes with him and he is used in alot more levels then her.
The problem with the Pirates one is that it’s heavily based off of what version you play. In the DS version Tia Dalma has the mystic ability that makes her much more useful there than in the version seen here
Cotton has no weapon You're right, cotton is the worst. Basically all the women are better mobility wise Just imagine pitting cotton and blackbeard against each other in the game
I thought getting Dumbledore was the most disappointing character in Harry Potter 1-4. I spent sooo long saving up for him to find out he had no cool special powers he was so not worth it
The unlucky bystander in Lego Jurassic world is a guy who gets eaten by the trex during the San Diego street scene in the lost world movie and the mini figure is based off the guy so yeah that’s why it’s called unlucky 😂
18:57 He’s called the Unlucky Bystander because in Jurassic Park: The Lost World, he ends up getting eaten by the T-Rex in L.A. after it rampages through the street.
Least favorite character is boba fett from The Skywalker Saga. His blasters don’t sound like they do in the movie! Also his jettpack lasts about 2 seconds.
Ive started to dislike John Williams Superman theme because Superman’s flying is so atrociously annoying to use, and I’ve started to associate the music with my frustration
In Lego Batman 2 Superman's flying controls were awesome. I would just fly around not doing anything because it was so much fun flying and listening to the theme song. Then they ruined flying with Lego Marvel and Lego Batman 3
@@joevictor53 Lego Batman’s controls were awful. You go 20 feet close to a wall, t turned you around instantly. Made those gold brick challenges where you have to melt the gold caps on the back of Lego statue heads nearly impossible. The flight challenges were even worse. I don’t replay Lego Batman 2 simply because the flying controls were hot garbage. Lego marvel and Lego Batman 3 improved them so much it’s ridiculous. They also took out the unnecessary cursor that provided absolutely nothing and just ruined the atmosphere of flying
@@adik7192 wow never heard anyone call the downgraded controls in Lego Marvel and Batman 3 an improvement. Point in the direction you want to fly makes way more sense than one Button to go up, one to go down
@@joevictor53 searching up “Lego Batman 2 flying controls” only brings up results of people absolutely hating the Lego Batman 2 flying controls. Searching up the same for LMS shows people trying to actually learn how to fly better. Yes legomarvel superheroes didn’t have the best flying controls, but it was miles ahead of LB2. Also, the flying controls are the exact same in LMS, but the aim is a lot more sensitive and collision detection doesn’t turn you around, making it a 100x better
Actually, Gargoyle had got a big role in Incredible Hulk animated series and appeared often there. You see, Marvel Universe is not just live-action movies.
I have only played the DS Batman game, Lego city, Lego Star Wars 3 and Skywalker saga but this channel is still so entertaining for me. Oh and Lego movie game, which was really good.
@@ruggedeagle tbh I don’t think she “ruined Star Wars” at all honestly but that’s just my opinion 😅 plus isn’t she a director for a reason but game wise they probably could’ve gave her SOMETHING! Like maybe have the ability to boss people around like leia or wicket
The reason ths unlucky bystander is named that, is because in the lost world, he's the guy who is eaten by the Buck T-rex in San Diego, and in the credits, he's credited as "unlucky bastard"
I remember in marvel superheros i figured out how to bug out the characters using the elavator, and could actually play as one of the default civilians for a while.
You know what would be cool? Battle of the heroes playing everytime you get both obi wan kenobi from episode 3 and dark side anakin. It Would have made a great addition to the skywalker saga.
So small oversight with your critique of the Indian jones 2 worst character, you said this was based off how much effort you had to put in even though you get the crystal skull variant for free unlike the pervious entries and it’s also there to go with the movie timeline
I find it hilarious that Kathleen Kennedy was in Force awakens. I find it even funnier that you ranked her as the worst in that game. (We miss George Lucas)
I feel like the worst character in Lego DC Super Villains is the Ventriloquist. He only has one ability (excluding photo mode), yet he's 500,000 studs to get. Besides unique animations, there's nothing else interesting about him.
Captain Barbossa is such a disappointing character in Lego POTC, arguably the worst. Nearly everyone has a sword, but he’s the VILLAIN of the first movie, in every single movie, and all he gets is a sword?! He should have something relating to his curse, or an additional ability, or something
If they wanted to be more accurate with Kathleen in LSW: TFA, they could have just made it that every time you play as her, the game crashes, in reference to how because of her, Star Wars is dead.
You’re absolutely right about the planets in Beyond Gotham. Like we look at how cohesive, well thought out, expansive, and full of fun content Gotham was in Lego Batman 2, and then we look at these tiny little planets. I mean you can walk across the planets in no time at all, they’re cool but they don’t feel engaging or fun or even all that interesting. I like the game for what it is, I like the character roster, but I think it sits at just a C tier when compared to other lego games. It was fun, but nothing special, especially when compared to its two AMAZING predecessors.
@@joevictor53 Honestly 2 is probably my favorite lego game. Everything from level design, exploration, character roster, challenges, secrets, and story to the way it implemented voice acting without losing the lego charm was incredible and the game was the perfect sequel. I had a ton of fun playing it and it made major strides in advancing the lego formula without losing the charm that makes these games so damn good. 3 felt like a step down from that in so many ways, which is so unfortunate given the character roster and the potential it had.
Actually Kathleen Kennedy’s LSW:TFA character is representational of her irl counterpart. She can destroy things with thermal detonators, representing the way she destroyed the Star Wars franchise
Quotes from the characters "Do it" "Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory" "Roaaaar" "Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory" "*badumb chhhhh*" "He's the chosen one" "Hey" "Hi "You ruined my make up "FOR GONDAR" "Diggy diggy hole" "Eat this" "Ok he will be with you in a minute" "I CAUGHT ONE" "ok boss" "Is that a dinosaur?" 24:24 I'm laughing so hard rn. 😂 I haven't played it yet so this is my first time hearing it. That's such a weird and random ability for him to have, and it's absolutely hilarious.
To this day, it still blows my mind that Lego Avengers had that many characters in it but somehow didn't include Spider-Man at launch. I don't care if he was DLC, he should've been a launch character. He's too iconic to lock behind a second paywall.
@@joevictor53 messy negotiations? Marvel already owned all of them at the time dog, unless you can produce some proof about any of this, it's all bullshit. I've been a marvel fan for decades and have closely followed MCU production backgrounds and never once heard of these, but I will personally apologize and admit I'm wrong if you can put your money where your mouth is and made me look like a moron. Ironically, the only character mentioned this conversation who is in negotiations to join the MCU in 2015 was, wouldn't you know it, Spider-Man! His appearance in Civil War was announced in February of that year.
Bro, compared to what he can do in the comics, the LEGO variation is a downgrade. For context, he started out as a Thor villain, having been granted powers by Loki to absorb any material he touches, with that material then changing his skin.
