This series is spot on in hindsight for this 62 year old retired female. I and my husband who is 67, made every single mistake that you guys outlined. There wasn't such videocasts back then, so I hope that all the young people listening to this take it all to heart. My husband and I survived, and we are comfortable, but if we had followed all of this advice you guys are outlining that "comfortable" would be a whole lot more comfortable! Great series! Thank you!

Listening to you guys as a 20 year old during my off time is giving me a great mindset and lots of confidence on reaching some financial goals. I’m in the military saving most of my money for when I get out, I’ll have college paid for and very good benefits right after. Listening to what you guys have to say and seeing myself following up on what I hear makes me think I’m on the right path. Thanks for the awesome content.

For me, I have found that economic outpatient care in my 40s is a bigger reality than I could have ever imagined. For the most part, it boils down to helping friends with businesses, mostly. But elder care and elder issues keep popping up.

I can’t help but noticing that as technology becomes better and better people rely less on professional advice. I see this in my own field, the importance of having someone with all the information is diminished when information is shared so freely on the web

At 72, Ruth and I can take plenty of risk, but we have a balanced Vanguard portfolio instead. We arranged that, without touching our retirement investments, we have $80,000 in disposable income with no debt. The pensions have cost-of-living raises that aren't quite enough, but they're more than nothing. We don't add to the retirement investments regularly, just when we sell a rental property. I'd like to give more to charity than Ruth does, but that's OK. We do take the family to the beach occasionally, but it's not necessary to hit principal to do it.

If you're healthy you should have 100% in stocks if you're in your 60's. All time high life expectancies show that you should still be taking risks.
