I swear the audio quality for their live exhibitions is outstanding, there's no other channel that hosts bands and uploads videos with such a high sound recording quality.
Cheryl Waters is a wonderful lady and clearly loves music and what she does. She's a cancer survivor who has remained positive and interested in artists, in spite of her own struggles. Now that's someone to admire.
Oh god this brings back memories. I was in Seattle back in 2010ish and remember listening to you guys on the radio from my hotel and discovering the XX for the first time. I'm from Chicago but dang! Seattle has an amazing music scene!
Well, the xx. There is that. Tremendous performance! Vocally quite solid, musically incredibly tight. Oliver def has a grip on the bass. Romy has an almost "surf" guitar feel (gorgeous) about her. Jamie is... well, as I opine, perhaps, the cohesion these beautiful people need in order to keep being their awesome selves and providing MASSIVE tracks
when oliver made eye to eye, face to face contact with you at the concert because he knew you were sad/crying and slowly smiled at you and waved till you smiled back and waved... such a gentle soul
I saw them when they just started out in Philadelphia at a small club. I was with my ex wife, who was my fiancé at the time. They had just become a 3 piece and I had just heard VCR to check them out before seeing them live. Jamie just had his mpc to fingerdrum on at the time, on a table with a black flag with an X marked in white.
I am absolutely in love with Romy, and Oliver's voice is about the sexiest there is. Then you have Jamie making amazing mixes to make them both sound their best. Love it !
Ever since I heard this record I fell in love with it, but after seing them live a couple of months ago I fell completely in love with them as artists. I think the way they connect with the audience is so unique. I can already tell I will forever be a fan because I'm so interested in them as people, not just as a band.
W As a guitar and bass player with 46 years of experience.....I have to say that the guy behind is amazing, he provides all the beats and ambiance . I do love this band.
In *Hold On* who else noticed the Daryl Hall & John Oates - _I Can't Go For That_ lyrics and voice sample of... [ *"You've got the body"...* _'now you want my soul"_ ]
everytime i hear this music i think of this girl. we really never knew each other and i even said some stupid things about her. but after all these years, i still reach for her. stefanie. i will never forget her.
That rotary mixer on the table is lust-worthy. I think they are about 5 grand. Looks like they got a Korg SQ-1 step sequencer usually used to sequence synth pads. I'd love to case that table up and run off.
It is such a crazy feeling to read these comments and see how postive they are and to see that people actually know their names... Never would i have thought (always dreamed) that they would come this far due to how society is. I LOVE how far they've come. HECK I HAVE A FREAKING XX TATTOO ON ME. goodness. I am so happy. This interview/performance one for the books
