The guy spoke about Edinburgh airport, while showing the Scottish Parliament building!!! People will now think that’s the airport. He also talked about the taking the tram to the airport while showing Waverley train station. There is no tram stop in the train station.
I used to live in Edinburgh, sold my car a couple of months after moving there. It's a lovely city to live in and visit, but it's terrible for driving around and considering how good the public transport is and how small of a city (especially the centre) it is I just made do with a mountain bike.
Air BnBs in Edinburgh always at least double their prices during the festival, best to stay somewhere on the outskirts with tram access. If you're going to the festival you might be best going in the second week, imo it's calmed down a little bit and the shows are more polished.
As public transport is affordable and pretty good you can even stay well outside the city, even in other towns and get the train or the bus in each day. and this is what many visitors do during the festival. Edinburgh Waverley railway station is slap bang in the middle of everything, as is the bus/coach station nearby, with nearly everything stopping in Princes Street, the main street in the city, including the trams.
I think you were thinking of Stockbridge. Gumtree Edinburgh often has rooms advertised short let also. Definitely stay slightly out of centre of town. It will be cheaper and the buses are frequent and all have their own lanes now so doesn't take long to travel.
I lived in Edinburgh for 8 years. Yeah the festival can be pretty crazy if you've not experienced it before and accomodation is insanely expensive. But if you know your way around you can find the quieter places! And there are hundreds of shows you can see for free (donations are welcome though) if you can find the venues (often in the back room of a pub,or somewhere underground!)
Oh no, not Wolter, this guy knows nowt. There is no 'off season' in Edinburgh. Once again, apologies if you thought I was taking the mick about churches and castles, I wasn't lad. In regards to somewhere to stay during the festival, there's probably a ton of us that'd put you up for free!.
it's an old train station Edinburgh airport is lovely ,. tram takes you straight to the airport , and its very busy in august and hogmanay in Edinburgh
Re fish’n’chips… nope, generally the chippie is best. Depends on the chippie, of course. Restaurants have too perfect a presentation of the down-to-Earth traditional fish’n’chips. You must have sampled some bad chip-shops.
@@Eddycheeee When I was a kid (I’m 65 now), traditionally, fish’n’chips from the chippie was served in used newspaper… running with brown chippy sauce, newspaper ink and all 😆 Today’s fish’n’chips aficionados are weaklings, pussies, saps 😬
I live in edinburgh the traveloade hotel Quite cheap theres one on princess street , another on the royal mile always best to ride the bus easyier to get to 2 pound every time you go on or a day saver 5 pounds
