I bought two of those as gifts and I'm quite jealous to give them away. The phone is big and long.. the screen and feel is just amazing... It's a great phone.
Very good review and video. I bought this phone for a friend and he is very happy with it. The face unlock is apparently very useable, although it does not have a fingerprint scanner.
my redmi 9A is literally un usuable its so slow it takes 30 seconds to load simple apps like goolge chrome snapchat and discord its literally not even usuable
@@bennyefosa5321 the MediaTek Helio G25 is pretty decent for the general use. Given that the screen isn't hi-res, and the battery is huge, everything runs cool, so I think it's pretty decent for an entry level device. Although I'd normally recommend the Redmi 9C, which is a pinch higher in terms of price but the specs are more acceptable in my honest opinion 🙂
@@chrisispoint hey thanks for the response, really appreciate it! the Redmi 9C is definitely better with the Helio G35... but yeah the price makes the difference too
@@bennyefosa5321 yep, totally agree. 🙂 So long as you're within your spending range, either of the two would give a rather decent performance experience 🙂
Ideally, for entry level smartphones, you'd want to go with the current model for the current year. But if this is your budget then go for it, especially if the price had greatly dropped.
I've had this phone for about 2 years and its pretty bad. Can't even go into Google or other apps without struggle. It's very laggy, and I'm gonna buy Xiaomi Poco f4 gt
Chrisispoint i really think about buying that phone. Could you just tell me few things?:) 1. how is the Performance for normal use? (No Gaming) 2. does it has a Blue light filter or also called Reading Mode? 3. and is it difficult to use because of the big Screen? Would be very nice is you could tell me that. :)
@@RandomGuy-ws6td Actually, all the basics were covered in the video 😊 but I'll answer your questions too. 1. How's the performance for normal use: Any smartphone, regardless of the category (entry-level, mid-range or flagship) will perform just fine. The Only real difference is the speed of when launching apps or multitasking. Flagships are the quickest, Mid-range is just right, Entry Level takes .5 - 1 second to launch the app. 2. It does have a reading mode, and most smartphones come with a blue-light filter which helps prevent eye-strains. 3. Difficulty with usage because of the big screen: this is a bit tricky, I tend to change phones from time to time so I'm pretty used to adjusting from a small screen (iPhone SE 4.7" inches) to a big screen (Android phones at 6.0 - 6.7" inches) so this really depends with your preference. 😊 If you're wanting something that is relatively faster but is still "cheap" you can check out the Redmi 9C I also did a review on that on my channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i0y-g0B_fgo.html
it's not a bad phone if it's used for it's intended purpose, if you try to push it too much wherein the processor can't keep up then obviously it will have problems, but having to use 1-2 apps at a time, it worked fine for me.
based on my testing, it was working well. Although because of the whole GCQ bit, I didn't really get to test it as much in terms of LTE connectivity, but so far I have not encountered any signal drops.
@@chrisispoint hi my good friend Chris, can you help me out? I was wondering if this phone, "Redmi 9A", does it support the feature being able to turn on the wifi and mobile hotspot at the same time? Can you try if it works? Cuz I have pocophone f1 and it can turn on wifi and hotspot at the same time... Very cool feature.. it can be used as a wifi repeater... How bout this phone? Can you try it? If it does let you turn on Wifi ang Mobile Hotspot at the same time, let me know :) Other phones turns off wifi if you turn on your mobile hotspot...
Ik that this phone was released back in 2020 and thats also when i bought it, im currently using it to write this comment. I remember this phone being pretty good back then but now its plain garbage, thats why im switching to a nothing phone 1 that is 8gb ram and 256 gigs of storage, really a beast compared to the 9A
hey that's awesome 😊, though I don't think there's anything wrong with getting a new phone, if it works then good if it doesn't fit the lifestyle, then there are other alternatives in the market 😊
It wasn't a joke when it was first released back in 2020-2021 when the vast majority of people who couldn't afford a smartphone just to attend online classes due to the pandemic.
My Redmi 9A Crashes because of RU-vid ads and by writing comments and it has a Keyboard malfunction very often and once i needed one hour to change my Ringtone (you get ads by changing the Ringtone)
it really depends on how you use it. But so far in my testing, not so much. since it comes with entry level specifications, it's not built or designed to do demanding tasks, so it's not going to be that taxing on the battery. COD Mobile as an example, played a few rounds, it didn't heat up as much. Smartphones heat up after usage is normal, it's just more evident with phones made of glass and metal than those made of plastic.
Probably if you bought this in 2023, but a few years back during the lockdowns where most families earning below minimum that had to have their kids attend online classes, this was more than enough.
Technically yes, since the Redmi 9A comes with a relatively larger display. the OPPO A5s has a 6.2" inch display whereas the Redmi 9A comes with a 6.53" inch display. The only key take away is, despite the massive battery, it doesn't feel like it has a massive battery, it's quite light and easy to hold 😁
Well, let's just say they work as intended. The stutters or lags is pretty much expected for a smartphone at this price point but performs fairly decent 😊
Good day I would like to know is it a phone that can be used internationally. I live in Trinidad and Tobago, I want to buy one but I'm a lil hesitant as I don't fully know how the phone might function here.
If it is a global unit then technically it should, but you first need to check with your carrier what anthena bands are supported in your area to get the best possible signal.
The Redmi 9A was released in select markets only. This model is the more entry level version of the Redmi 9 so yes, the Redmi 9 is much better overall. 😊
@@chrisispoint I bought redmi 9a last week but it's like the network for the phone is not all that good. I don't know if I didn't do the settings well. I need your help.Thank you.
Hi @@elizabethatuabu6821, normally I'd recommend to first check if the unit is a global variant or if it is region specific. usually region specific smartphones have issues with anthena bands of what country you're in. second is to determine if the phone supports the anthena bands your sim card is connected to, if basic troubleshooting like removing and putting the sim back in doesn't work, then that would be the problem.
Both the Redmi 9A and the Redmi 9C are entry level budget smartphones from Xiaomi, that uses as Micro USB cable/port. As for the display, If I'm not mistaken it's just a Gorilla Glass 3,so if you plan to get one, better have a tempered glass installed. 🙂
@@McPoning Actually this would be on a case to case basis, it would depend on the developer of the app if they allow the ability to transfer the app to the SD card as some don't, especially the popular apps. You may find some tutorials online on how to bypass this security measure but you may encounter problems in the long run.
well... the 9A is probably the better option. It has updated specifications, a bigger battery for longer gameplay and a bigger screen for a much more enjoyable experience 😄
This is an entry level smartphone, with entry level specifications. So having to run multiple apps, won't be an ideal way to go. Better go for the Redmi Note 9 or higher so the experience meets the expectation 🙂
Which of these would you recommend? - Xiaomi Redmi 9 4gb 64gb for $122 USD OR -Xiaomi Poco X3 6gb for $170 USD I'd like something that will last me for awhile so keep that in mind. Is the Poco worth the extra $50 USD?
All smartphones last a while. It just depends on how much you take care of it. Even the most expensive iPhone can get busted if not handled with care. Redmi 9 (lower end mid range) Poco X3 (higher end mid range). Feel free to check out my full reviews, I have both on the channel. 🙂
