@@PlagueDrHK ridley isn’t bad at all imo. He’s really easy to tipper compared to the other big bodies and he isn’t heavy so we can still kill him as well. And his recovery is really easy to edge guard

Bowser is up there for two reasons: - He's big, Marth (at least a good chunk of Marth players) has some problems getting tippers on big characters/characters who hurtbox shift a lot, and Bowser kinda does both. Marth whole neutral can be based arround racking damage by bits to lead to his confirms that kill so fucking early, and facing someone HUGE that also has a wacky ass hurtbox with moves that CAN OUTRANGE HIM and turns HIS LIMBS AND HIS HEAD INVINCIBLE is not a good combo lol. Marth is going to have kind of a bad time onstage and (imo) the most reliable way of killing him is through edgeguarding with counter and tippered aerials -He has technically* the same range (on the floor) as Marth. His fucking limbs turn invincible on his tilts bro istg

Playing Bowser against a Marth I learned that Bowser's smash attack armor can actually be a big problem for him. Bowser's down and up smash armor can ignore 8% attacks, and Marth's Nair and Fair sourspots do... 7 and 8 percent. If Marth's trying to land, Bowser can just invade Marth's personal space at kill percent with a down smash with frame 5 armor and if Marth doesn't get that tipper he's cooked, a problem that Lucina doesn't have with her averaged damage.

I’m pretty sure Marth does fine in the bowser matchup IF the player can consistently get tipper sweet spots, big if tho. I definitely agree with Greninja being the worst.

The reason the bowser matchup sucks is exactly because tippers are fucking IMPOSSIBLE to hit. Bowser is huge and hurtbox shifts a lot and since this game prioritizes the sour spot over the sweet spot it is near impossible to tipper bowser. This also applies to dk and k rool and it’s why Lucina does so much better against heavies

There are a lot of Bowser specific topper combos but they're hard and volatile so not worth. Even with it, Greninja is harder. Greninja has its way with swords. I for instance say that Greninja is harder for Roy than Aegis.

Meta Knight is also really bad for Martina. They are so floaty one good dash attack can lead to death, and in neutral its pretty easy to stay grounded and whiff pubish with Dash Attack. Also he’s immune to edgueguarding since it’s MK

I play Marth as my Co-Main. And i'd say the Greninja match up isn't too punishing. I feel like Sephiroth is a little harder. I also agree that he doesn't have fully losing matchups tho.

as a marth main (my pfp) bowser is actually harder since he can outrange him, he has tough guy which can make it difficult to start side b chains, he's FASTER than marth which i freaking despise. Also sonic is up there too

As a marth main i feel like there's high tier characters like pikachu and game and watch he does well against however the super heavyweights marth definitely struggles with k rool and dedede especially they live way to long and have to do minimal to take a stock because he's light weight. seph is another character i feel is a bad match up but his weight makes it a bit easier

As a greninja main who enjoys playing marth I’m really interested in why marth’s worst losing matchup isn’t sonic or something like that because I feel like greninja does a good amount better against lucina than marth (we still do good against both) Then again I don’t really trust marth player’s opinions on their character 💀

Marth and Lucina don’t really have hard losing matchups, but also don’t have hard winning ones either. Their moveset and stats are well balanced and versatile enough that they still stand a chance in any matchups.

They do pretty good, but some specific moves such as F-Tilt and Up-Tilt become especially potent and easy to use against them because they’re always low to the ground when landing or running so super easy to tipper and they die very early. Makes up for them being hard to hit otherwise.

@@PlagueDrHK and if he what you mean by "unrepresented" every single lucina player doesnt use marth, since he is straight up worse than her in 80% of situations. Even leo used marth in tournaments a couple months and his results were clearly worse than his results with lucina, he said that marth had big problems, and he was the best marth in smash 4, if he was so buffed as you said, he would still use the character instead of complaining about his problems, the only reason he uses marth over lucina, is because he has more fun with him
