The WORST Rated Hotel In Dnipro 🇺🇦

🇺🇦 What do you look for in a hotel room when on holiday? A spa? A pool? A lovely comfy bed with soft pillows? Well there don't stay at the hotel Dnepropetrovsk here in Ukraine because you might be disappointed. It does however have a wonderful Soviet fridge called a Dneper 402-1 and a balcony you can't get onto just incase you want to jump of it at the thought of spending another night here. And all this for £15 a night. Bargain!

Let me share my experience. I once stayed in a hotel in Paris where I could see the sky from my bed through a hole in the roof. Pigeons were gathering around the hole, presumably they where hunting the many cockroaches in the room. No bathroom, but a shared shitter in the hallway (yes, in the hallway, no door). The locals in the beginning interrupted him from telling yall the difference between letter Г (G) in Russian and Ukrainian. In Russian it's just G like in "Good". In Ukrainian it's the voiced version of H, so the word HOTEL transferred into Ukrainian as ГОТЕЛЬ (last letter is just the sign of palatalization of L, a Slavic feature). The voiced H instead of plain G is well-known as the special feature of Ukrainian talk across all the former USSR.

Hotel room actually looks nicer than the rooms in the Intourist Hotel in Zaporozhye I’ve been staying at every year since 2007. Although they have renovated some rooms since.

There is a more Soviet hotel in Dnipro, but is in the outskirts of the city, on the road coming from Kremenchuk to Zaporitzhia. It is a big building too, and you can find on corridors old pictures of military parades on USSR times. I wish I had taken pictures of that hotel, but unfortunately i had stayed there for causes of a broken car on those infamous roads conditions in that area.

When I use to travel from Yekaterinburg to Chelyabinsk I used to stay in hotels like this. Brought back memories.

Not only did they renovate the lobby, but also the bathrooms in their cheap rooms apparently, since I last stayed there. And they have new bedside lamps that work. How dissapointing!

The balcony is sealed because that is how soviets protect from cold in winter - that wooden frame is absolute rubish in terms of thermoisolation (been there, done that, using soap to stick paper to the frame LOL) All in all, room looks really nice - would love to stay, no doubt there.

I've been in worse, in the UK, my worst hotels have ALL been in the UK.

I've stayed in worse in London. However my very worst were not in the UK. I'm thinking of a shack I stayed in Nepal, and a place in Safed in Israel, where it turned out I had a lot of company at night when the lights went off.

The UK must be top of the list when it comes to a combination of expensive and horrible.

@@cornishhh I stayed in a top hotel in Edinburgh some years ago, a famous one and parts of the walls were bashed through. The room was en suite but there was nothing to distinguish the room from an ordinary B&B except the price and a fancy restaurant downstairs.

Definitely in cities. There are also amazing hotels and B&Bs in countryside areas and lake districts etc though

@@cornishhh I agree, a friend of mine and I stayed a couple really nice little B&Bs in NI though that were charming and reasonable, London is for sure the worst unless you are prepared to spend your entire vacation money on just a room. I'm a "cheap and cheerful" type myself all I really need is a bed and a shower and a reasonably decent door that locks a TV is a nice bonus and preferably no "tiny companions" of any sort and at least reasonably clean.

That's not too bad actually. The worst hotel I ever stayed in was in Seville in Spain, 4 stars apparently. The room was old and threadbare, the food was awful, but worst of all the bar was closed.

The doors and windows sealed off with ducttape is to keep the rooms warm. It is because the gaps are too wide.
