0:16 The sound is NOT yuh, you shouldn’t use the schwa after the sound. If you do, you should say YES as yuhes 😂

Hi Tricky English - Thank you for offering your opinion on "yuh" and the schwa! :)

Some consonant sounds are easier to hear if they are pronounced followed by a vowel sound. Some consonants like /f/, /v/, /s/, /z/, /m/, /n/, /r/ and all the vowel sounds can be pronounced in isolation as long as you have air coming out of your lungs. Other consonant sounds, however, can't be continuous as they stop the air flow at some point in the vocal tract. Sounds like /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /w/, /j/ etc. can't be elongated because you don't have air coming out of your lungs continuously . That's why it's much easier to say and hear certain consonant sounds if they are pronounced followed by a vowel sound especially because during speech we don't say speech sounds in isolation, they are all connected.

I would rather write it in IPA: law [lɑ] → lawyer [ˈlɑjər]

Hi Lingo - Thanks for your comment! Some people pronounce lawyer like you've transcribed it, and some people don't. It just depends on where they're from and how old they are :)
