Man, I wished I had a playgroup like that. I love how making mistakes or asking for the right play is just part of the game and not something anybody has to feel bad about. I can feel Sheas insecurities about certain plays or rules questions and it's cool to see that her presence is valued over her knowledge about the game. This is how people will become huge mtg nerds. A good player carries the game and other players with it. You all are exceptional. Also, I love the fact that the eliminated players are still part of the game. Doesn't seem like much but makes a huge difference in table dynamics. Really nice, thank you.
I love how this show has 4 different levels of experience, 4 different kinds of players/deckbuilders, 4 different levels of bling/optimization, and this doesn't get in the way of the game at all. Quite the opposite, it shows that Commander is about gathering and having fun, and that the social and political aspect of it makes all the difference regardless of each player or deck. PS: last video I was going to comment on how the repeating music was a little too loud and annoying, but clearly you guys were on to it so that's great! also, I still can't get over how much I love your rule 0 and am using it all the time now.
@@suschilegge1683 each player describes their deck and "the worst thing it can do". it's such a clever way to break the ice, to compare power levels with an actual example, and to help all players of all levels assess the threats for that game much better.

B) of all if you're gonna flex the duals, grab the Plateau seeing as how that is the cheapest of the three playable in the deck. First time watching a commander show for more than 5 minutes: with the new cards, I was really excited to stay till the end! Altogether a very polished show -- love the little target icons from the editing, and love the fun you all are having. CGB, I just want to thank you for how you have really kept me excited about magic for these past couple years. The 3 times we actually played each other on Arena were so much fun (I even made it onto 2 of your daily videos!) and you have made my pandemic SO much better than it would have been. I was quite worried when you went on vacation and didn't know if you were ever coming back! Welcome back and thanks again!
Probably has been said already, but LOVE the authenticity of the members at the table. Though all-round powerful gameplay, the energy feels very relatable and down to earth. Out of all the Commanders shows I've watched, this is the only one I'd feel comfortable sitting down to and joining for a game.
i just wanna give it up to the editor of these commander videos they are killing it. they dont in my oppinion go too over the top, but thats to their credit. theres a lot of videos where people try to toss a bunch of edits or not enough, and it doesnt come out well but brent is doing a very nice job. just wanted to toss that out there i dont have any witty comment to try and curry favor to cgb just all around pleased vibes
in its simplicity and due to the liekable bunch of people playing here...its awesome. Best commander youtube games for me atm and I am through a lot of channels. good camera angles, nice music, super dope outro with those pictures (!), lots of facetime and not too much board only. Don't overload it with to much cinematic stuff and stay humble and I will continue to watch fooorever ;P. Much love from Berlin.
Thank you for this show. I am slowly venturing into the world of Commander and this has given me some good deck building notes of what to look out for.
CGB and Hinata, Dawn-Crowned: They're like shrines, except better! Amazing episode, tough call between throwing the magma or the march under the Jin-Gitaxias bus and I'm not sure which one I would have chosen but GGs on the win.
I also have a shrine deck with Go-SoLO, and ramped it up by making it a shrine/gate deck. Thanks to the Baldur's Gate set making gates GOOD thanks to Gond Gate, and Baldur's Gate it was an easy choice to swap out dual lands and triomes for gates. I also included 7 ways to go fetch gates, and spells that count gates like Gates Ablaze and Hold the Gates. I also leaned into the return enchantments side of Go-SoLO by putting in 26 (including the non-creature shrines) enchantments and even put in a ton of enchantment creatures (9/21 creatures in the 99 are *not* enchantment creatures), including two that have constellation effects. People always talk up my deck as being "dangerous" but I rarely win.
Took me 3 individual watches but I got to the end. Major take always Shea is still here with individual cards that seem alright but creating tons of value. Almost even a jank player in the making and plays greatly into the idea of hiding information. Ben is always there for the big splashy spell that saves the game but doesn’t finish the game. Cgb with incredible threat detection and Blake with the coolest in my opinion deck, Shrines. Loved the game thank you. And see you next time.
So far I could not think of a more misleading title for a serie, this is the BEST Commander Show! Where some other show bank on fancy fx and guest, you guys make it better through your friendship and chemistry. More!
I love shrines. That deck can so easily escalate and control the entire table. I loved it at games heaven. Esmond was playing the shrines with extra turnes, that was awesome.

I was so excited going into this video to see a March of Swirling Mist resolve with Hinata on the field and it felt so bad to see it shot down by Jin-Gitaxias. Then again, I've also wanted to see Jin actually do something since he doesn't get much love in Standard. Exciting match overall with lots of twists and turns! Screw shrines!!!
Loving this vid, all the commander matches have been cool and I don't even play commander. Makes me wish I lived in Michigan and could get in on the action...
CGB , outgain the drain that was insane! Using the math is for blockers to also double count his damage! Mastery at it’s finest with strong honorable mentions to the group for bringing some spicy cardboard!!

For next time, he gotta make sure he's paying for those shrine triggers! When they trigger an additional time, he has to pay for it an additional time. And the tempered in solitude only trigger when a creature attacks alone, so there was quite alot of extra cards there that may have shifted the game play a bit Still a great game :) keep them coming
Also it was weird that CGB didn't make him pay extra to target his commander when his commander specifically states oppenents targets cost 1 cost, so wouldn't that make his shrine cost a mana to target? It does that in arena so I was confused
It's interesting how ben's commander empowered Blake to such a degree that he became arch nemesis, I wonder if he would have been able to stay in longer if he had played under the radar
Fantastic game! Best 2 drop lifelink master ever but the card of the game was ankle shanker for sure. Really enjoying these commander games between Arena decks, good pacing. Be cool :)

Still really loving this show. Not sure if the end credits are new or if I just noticed them, but they are awesome! Also Isshin is supposed to look like Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, right? That can't be accidental.
you play in a game store which always has players, gamestores always need all the promo they can get, maybe the Lantern seat can be in an in store raffle or something or given as an extra prize to a draft night if they chose to accecpt, in not no biggie. The.other opportunity could be some sort of VIP god tier of CGBs patreon.... should have to go through a quick vetting process, which would reserve your spot on the more than likely lengthy waiting list....a list that will give you the opportunity to come play a game of commander, obviously they could request to be vetted prior or guaranteed a refund if they didnt pass that process or something....would make for some good content, amazing engagement , and absolutley worth the time. No one else is doing that right now so CGB could name his price for something like that, and trust me the market wants to buy, whatever he thinks it could be, it is worth more.
and i know CGB isnt a slouch when it comes to valuing the product he has to offer, trust me its still worth more than what you thought a good number was for that kind of thing....like i said god tier, its its a lot of time efforrt and he is putting a lot of trust in people actually being decent humans. Put yourself in his shoes, ,the man is pretty well known in certain circles, he has experienced way more internet bullshit than the average person. People suck and its honestly not even possible, although some one with that much money and more importantly some one with that much money and willing to spend it on a chance to play a game they love with some one they admire is worth exploring
Is there a place where you can see the deck lists ? sheas list has many arena legal cards and I would liken to make a brawl list that is similar to here.
She didn't even have to play the Boros Charm @1:20:20, Ankle Shanker made all the creatures have first strike and deathtouch...they woulnd't be assigned combat damage due to the first strike damage going in first....which triggers death touch which would kill the blockers before normal damage even went through.
Blake: I’m not worried about Jin-Gitaxis at all, don’t affect me 1 turn later, after having ganged up on Ben exclusively for the first half of the game kills Ben’s commander *as he is searching his deck* then gets salty when the man fishes a response and aims it at him. Durrrrrr
Not gonna lie, they looked that they had us in the first half with so many shrines but, we took with home all bruised and beat up but a winner nonetheless. It was a very fun game, the Gitaxias deck gave me some ideas.
