i think every DAW should have a suscription plan just to test it without limitations and decide on it! I payed on Studio One but i didn't like you have to drag over the time bar to navigate in piano roll and track edition! That's too much uncomfortable, i love how cubase, FL and Ableton let you drag your mouse too move the view port! That's a time saver for noobies keyboard players like me! hehe

Hi. the algorithm was so merciful to you 😁(that's how I found your video). I am a very amateur music producer. Well, to be signed by a small, medium, or major label has it advantages (the ones you mentioned). The unadvantages are the mentioned by independent and famous artists: - Forever 80% for the label and 20% for you - They steal your money at your back like happened to Chamillionaire who lost about 600 million dollars. - They force you to go under surgery to look forever young - A lot of shows in a year (like happened to Billie Eillish that she ended up so badly burnt (the "burnout" syndrome)). - Etc.
@musicbyplv
@musicbyplv 27 дней назад
Hahaha thank you algorithm 😂🙏🏻 For your other points, I've rarely seen 80/20 for labels, most of the time is 60/40 or 50/50, so not that bad ^^
@ER-sb3zt
@ER-sb3zt 22 дня назад
@@musicbyplv I forgot to add the following: A lot of artists received an advance (up to $1 million or may more). Anyone could think that it is an advance of your royalties; and no, it is a loan that the artist has to pay from his or her 20% and not being paid from the 80% (the label). When you apply for loan at the bank, you buy your house; and then, you have to pay the loan to the bank in approximately 25 years (it is just an example of time). After you pay all the loan, the house is yours (100%). Now, in the music industry, it doesn't work like that. You pay all the advance to the label but your song (you being the author of the song) will never be yours (that is high treason and cheating by the record company; and that's why (and by other reasons) that the labels are super trillionaires).

I mean, when you hear that 4Tet - the guy who closed Coachella with Srkillex and FredAgain - just works with stock sounds, puts things in perspective. Capitalism lays the bottomless money trap for music makers, whereas before you really had many physical limitations helping clamp down on your spending.

FL Studio is a great DAW for some things. The piano roll is the GOAT. I think you just need to spend more time with it. Pro Tip: You are not confined to using just one DAW. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I use six and just bounce out MIDI and audio.

I think that when you are starting out the only investment that is really worth it is the interface. I wouldn't invest in courses and libraries because I've noticed that many end up sounding the same because of that. The best thing is to have fun developing your own sound, luckily for me when I was young there were no courses or libraries and I was also poor 😂😂😂
@musicbyplv
@musicbyplv Месяц назад
Mmmh that's an interesting opinion! Never thought about it this way 🤔 If you're into sound design, I think definitely yes! But as a beginner producer, it's going to make your life harder, it's satisfying to finish your first songs ^^
@BeatzByLT
@BeatzByLT Месяц назад
@@musicbyplv I agree, as a beginner I would say the key is to dominate at least one DAW and know the basic major and minor scales, creativity will do the rest, the down side is when you learn too much technical stuff the creativity goes down because the mind tends to operate more logically at that point instead of creative
