Dominos is absolutely terrible in the UK. usually manned by belligerent teenagers that somehow manage to fuck up a pizza every time, and its a total rip off. near on £30 for two people it's insane. I always go for the best local alternative and thankfully I have one that is leagues better than dominos and cheaper.

I work at domino's and I swear I gave our owner the dumbest look of my life when she brought in the marketing material for these. I asked her why a pizza place is selling tater tots, not even as a side or something they're like presenting them as a meal, and she just shrugged. They could at least get good tots, these are so bland. Sales for them dropped pretty quick lol.

Wish our store sold less of them, I swear its all they order before closing. Started bringing a can of chili to work to make chili cheese tots because its the only way they taste good. I think we sell enough side items as is to be adding yet another one. Wish we could get rid of the specialty chicken, it hardly sells and the boneless chicken taste awful.

As an above store dominos supervisor, I had no faith in these when they introduced them to us. It's literally the only item I've never tried from dominos in the 17 years I've worked for them. I give them 9 months before they either change the tot recipe/distributor or pull them.

As a former employee, their whole thought process when coming up with new menu items is "What can we slap pizza toppings on and charge $8 for?". The issue there is the toppings were never that good to begin with, and I highly doubt they went with good quality tots. Still not as bad as Papa John's putting actual pizza toppings in a dish and selling it though

When people start to notice how much base ingredients are costing them at the supermarket... 8 bucks for "cheesy potatoes" is gonna look like a discount. Garlic seasoning is up 300% eggs are up 200% salted name brand seasonings are up 250% milk based condiments like sour cream and butter are up 400% Most herbs are up 600% A typical shopper buying 3 or 4 dollars in seasonings will notice that the cost is now 8 to 9 dollars cent over cent. The manufacturers are studying the numbers faster than they can be produced at this point.

I got that exact same thing a week ago and I will say it looked nothing like the one you showed in this video. It was topped with a garlic parmesan sauce with lots of bacon bits in it on top of warm melted cheddar cheese. The tots were crispy and juicy on the inside and the toppings were a great addition for tons of flavor. Just goes to show how much comes down to preparation from the employees!

I used to work at Domino's and this seems to be a very unusual addition to their menu (apart from how they normally add items). I suspect they were trying to increase profits, and found a way to purchase a large quantity of tater tots for a very low price -- IMO this is likely to be a temporary item, and they only need people to try them once and collect their $7 for it to be a net gain. Of course, some people might order them a second time. Honestly, just buy a bag of frozen tater tots for $2 and a bag of pre-shredded cheese for $2... don't worry about the bacon or the sauce. You'll come out way ahead, and they'll be fresh out of the oven if you bake them yourself. Wait until the end to melt the cheese on top (broiler). PRO TIP: Never buy anything at Domino's that isn't a TWO-FOR special, a carryout special, or a COUPON OF SOME KIND. They make all of their money on people who just start ordering things without understanding the huge price difference that their coupons/specials have. It'll cut the cost of your order in half, and no you don't have to cut out a little paper thing and carry it with you.

Comparing the promotional material shots of the tots to that first glimpse in the video at 4:45, it would seem the local Domino's worker responsible for making those tots mistakenly applied the garlic parmesan sauce BEFORE baking as opposed to AFTER, given that unseeming golden drizzle atop the tots. You say it's an interesting topic but I implore u to look deeper than just take it at face value from a single source (i'm guessing you are basing your source on that video because it is the only one of its kind to suggest SPAM >was< a scrap food beginning solution. Which is patently false, from both the officially company history and third-hand accounts. Been with Dominos now 12 years, the reason for ditching the bread bowl is because stores would lose points during an audit, which at the time would happen 3-4 times a year. If the bread wasn’t completely golden it’d be a 3 point deduction, which doesn’t seem like a lot but at the time was a very big deal.

Did you receive all of the other food that you paid for? Just call the manager back and request that they refund your money or remake your entire order fresh. Kindly explain that it did, in fact, ruin your day. I used to work at Domino's and it should be an easy thing for them to deal with. When it gets busy, the pace is frantic inside the store and items can get mixed up. 'Stuff happens', but the fault is 100% with the store, and in my experience they shouldn't give you any hassle about refunding or remaking. If you're just saying that they accidentally included these tots and they sucked, LOL. Of course they're not going to come pick them up and throw them away for you.

I agree, I got their Cheese Tots, and it was amazing how Dominoes, who have some pretty flavorful cheeses, at least on their Wisconsin five-cheese, could make a cheese that not only doesn’t have any flavor, but somehow succeeds at muting the flavor of the tater tot as well. definitely not worth the $7-$8. Glad I got a free pizza with the app rewards, or I’d have been SOL.

I actually tried these last night more out of curiosity than anything and honestly they were just kind of... there. The bacon was dry with much of it being burnt, and eating these with the fingers is not practical because of course the cheese bound everything together into a block and the tots fall apart when you try to pull it apart. This also means eating it with a fork you end up basically with hash browns with burnt bacon and cheese covered with a garlic parm sauce drizzle on top. Definitely not something I'll ever be ordering again for $7 and even if they lower the price it's not something I'm gonna want to order as a side.

Hey, reviewbruh! Domino's manger here! I can assure you they forgot the garlic parmesan sauce on the tots. It's usually on the top of them and is a very noticeable white sauce. With the mozzarella, it is mixed together as a 50/50 blend with the cheddar, so even if not noticable I can almost assure that that was there. Sorry for your disappointment with this item!

The problem seems to be systemic though. I’ve ordered the tots twice, and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any sauce on both. I’m sorry, but I can order a sit down restaurant to go and be reasonably assured I’ll get what I’m supposed to and probably for a cheaper price. Fast food is getting out of control with the prices and a shocking lack of quality control.

The tots should be a build your own. For instance.. Tots with: Premium chicken, Roasted red peppers, Diced tomato's, Shredded provolone with Garlic Parmesan Sauce. Mango Habenero sauce instead of Garlic Parm sauce would completely change the whole flavor profile...

An accurate review of what you got. But as others have said, you can't judge them generally because what you got was missing the required garlic parmesan sauce on top. It happens. And the cheeses are inside the tots, not sprinkled on top. I'll agree with your assessment that these are bland. None of the flavors come through in the way they should. A big part of the problem is in the way they're required to be cooked. They are scrunched together before they're sent through the oven, which means the individual tots won't be allowed to become crisp, as tots should be. They will end up as a big mushy mass, as we see. That's the crucial mistake. You might think they're overpriced, but you do get a lot of tots in one order. Though you get a lot, their blandness nullifies their value.
