@@tdenzel101 re5 and re4 were action movies as well that barely tried to have horror elements. people look at re4 was rose tinted nostalgia goggles and it’s absolutely ridiculous at this point. i’ve played every title in the series and have been around in the series since i was born basically, and i find that y’all are extremely biased. i ran through the Leon campaign yesterday with a friend expecting to hate the game or think it’s corny (i’ve played this game over 30 times as a kid not paying attention to the story) and we were extremely impressed with it. my way to enjoy re6 is that every campaign is catered to specific type of Resident Evil fans. Leon for the action horror fan, Chris for the action packed call of duty gameplay and storyline, Jake and Sherry for the classic hunted feel and genuine survival horror with also balancing that with the global scale conflicts that mesh with Chris. and Ada’s ? well it’s a throwback to playing as her in re4. it’s definitely the weakest campaign but i feel like you don’t really have to play each one when coming back to the game. not to mention, RE6 has a flawless combat system unmatched by any other in the series if you know how to actually use it. i think it’s time to take the nostalgia glasses and recognize the great aspects and innovative features of this title instead of hopping on a total hate train.
@@daskrunkly3213 I think you read to heavily into my comment everyone knows re4 is the reason for resident evil downfall and re5 was no better but those games was still somewhat close to their roots mostly re4 than re5 but re6 was truly all over the place and the story wasn't good. Re6 isn't a bad game in fact it is a good game it just shouldn't have been a resident evil game.
@@daskrunkly3213dude re5 at least had its moments where it tried to be scary and succeeded. It honestly just sound like you've never played it and I'm not even nostalgic for it! I played it like 9 months ago
I just can’t believe I’ve never seen a single person make jokes about Wesker evading child support payments. Not just because it’s such an easy and obvious joke but Jake grew up extremely poor and literally became a mercenary not just to get money for himself but for his dying mom.
RE 5 and 6 would always be one of my favourites because of how I played it when I was a kid. Re4 and the remake are fantastic but I'll always cherish 5 and 6 for the memories
Hot Take Time: I think RE6 gets a little too much shit. Like sure it has some really big problems and it's not scary in any way but my god is it a good action game once you understand how the Mechanics work.
Ada very clearly just has a JoJo like stand in the form of a soldier which very clearly describes her survival in the series. Well that is what me and the friend who played co-op with me think
for me re6 being an action game is narratively correct, because of the well known character progressing as they become familiar with the BOW and such, they cant be scared for forever dealing with the virus in macro scale, remember they are travelling around the world wherever theres a BOW involved thats why they introduce new character like ethan to make a horror game again, because of his weakness, vulnerability, and having no idea how to deal with BOW for me, i still like the re6 mechanically, re operation raccoon city (i like the melee only and the free aiming pistol) combined with most of all mechanics from re6 are one of the best tps mechanics ive seen (although i can say ghost recon future soldier/the division is the smoothest to play with) if they ever remake re6, maybe just retold the story much better and take out the mini games that hurts the pacing and im good
the movies r b tier at best more like a parody of the REverse its a guilty pleasure thing not meant to be taken seriously but the games were always meant to be scary plus some action not the other way around
The reason alot of people hate it is because it felt more like a generic action game, and the story wasn't really there for me either. It's not a bad game but it was definitely not horror anymore.
Resident evil 6 wasn’t bad but if they are going to remake it my god they got their hands full, I hope they do remake it weigh less action and combine the stories together as one. Resident evil 5 was my favorite until the remake games came out.
Resident evil 6 is basically about a Simp named Simmons wanting his own Ada after the real one dumped him. To which his clone Ada turns evil and starts the whole mess. I personally after resident evil 6 just dislike Ada entirely.
In a way it kinda made sense for it to be a action game, by now they were very experienced in butt kicking zombies. I just thought it was ok, they really needed to throw it back in the oven and spend a few more months fine tuning it. I just remember the controls and menus were crap. Also the scripted boss fights and lack of unlimited rocket launcher to help with replay ability kinda sucked, played 4 and 5 nonstop when they came, think i played through this one twice
Re6 hands down capcom best action game the endless amount of coop fun this game is plus the combat and you can’t forget about the counter attacks for a 150 combo in mercenaries
This game also has the most flawless combat system in the series, it’s free and smooth and it really is so ambitious and knocks even the new RE engine out of the water with its insane amounts of versatility and personality. The way i see it, you don’t have to actually beat every campaign in RE6 and every campaign is more so catered to specific types of RE fans and what they enjoy. for the action horror story with classic vibes, Leon’s is for you, his also pushed the plot the strongest and most cohesively. For the boulder punching action packed call of duty gameplay and atmosphere you can play as chris and take on BOW’s on a global scale. Jake and Sherry’s was a mix of the action packed moments of the series as well as the horror, hopelessly getting chased by a relentless tyrant reminiscent of Nemesis. Re6 totally gives re3 remake a run for its money with that type of enemy. and Ada’s ? well it’s the weakest campaign but enjoyable for those who loved playing as her in re4. I feel like it may have also been intended to be played like this as well because you can really play any campaign except ada’s independently with it still making plenty of sense and standing on its own. i think there’s something good in re6 for everybody, but of course there’s plenty of things that aren’t for everyone which is why i stick with my approach. great video !
It's my guilty pleasure game. The stupidity of the game just has a weird charm. Like, I'm watching a b movie at times. I think the gameplay is just fun to play. It also has so much content, though the quality of said content may vary, to each.
i personally find it hilarious how the average RE fans hated this game for taking it to a global scale and not sticking to small scale survival horror, as if re4 didn’t already up the stakes. If you’ve been actually paying attention to the RE story you’d know that this was bound to happen and makes perfect sense in the timeline. It would be absolutely ABSURD if things didn’t get to this scale sooner. All the past events and viruses and the selling of Bio Organic Weapons on the black market has lead to this, if you think after Las Plagas and Wesker unsuccessfully executing his master plan that was in the works for several games on the sidelines that we would be walking around a mansion looking for answers, you’ve been lost in the roundhouse kicks and one liners.
Great Video. I remember beating Ada story, then all of a sudden. They added the Agent just for Ada story to have local and online coop. Also, the introduce the new split screen set up pissed me off. But this game is still fun to play with friends as an action game. Still suck as a RE game.
tbh i feel like resident evil 6 is the perfect resident evil let me explain: they is 4 stories leon and elena which is more horror related chris and piers that are action-horror jake and cherry that are only action and ada that is here to complete the lore it was my most liked resident evil game i played especially the coop mode, i hope that if they remake they dont remove the 4 stories and keep the coop mode but make leon and ada more horror and let the rest be
Before I watch this video, re6 is not exactly a good Resident Evil game but as a game in general, it is extremely fun to play. And I believe Jake's campaign was the best.
Neither Resident Evil 5, nor 6 are anywhere close to being as bad as Operation Raccoon City, which is i'm well aware not developed by Capcom...but still a bad RE game is a bad RE game, no matter who it is made by! Also there are quite a few RE titles, which i can squeeze in between RE5/6 and Operation Raccoon City - Gun Survivor rail shooter bs on original PS console comes to mind as an example, then all those other underwhelming spin offs, that got nothing to do with main time line! Every RE spin off that wasn't Revelations or Code Veronica was a bad RE game! I would rank ANY numeric main series RE title including 5 and 6 over any spin off, except for Code Veronica and Revelations 1 and 2! That is in my personal estimation! You are free to disagree, but RE5 and 6 are far from being worst RE games...
No, it is not everyone hate this game. The one who hate this the most are the survival horror fan base. It is not re 6 that divide fans but 4. It because re4 5 sold so much that we got re 6 so heavy action. Actually it is dino crisis that should be action oriented. Dino 2 is pretty much the re 4 ver. of dino crisis that players can buy wep and upgrade just like re4 and everybody love it though not horror oriented like the first one.
Things have changed, but back then it was the cool thing to shit on re6 just because (obviously some of the criticism was valid and with proper arguments, but many others were just re6 bad lol). Something similar has also happened with games like 5 and outbreak over the years
I've never had a problem with the more action heavy resident evils. If you are fighting bio weapons, as far as I'm concerned that's all resident evil really needs to be. There's exceptions to it like umbrella corps is genuinely just a fundamentally awful game but re6 is great. "This isn't resident evil" isn't valid to me. The people that say that don't actually know what the hell the core of resident evil is actually about at all. To reduce the series to the aspects people reduce it to and act like anything different just isn't resident evil at all is nonsense.
I’m definitely part of the minority who loves RE6 mainly due to the fact that I was a big fan of the Black Ops series so the whole Action Horror feeling RE6 had was no big deal to me
hear me out, i love the game, its quite enjoyably technical especially how you move and combat, i mean coolest thing is seeing Chris pick up a dude and throw it at another dude, like thats just some chad shit energy right there, or playing as Jake Wesker and suplexing a giant mutant or making him just do hand to hand combat.
