Today I wanted to talk about the worst player in NBA history, Sun Yue. Heard of him? Now this can be subjective, but this is my opinion on the worst player of all time and you are about to see why.
Sun Yue was the 40th pick in the 2007. Drafted by the Lakers, Sun Yue got to live the dream as a shooting guard, playing with Kobe Bryant and possibly learn from him. The Lakers thought to take a chance on Sun Yue as he was a 6’ 9” 2 guard. Seriously, what is up with these tall Asian players. He decided to stay with his international team in 2007 and joined the Lakers in 2008.
The highlight of Sun Yue’s career was in his first game where he scored 4 points. 4 Points! He only would score 2 more points in his 9 other games, but that wasn’t the worst part. In the 5 minutes that he scored 4 points, he also committed 4 fouls and had 2 turnovers. He had as many fouls as points. In fact, in his 10 games, he had more fouls than points, only had 2 assists and 0 rebounds. I don’t know about you, but that is just trash.
After that, he never saw playing time in the NBA again. What amazes me is how he wasn’t waived by the team. Sun Yue rode the pine all the way to a ring. He is the worst player in NBA history to win a ring and that is for certain.
