It’s that time of the year again! The #RamnathRoenka Awards 2023 are here, where Akash Banerjee and Manisha Pande recognise the best of the worst of TV journalism.
It’s been an action-packed year with iconic and comical scenes playing out on our TV screens, from journalists quarreling to grab the now infamous ‘smoke bomb’ to the Times Now studio turning into an Ekta Kapoor serial starring Navika Kumar. Meanwhile, stories like Atiq Ahmed’s murder and the Seema Haider love story played out for months, each show more outrageous than the last.
So, we’re handing out some very prestigious awards to commemorate all the madness. We’ve got the No. 1 Reporting Of The Year award, Lappu Jaisa Media award, TRP Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega award, Hypocrisy Ki Bhi Seema Hoti Hai award, Taau Pe Mat Jaa award - and a lot more.

20 years ago, when I was in class 1, my parents kept on forcing me to watch news for atleast an hour in a day. It really helped me to broaden my mindset, learn about the beautiful world, understand history and practice humanity. Unfortunately, next year I'm going to be a father but cannot do the same to my children. This is a SHAME! 😭😭

The media circus situation is really very scary. Indian Mainstream Media has stooped so low with such servile appalling coverage that they should be labelled as entertainment channels rather than news channels.

I want to like it 4,5 6 7,8 .......infinite times😂 but on a serious note this is very painful that our journalists bow before a particular party and hide actual news from us
