Back when Vic2 first came out, for some reason my parents thought I was watching off the wall conspiracy videos on my steam tab. So my dad comes in while I'm playing, and demands to see my headphones. He puts them on, he looks at me and says "its just hammers? Why are you listening to hammers?" He goes into my mom and I heard him say, "Its worse, he's just listening to the sound of hammers banging." Oh victoria 2...
@@joelbachmann10 Vic2 was made before they introduced the proper DLC model, which means the Vic2 DLC are proper expansions... the downside is that they never patched the base game. And they never will.
*proceeds to slap French Belgia- no wait Belgium doesn't exist... proceeds to slap French people but then they start to wave their personal white flags until they have enough of the Slapping and start to invade Russia without any reason.
I remember, on my second day playing Victoria II, I formed Germany as Austria. Wiping that Yellow Prussia off the map was the best experience I’ve ever had in the game to this day.
There was a guy at the victoria 2 subreddit that posted a screenshot of his game without the DLC (yellow Prussia was the giveaway) and some guy was so disgusted by it that he offered to pay for the DLC's
I do hope Vic2 isnt gone for good, just on a hiatus so it doesn't get stale. I really enjoyed these videos and I hope you will play again in the future
I just bought the game and just played the no dlc game and didn't know what I was doing, thanks for the heads up on the complexity of the game and my lack of familiarity to it.
I have the DLC but because my laptop is so horrible I never bothered to macromanage or take time to notice there are ways to set national focus from the population menu, re-open factories en masse, rally troops, hunt rebels, etc.
I remember one of my favorite things about the base game was how Britain always took Tibet and Sinkiang and made Asia's borders look terrible. It somewhat happened here, but not as badly as it usually did for me
There was actually a time in which there was a debate among German states whether Prussia or Austria would lead a united German Federation. It's not entirely beyond possibility that a united Austrian-Prussian Germany could've existed and it would have been formed through treaty.
Vic 2 honestly has one of the best timelines, such a shame that it's so vanilla. If you lose at a game of Vic 2 then I honestly do not know how you get through life.
Actually the idea behind annexing Austria in Germany was toyed around with in reality with the argument for Großdeutsche so that might be why they added it whereas kleindeutsche which is what actually happened was all of Germany minus Austria
well i allways played it that way so evry time you called that came out i was like: wow that exists in the DLC WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME HOW MUTCH FUN THIS CAN BE
