Love this! The wrong tool approach can be quite fun with modulars. I made a patch for a demonstration in my trauma informed social work class and it was a great challenge. I wanted to mimic the brain's responses to trauma triggers with the ability to be "soothed" by a microphone input from a "counsellor". I used an oscillator to clock a sequencer so it would freeze if it got too fast or too slow, or if the PWM was fully open or closed. The mic input went through Beads so the "memories" would become scattered and fragmented.
You know you’ve found your purpose in life when you’re making brilliant content that couldn’t have been made by anyone else! Looking forward to your future videos
I recently got back into guitar after 20 years away. Falling into the hole of pedal effects reminded me of modular synth and I subscribed to a few mod synth channels, (This one included.) When I saw the title come up in my feed, I thought, "Why do D&D and Mod Synth seem to already go together?" I racked my brain to remember what music channel did D&D stuff, and then remembered that the only reason I know about modular synth is that 4-5 years ago, Matt Colville started talking about it in his livestreams.
It's funny, I was starting to get back into RPGs and about a year ago now I randomly clicked on a Matt Colville video and half way through, a picture of the Maths module pops up on the screen, and it's like "oh, am I home." Also funny, both he and I got into modular around the same time, and where he took the initials "MCDM" (Matt Colville Dungeon Master), I ended up with MCPM (Midcentury Postmodern). Completely random, just a weird coincidence. I mean, I guess it's possible that he and I are the same person, we've never been seen together...
