@@MrTytyjohn64 trueee The only part that hurts it is the gameplay of it, but tbh it saved by everything else imo and i will never understand why nobody ever talks about the music which is some of the best in the game
@@MrTytyjohn64 True, the fact that it's based off of mexican culture and background is so nice, they portrayed it amazingly, questing through it do be annoying tho
@@MrTytyjohn64you are trippin. Azteca is the worst world. All your points are valid and I still agree with them, except for the length, it is the worst world and krysalis isn’t far behind
Ending the whole second arc is just a massive relief. Because after that the worlds get a lot more fun, not as grindy, with better graphics. Khrysalis is not nearly as bad as Azteca because it has a way better story but it’s even more grindy.
@@MrTytyjohn64 Oh really? Damn maybe its because I mostly remember like the last portion of it. Idk I feel Khrysalis has enough stuff inbetween to make it not as miserable then like Azteca. Like we get shadow magic and darkmoor gear and spells right in the middle.
Instead of just "Malistare is back because he mad at wizard" they could've made it to where he was forced back into the wizard world and his spirit tortured and restrained to do whatever evil power above him commands while his wife is alone and you must free him
khrysalis is the real reason why we all waited on this series, the world that makes all worlds seem like a ride at chucky cheese's. I swear I grew a hair on my chest while questing in khrysalis
every time I watch one of these, I realize just how unbearably long these worlds actually are for new players. I wonder if KI has ever thought about reducing the amount of quests in these worlds
No no. You're thinking about it way wrong. You need to keep in mind the worlds were released one after the other with quite a bit of downtime. People back then were glad to have a questline and world that big. You'd be hard pressed to revamp a world because of that (still can happen tho)
@@Lemontarts01 I actually completely agree. As an old time player I've always loved the content, but it's undeniable that it's probably overwhelming for new players. Who wants to spend weeks catching up to older players that're way higher levels?
I don't agree when you said the story is bad. It's very interesting when you do the side quests and get into the lore of Azteca (I know side quests are something that most people don't do, but for this world specifically the side quests reveal a lot about the world). Also the Malistaire fight is sick, he doesn't just appear in the final battle, he stalks you during the storyline which is something you missed out on. Love the video though :)
Honestly I just can’t stand how they brought Malistaire back at all. He was such a great and well thought out villain. Bringing him back and shoe horning him in as this bloodlusting shadow demon who stalks and hates the wizard is a massive slap in the face to the first arc. Outside of that I think the design of the world is actually really cool
@@ZerittYT i mean look at like this (as dark as it may be) malistare is not a good person hes kinda getting what he deserves in that form causes hes suffering as he should tbh he shouldnt just get an easy death in the story but i do agree it felt shoehorned in unless im missing something
@@ZerittYT this is such an interesting point, because I had a totally different interpretation than you did of the way his character arc ended in Dragonspyre. So for me, it kind of made sense what they did with him in arc 2, culminating in darkmoor. But I think it shows what a dynamic character Malistaire is, that everyone can interpret him so differently (and with so much nuance).
I get entertained by watching paint dry, so I thought this world wouldn't be that bad, and I'd tolerate it. By the end of it I was throwing money at the game for henchmen because holy shit I wanted it all to just end already
For Malistaire, I honestly thought Morganthe was just corrupting her; Everyone she brought back to life hated the wizard until they were defeated, in which they became regretful. I assumed Malistaire was the same. Though it was still entirely unneeded.
i hate azteca SO MUCH. the quests alternate back and forth EVERY TIME between regular defeat and collect and fighting a boss with 14k+ health. i'm soloing it on my myth rn and i genuinely don't understand the storyline. like literally wtf is even going on. i don't even think i'm halfway through. it's torture. i finally have time to play this game bc it's summer and i don't even want to bc of this world. this video was great though!!!
update. i finally finished azteca last night. can i get an amen. and as much as i hated it i did get emotional at the end. i started khrysalis today and it's so easy and i already love it. i am not looking forward to doing azteca again on my other characters lol
I always had mix feelings about this world because I loved the environment and sometimes I like fighting the side bosses too. The main problem I have with this world is the mainline bosses at the end and the mainline quest grinds for enemies. Like why in the hell they made twin giants a boss rush and xibalba? Like it made isaac repentance boss rush for tainted Jacob a living joke.
I absolutely hated Aztecs too 💀 there were constant boss fights after 2 normal quest and it was just annoying in general especially soloing being an ice
One of my biggest complaints about wizard101 as a whole is the decision to not let malistaire have a good conclusion. They should've left it at Dragonspyre and introduced a new boss as Morganthe's underling that is from darkmoor and just replace malistaire's last two fights and give the defeated boss a reason to be at darkmoor. Also, Azteca is only good from a story perspective because it is the Wizard's first taste of defeat and allows us to see how destructive morganthe is in her desire for power.
Meanwhile morganthe was just yeeted into space and that was the last time we ever see her. No follow up on what happened to her so I guess we straight up kill her.
This has really opened my eyes to why I love this show so much. I relate on a deep level to Luz and Hunter. This show is beautiful for showing kids it’s okay to be different and not everyone will help you. But you can find yourself and learn more about yourself and how to understand yourself. Thank you for this video!
Yeah I don't know why it goes from defeat maybe 3 or 4 minions to 5 or 6 suddenly. Whenever I lvl aztecca I ensure I've got someone else with me as I just want to get out the world asap.
I despise khrysalis far more than this world. 277 main quests, many of which unnecessary, plus side quests only give gold from then on. I have 7 characters and khrysalis is why i only have 2 maxes. I quit questing as soon as i reach it.
Aztecs is not nearly the worst world. That honor has been granted to Zafaria for the amount of defeat and collect quests that are the true definition of repetitive
im in azteca on my second wizard…. im still in it and it took 4 years for me to continue questing because i gave up early in the world, when i came back im STILL grinding through. im in the floating mountains and im taking another break.
Khyrsalis is worse by far. Maybe on release, Azteca was worse, but Khrysalis really overstays its welcome. Azteca is also conceptually much cooler than Khrysalis, it just wasn't executed well. It would've been so cool if Xibalba actually got closer and closer to hitting the world as you progressed, until it's right up against you at the end.
i almost gave up on azteca with my life wiz but i powered through and then did half of khrysalis before giving up entirely. i haven’t played in months. it just got so boring 💀
I had no idea this world was so hated, i just got back into this game after years and just finished Avalon. I don't know wether to be excited or scared now
I personally don’t like celestia. Azteca feels like one big grind where by the end of it you feel powerful. You will likely start in the late 70s and end in the early 90s you get access to Tartarus and sharpen blade. Khrysalis is easily the worst world for me even though you do get level 100 and more powerful. The entire look of the world is lame
Bro I hated... HATED this world so much... it's a solo nightmare if you don't get good gear or pick good schools to train into. Fuck man I used even Monstrology and retrained into god damn Death actively instead of my original design because you literally have to heal and hit so fucking hard as basic requirements. The number of bosses and collection quests... ugh...!!! RRGGG!!! And fucking Belloq!!
