I'll admit the outtake during December to Dismember did make me laugh. If only because I needed something to distract me from the show that got Paul Heyman fired.
Vid was worth just for confirmation of worst match ever coming back. Hope ya mix up the crew (or just bring in multiple viewing teams like that Raw Underground video) Yes I just want to see more Sullivan reacting to bad things 😂
yeahhh as someone who is currently watching early 00's that was kind of an drastic exaggeration. The Eddie/flair match is actually good too...its fucking eddie and goddamn ric flair they aint having a damn bad match.
I disagree with some of these such as Backlash 03 The Great American bash 05 The Bash 09 They were good shows to me I enjoyed them. I respect your opinion though.
As someone who stayed up that fateful night to watch December to Dismember live on sky sports, I can’t begin to explain how confused and bamboozled I was watching that show. Truly the worst of all time by some distance.
Can’t really hate 2002 King Of The Ring too much because Brock vs Test in the semis is an unsung hoss fight and even that Cruiserweight title match is solid.
@@enigmatic13465 i mean i do think hes a tad overated like hes obviously great but people talk about him like hes untouchable in the ring and i just dont think thats true angle was better guerrero was better michaels was better, arguably regal is a better wrestler if you like that style.
@@evansteinberg2337I prefer Regal to Benoit but I think it’s difficult to get a straight evaluation of Chris Benoit as a worker because so many of those other names were his contemporaries, so he was having excellent matches with little effort. Orlando Jordan was a pedestrian worker at best; I don’t know that Eddie, Kurt, or even Shawn could’ve done much with him that Chris couldn’t.
I stopped watching wrestling sometime after WrestleMania 18 in 2002. I didn't come back to wrestling until 2015 after Roddy Piper died. But come to find out, I had no idea many wrestlers had died (Test and Crash Holly etc...). And that I didn't miss much of wrestling either
Ha! I literally went down I the comments to say this. But I was a Kidman mark since WCW’s heyday. Only bad part was they rendered it pointless by having X PAC beat him for the belt the next night.
2000: Judgement Day 2001: Invasion 2002: king of the ring 2003: No Mercy (for Obvious Reasons) 2004: the great American bash 2005: the great American bash 2006: December to dismember 2007: Backlash 2008: Night of Champions 2009: Hell in a Cell. (I Like to Bet that in the next list Over the Edge will be the worst PPV of 1999)(Sorry)
You right about Over The Edge but dead wrong about Judgement Day, Backlash and No Mercy. No Mercy 2003 was a good show. The only bad thing was the Vince/Stephanie match, everything else was good. To be honest, most of the Raw PPV’s that year were far worse. And Backlash 07 was the best PPV of 07. Yeah Vince winning the ECW title was a bad decision but there’s still no bad match on that show. And Judgement Day 2000 was one of the best WWE shows of 2000. I understand why you don’t like them but those aren’t terrible shows at all.
So I argue that Invasion was a SOLID SHOW for what it's got Montreal happened and I checked a F out I still loved wrestling and played with the figures but watching weekly and my parents ordering the ppvs that DIED that night As a child we got these TV guide books from Shaw or MTS and the BACK cover use to be the PPV poster for the month and I saw WCW/ECW vs WWF and it blew my mind that wrestling had changed so much in those years
Here's to hoping the following matches are on Worst Match Ever: - Steinblock vs One Warrior Nation - Tyrus vs EC3 - Corbin vs Steveson - Royal Rumble 2015 - Villanos vs Psycho Circus - Anything from Heroes of Wrestling although I'm pretty sure reviewing Heroes of Wrestling is beating a dead horse
These surely have to be some contenders: DX vs brothers of destruction crown jewel Intercontinental elimination chamber match Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler
I remember seeing Invasion live on PPV and it actually, at that time, wasn’t that disappointing. In hindsight it does suck, but at the time, we sorta cared. Lol
2000: wrestlemania 2000 2001: insurrexion 2002: king of the ring 2003: insurrexion 2004: the great American bash 2005: the great American bash 2006: December to dismember 2007: unforgiven 2008: judgement day 2009: breaking point
When he said that Catwoman 2004 was a masterpiece, I think what he meant to say was it was a masterpiece of sh!t 😅😅😅. (I despise that movie with all my being)
I'll never understand the hate for December To Dismember. Sure It wasn't great but come on it is nowhere near the worst ppv ever! I honestly enjoyed the chamber match.
Unforgiven was so bad I stopped watching wrestling for 4 months I’m probably in the minority but at the time I was getting sick and tired of seeing Batista in the world heavyweight championship picture the dude had 8 rematches and lost 7 of them and to me that’s a clear indication that you need to get the f🐬ck out of here. Like I get it most of the roster was injured at the time but god above Batista gave off more “go away” heat from me than John cena did I just wanted Rey mysterio to win don’t get me wrong I was happy that great khali was no longer world heavyweight champion but they went the extra mile of making me not want to see Batista fight for the world heavyweight championship ever again
2008 Survivor Series, the show where John Cena literally got a title match for just being John Cena. If people weren't over the Super Cena thing by then, that show would have done it.
My Opinion 2000: King Of The Ring 2001: Invasion 2002: Insurexxion 2003: Judgement Day 2004: Great American Bash 2005: Great American Bash 2006: December To Dismember 2007: SummerSlam 2008: Survivor Series 2009: Breaking Point
Wow so many things I disagree with here. 1. Admittedly as someone who didn't know at the time the missed opportunity that was the invasion, I really enjoyed Invasion, whereas I remember being a bit bored with Backlash and Judgement Day. 2. Brock Lesnar v Test is a very underrated match from KOTR 02. 3. Worst ppv from 2000 us low key actually No Way Out. Everyone remembers it for the HHH v Cactus HiaC, but man the rest of that show is awful. Bossman v Tazz that ends in a dq after less than a minute, Mark Henry v Viscera, a very boring Dudleys v Outlaws match. Yeah not great.
Maybe it’s nostalgia (it was the first ppv I rented from BlockBusters) but I love Unforgiven 2007 for two reasons: 1) Rise Today by Alter Bridge fucking rocks and 2) the whole “Deadman returning” video package scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
I’m shocked that WrestleMania 2000 wasn’t the worst ppv of 2000, that’s the only bad one from what I’ve heard. Worst Match Ever returning has popped me, really hope we get to see one of the infamous cage matches from Lockdown 2007 or Mr T/Kevin Sullivan on series 2!
I was at Great American Bash 2005. We were on edibles. Road Warrior Heindenreich broke my friend. Legit made him bug out and run out of the his seat. I found him in the corridor and calmed him down, just in time for Booker T’s pyro to go off and scare the ever living shit out of him. He sprinted out of the building and I watched the PPV alone. Magical evening.
1:09 surely wrestlemania 2000 was the worst ppv of 2000. Everyone talks about how great the year was for wwf but the only bad show was its main one. Wrestlemania especially with the main event of a McMahon in every corner. And I’d say bad blood 2003 was worse than backlash. And breaking point is worse than the bash
"Worst Match Ever" coming back definitely woke me from a post-Saturday drinking binge hangover, but then saying after RVD vs. Y2J had nothing else of substance on KotR 2002 when it had the hossiest of hoss-battles (for the time) with Brock vs. Test, brought me crashing back down. For shame, Tempest. FOR. SHAME.
Another jab at the scramble matches. Personally I'll never understand the hatred for the scramble match concept. I usually like the matches. Do I think it should be FOR the title? No. I don't think the title should be defended in anything other than one on one. To be the champ you gotta beat the champ. However, I'm not opposed to the concept of it for a #1 contender.
Worst of 2002 wasn't king of the ring it was unforgiven. The 2 title matches triple h versus rvd wasn't good and ended with flair turning heel and teaming with triple h for the first time. The Main event was brock versus the undertaker that ended in a double disqualification just to set their hell in a cell at no mercy. Also in 03 this video might be right that backlash was the worst but no mercy was bad with Vince versus Stephanie I quit match and brock versus undertaker biker on a chain match main event were both bad matches
Worst thing about RA era was brand exclusive PPV they had to add low quality matches to PPVs and damn can't belive they did same thing in new era (16-18) PPVs during this period were even worse
As a WCW guy, I am so glad that someone agrees with me that WWE brought The GAB back just to make it the worst show of the year. Thank you Tempest. WCW FOR LIFE!!!!
For worst match ever, one I think should be included is Vince McMahan vs Stephanie McMahan. Mostly because I hate Vince and he is a God-awful human being, but also because I heard that the match itself was terrible as well.
Every video leading up to this point on Partsfunknown and the main Wrestletalk channel I have put #Bring_Back_Worst_Match_Ever. I am so unbeleivably happy.
I always thought Show Vs Taker at Survivor Series 08 was good, and Edge returning was cool,You seem to “Forgot” about that. Also You forgot *Card Subject To Change with Jeff Hardy not in a match
“Card subject to change” is not meant to be a free excuse to false advertise. It is meant to cover illness, travel issues, etc. and you don’t need to defend such decisions.
