I think I'd go with the D7S since it faster. But the D8 would have a few more special functions.

I never used the IP819, but the D7S is very close to the DB in terms of capabilities. I am dropping a video tomorrow on the D8BT, the wireless unit. Hope this helps you make a decision!

Yes, that is a tough decision. You can't go wrong with either one. I can tell you that based on my experience. The only difference might be that the XTOOL has better key programming capabilities and it might have a few more special functions. As far as being bi directional that is essentially going to be the same with both units.

Congrats on the new purchase. I'm sure you going to love it! I don't think you'll need the KC100. But you could always email ex who and ask them. They're very helpful in answering questions about technical issues if you can use a certain feature or not with your car. But My guess would be you should be good to go and have the key cut by a locksmith or a key shop.

Mine did not have a sign in password. What would work is that if you email tech support and give them a serial number and you can have them to reset any credentials associated with it.

Most people would do their own research. That’s what I done they wouldn’t ask the world that’s just laziness. So basically you don’t know what you’re looking for you do ask dumb questions and you go buy a scanner and it’s not gonna be the one you want you need to know what you want out of that scanner what you wanna do with it what function testing what vehicles what price you want to pay is a very good tool I have not found nothing that that thing will do that the Snap- On will do so there is no comparison other not prices $4500 for a scanner from snap on 10 to 15,000 just for updates and if you really behind you look at 20 to 30,000 just for updates This company gives you three years update free after that scanner is fully functional they don’t take your functional testing away. I’ll never buy a snap scanner again it is better built than snap on. It is got a metal shell around it. Snap on scanners you grab both ends you could twist that scanner this you can’t, it’s heavier belt warranty. You can’t get a four year warranty with a snap on scanner. Somebody’s got deep pockets if they just buy snap on test equipment it’s garbage and what people don’t realize is one thing all that data that’s in no scanners it’s all the same snap on doesn’t write that they just get copyrights and buy it from somebody else, so when you buy this company scanneryou’re buying copyrights to use it for life not will snap on you don’t get life rights. They tell you when it expires because they put her internal timer in there.

You likely can if the mileage is also stored in the ECM. Usually it's only stored in the instrument cluster. You could also go by idle time and hours the car has been driven if your manufacturer added those data PIDs to estimate with.

The D7 and the D8 are similar in a lot of ways. The D8 is a more powerful unit and has a few more special functions. The D8 also has topology. They are a not terribly different, but different. The D7S is a faster since it has Android 10,

It scans all modules that are on the network.

Best thing to do is email XTOOL with the serial number. I hope it works out for you.

@@oneanddonediy that part of my problem. Lol I’ve emailed them a dozen times and even call nobody has returned my calls or my emails. I never received the serial number and certificate of authenticity. I created a account on line and still couldn’t really do anything with it. I quit messing with it and I guess signed off. The next day I tried signing back on the next day and it rejected my password. Plus it recognizes my username (my email address) and won’t let me use it again to make another account

@@oneanddonediy system scan/live date never show fuel trims and MAF only if you select ODB . that's the problem with all these sub 1500-2000 scanners. you get all other PIDs. but not what a 20 dollar scanner shows. Ive tested just about all of them.

@@WV591 Not true. The D7S will show live data for fuel including MAP/MAF/Crank/Cam sensors.
