actually the cockpit was intentional, the rios seat is nicknamed the coal chamber and the thought was that if he couldn’t see anything, he wouldn’t be distracted and would focus on the radar and instruments
Not to mention that the Yak-38 is a more conventional style of VTOL fighter jet than the Harrier is. It’s only the Harrier that uses all rotating nozzles, Yak-38 and Yak-141 use lift jets in the front, and the F-35 uses a lift fan in a similar but much more efficient configuration.

Its only kill is debated with it being given to a flak gun, the pilot that claimed it was shot down later that day, the glue would just. disintegrate mid flight resulting in several crashes, half the pilots that trained on it died from malfunctions or fuel issues. The only thing it ever did successfully was becoming a kill mark on allied aircraft.

not sure whether you mean in game or in real life but I'm not sure they are, Yak 38 is pretty meh with good missiles but useless manoeuvrability and no flares, if your talking about Irl the Yak 38 and He 162 were incredibly bad with the sea vixen being ok but it kept crashing. only one which good irl and in game was the super sabre.
@@Gannet-S.4Yak-38 fighting things that are lower BR is basically like an F-104 with 30g missiles. It’s probably the most OP plane in a downtier. In uptiers you can make it work by good positioning, ambushing and boom and zoom tactics on the A-10s, and trapping lone attacking enemies with your high drag in a turn and VTOL. So I may be biased as you can tell by my pfp, but I’ll admit the Yak-38 ain’t good but it’s not as bad as people say. It’s just it takes skill outside of downtiers.

@@AlgerianAce maybe not on pc, but on stereo headphones the voice is only on the left. To fix it, it could be possible to change the audio type on the editing software from stereo to mono
The fact that all of these planes are still beautiful to me, and the he-162 has a special place in my heart as it was the first jet plane i've discovered in WWll history books and documentary's even though it wasnt as succesfull as the me-262 it's still being my favorite design of all WWll era jet planes.
You should try watching honnemiase, some old japanese anime about late wahr planes, that guy who post a meme about bayonetting kancolle poster and compare those with yukikaze or Macross
