I think it was supposed to be cringey as a parody of juvenile humor, however satire doesn’t automatically equal quality. If something is bad and annoying as a joke it’s still bad and annoying.
It’s about a teenage girl who gets bullied and her best friend becomes a talking shit and then her power is she can create shit out of thin air and do whatever with it
Can't yall realise that this just shits on the basic stereotypical anime with wierdly wholesome and creepy plots? its a satire. There was nothing serious about this.
I think it’s pretty standard and on tone with the boys. With that said, I don’t think it’s supposed to be taking that seriously, especially when the comics are even way worse and way more vulgar.
Fun/disgusting fact: If you were born in the 90s, you probably remember a short animated called sewer boy which relates the story of a boy who became the "superhero" named Sewer boy. It aired on nickelodeon and This episode was clearly based on that concept
I personally liked it. It was a good parody to the 90s shojo anime world. "Make everything sparkling and cute give a big focus to the emotion part" but the reality just say fuck you this not how it works. And a funniest thing they had to made an episode about talking shit to make The Deep scary (for like 5 second?)
It was a nice break from some of the heavier episodes. I loved the sader ones but I wouldn't have been able to watch them all at once. and I love the idea of bad super powers, so seeing them push the theam harder then with the rejected kids was great for me.
if your power or fighting skill are not that special against literal feses and I'm very understanding for Deep not able to beat an army of pop inside of sewer
@@BowserisOK Forgot to put the "" to emphasise that this is what anime haters say when the west makes their own "anime". The "" are a lot more essential than I thought they were.
Aqua proved in the bad guys and Shang-chi that she can be funny and have good cast chemistry which makes the fact that’s she’s in this short all the more insulting. It’d be like if you got Jaiden animations to guest star in love death and robots but she’s in secret war or kill team kill.
As soon as I saw that The Deep was the antagonist in this episode it all just clicked. He’s such a loser that even the short film he’s in doesn’t take him seriously.
This was my introduction to the boys my brother turned this episode on and did not say a thing even though I was begging for him to tell me what was going on
Didn't Seth Rogan write that episode? That guy hasn't written anything good in over 10 years. Edit: I forgot it was the first episode that seth rogan worked on as a writer, but my what I said about him is still true.
@@therenegade4425 I can't find anything online that says Seth Rogan directed the show, but either way that wouldn't change my statement that he hasn't WRITTEN anything good in over 10 years. He does good voice acting and he hasn't done a bad job directing when someone is helping him. It's just he can't write anything good to save his life.
Despite the fact he mouth raped starlight you gotta feel bad for the deep his wife went on national television in the show and said kevin is a horrible person, he got beaten up by a fecalmancer, he was forced to take a sabbatical from the seven and bullied by people, he was gill raped by a women, and bullied by homelander. Poor man just cannot catch a break.
The fans? I suppose when it comes to the actual show it balances over the top tarentino-esque with some solid emotional moments n meaningful arcs incase u aint seen the actual show, avoid the fans, its actually really good, not pretentious but not overtly goofy either where it can nvr be serious, which honestly is real rare these days, cant think of another new show like that rn
Is this spinoff show even worth watching? The fact I was told to give this a watch sometime, but I've heard almost nobody talk about this show is rather worrying.
It’s pretty good. Some episodes are okay, some are weak like this one, and some are absolute god tier like I’m Your Pusher and the final one with Homelander. Give it a watch, you might get a kick out of it. It also has a stellar cast, some from the actual show, so that’s a bonus.
If this what outsiders think anime looks like, tells stories like, an acts like then I wouldn't grace them even calling this a parody which I do believe it is trying to do so with the Magical Girl genre which even Japan as done better and has saturated the fuck out off already. It looks like Guardian Spice which wasn't a great sign cause the West really can do better like how Castlevania showed that they have a more dignified take on anime. As a anime weeb, I do see what they were going for and some of the community even liked it but mostly it wasn't since it still feels like Anime still as that stigma I the west about bing childish and immature of which is a very narrow view and actually just a part of the greater whole that is the Anime Medium.
I don’t like this episode, but it’s not my least favorite. I dislike the first episode the most since it had no dialogue and had a quite boring and unfunny story. Maybe it was mocking those kinds of cartoons, but I still found it in enjoyable.
i didn't think it was too bad, sure the concept was gross (and I pray to God that was just vomit filling Deep's mouth at the end), but then again, what else do you expect from a series that's literally called 'Diabolical'?
Aside from the last episode, this was the only next memorable episode for me. The grossness of it all was hilarious, and absurd. I don't like anime, but the clichés weren't too bad compared to actual anime series.
I think the one ep I hate is the one where the guy has to take the cream just to get the girl he likes and popular ig at first its somewhat kind hearted till she finds the cream and it just becomes toxic and in the end his head explodes
I couldn't even finish this episode. As soon as I found out that Akwafina wrote this episode, was the voice of the main character, and it was about poop, I was like nope... Skip this one right away.
For me this was actually my favorite episode, simply because she had the happiest ending by embracing her ridiculous power (even though she was lucky the serum didnt kill her)
