hi. If youre in the comments thanks for watching my first fully voiced youtube video.. im still learning so forgive some mistakes! Also what else should i talk about??!
I am one of those beginners that needs all the help I can get, the ink is stupid and doesn't help me at all. To be fair, I could have every item possible and I would still fly off rainbow road. Great video. You have a nice voice.
I feel as though it's the most useless in MKDS because of the detailed map which you can play entirely off of on the bottom screen, which is exactly what i did when playing the game at the young age of THREE
Here are three other ways to get rid of Bloopers: 1: Go underwater, it will wash away the ink. 2: The Piranha Plant item can eat it. 3: In Mario Kart Tour (not in MK8DX) you can kill a Blooper with a Super Horn.
In Tour the blooper is also really bad. You can simply get rid of it with a MINI-TURBO, and the only use is to keep your combo up, and (imo) it’s severely outclassed in that department.
I never noticed that added effect to the Blooper from Mario Kart 8, but once I learned about it, I realized how annoying the effect is. It always mess up my drifts ever so slightly it can make some corner cuts dangerous to pull off, and it just feels slower ahah.
I actually do notice the handling difference in Mario Kart 8, but it’s truly such a minor difference all I have to do is start drifting like a millisecond earlier than usual.
Agree it really doesn't feel like it does much. It's just a minor annoyance when you get hit by it and like you said it doesn't affect your experience at all when you use it.
I think it's funny that the touch screen maps on the ds and 3ds versions made the blooper completely useless cause you could just look at the map and see where all the players and items were
In MK8DX at least I do notice the handling taking a steep dive when bloopered. It’s not too noticeable when driving normally, but when drifting (at least with outward drifting) it’s more difficult to keep your vehicle under control and not go off-road or hit a wall. Essentially your drifts are way looser and less sharp which you would expect with ink all over you. But even then it’s mostly just an annoyance and you can easily adapt to it if you know what to expect. So yeah blooper isn’t that good at all.
in Mario kart 8 blue shell also competes with blooper because blooper is a middle item gotten around 5th or 6th but blue shell is usually obtained in the bottom 4 places and it not only ruins you run but also it ruins the person in 1st run
I get thrown to the side a lot when inked in 8 (I usually run Dry Bones or Kamek on the Yoshi Bike and Rollers so I have pretty solid handling and traction) so I can't say I agree, but I know how to handle most tracks these days so it's kinda just there - Rainbow Road 8 I can't handle anyways so the blooper would just add insult to injury there lMaO Some personal honorable mentions though: - Fake item box, might have its uses if you plop it down right around an item box set (especially the non-linear ones) but functionally a banana that can't even be used defensively - Lucky 7/Crazy 8, decent item selections but the roulette format makes it strategically really wonky to plan around - Boos, the intangibility is nice but the number of times I've gotten a low-value item while far behind is pain - plus while I do hate the lack of windup time to react to a Boo targeting you in 8, in DS it's so long you have plenty of time to just chuck that thing away so that at least you're wasting the would-be theft's time
I think up until a few months ago I never really took note of the effects the blooper on driving, and when I finally did notice, I was like "Oh it does something? Cool I guess." and went on with my day. Also, nice video, hope you continue making more like this
As much as I don't like the blooper either, (believe me, it's my least favorite MK item as well) one item I was never a fan of while it was around was the fake item box. And before anyone tells me, yes, I know it's hitbox was bigger than a banana and the best way to use it was by placing it among real item boxes, but it's cons outweigh it's pros hard to me for 3 reasons: 1: It's tell is way too obvious in DD!!, DS and Wii so you'd have to be a total moron to fall for it. 2: It can't protect you when holding it behind you making it worthless for defense. 3: Too many people place it haphazardly on the track which makes it stick out like a sore thumb. especially if you know the placements of the real item boxes. Simply put it wasn't good at it's job to me. Sorry if this comment was long.
The POW Block is far, far worse. It's almost as bad as the Thunder Cloud (an item that literally harms you) or maybe even the Yoshi Egg (an item that helps your opponents when it should be helping you). First off, it shows up way too often. Second, it's a worse Lightning. Third, it unfairly punishes new players even worse than the Blooper does, as not only does it remove all their items but makes them lose all of their speed, and it can cost them an entire Grand Prix, especially if it makes them fall off the track just to avoid it.
POW blocks are actually almost too easy to avoid.. I do think they are a weird item but they don't make me as mad as the blooper since at least they actually affect the race in a meaningful way. I also still like the thunder cloud more for this exact reason, it ADDS something meaningful to the game even if its stressful.
@@samcandles Here are two item ideas I have: one that's overpowered and nearly impossible to avoid, and another that is created for the sole purpose of harming the user. First, the item that's overpowered and nearly impossible to avoid: the Spiny Bombshell. This item will act like the Blue Spiny Shell, except it will automatically target other players on its way to first place and drop Bob-ombs on them after bowling them over. The only way to avoid this item will be to use invincibility items like a Star or a Boo. Also, it will turn Bullet Bill users back to normal. No one is safe from is item except for the user. Can only be obtained near the back of the pack. Second, the item that literally hurts the user and is meant to be detrimental: the Rotten Mushroom. This is basically the Poison Mushroom from Super Mario Kart, but more severe. When obtained, this item will halve all of the user's stats for ten seconds, will flatten them, and may also randomly flip them over during this time period. Can be gotten in middle to back positions.
Nice editing btw, looks super professional! The way you synced up your voice to the meme audio cues was really nice!👌 I agree the Blooper is total ass and no I haven't felt any loss of controls, but I guess it's never going away since Nintendo deems it as a funny joke item
I really shouldve mentioned the computer thing in the video That being said I still think the thunder cloud is better. It's way more interesting and even though its often frustrating it totally shakes up the way you play the game
@@samcandles btw you should’ve also mentioned how if you look at the bottom screen on the DS or 3DS then the blooper doesn’t change anything cuz you can still see where you’re going perfectly fine 😭
@@bennekin theres actually a fuckton of things i didn't mention that i wish i did, especially since the runtime of the video is so short and i couldve extended it
I should have mentioned this in the video, but even though I think its implemented poorly, the thunder cloud can SOMETIMES create fun gameplay situations where you are playing a game of hot potato. The blooper doesn't.
@@samcandles Thanks! btw I personally feel that the Thunder Cloud is the actual worst item in the series, not saying the Blooper is any good, cause it really isn't lol but TC is just...ugh!
