✌ If you have ever grasped a Yamaha VMAX you will know that it is a distinctive motorcycle. For starters, it is intimidating in its matte black impressiveness and bold lines. Second, in line, it sports a big enough engine to wake up the entire block. Finally, it appeals a little of every line of Yamaha’s long motorcycle-building heritage.

I have been on hundreds of bikes in dozens of country's since 83. I have been 3 or 4 gens of this brute. I would ,for straight line umfff give it a top 5 spot for me all day. A real big and nasty not for the rookie or reckless hack.

It made no sense why it had to be discontinued. Europe's not even much of a market there for motorcycle. Why should the rest of the world be subject to their sensitivities?

It hasn't been discontinued. In the UK we get the newer revamped one of this vid and there is talk of the next one being 2.2 The vid was good considering it was using a voice bot but when they were talking about the 2020 model being the last because of EU emissions regs then even though I am glad we are no longer part of the EU I must be honest here and say that all yamaha did to get the newer revised model through EU regulations was put an extra cat on It. Same as they did on newer R1. The R1 you can buy here today is no faster than the 2015 model its 99% the same bike, the difference is the newest R1 the engine has some slight differences and where you'd usually see a 5-8hp gain on every revamped stage of each bike, well that has now been lost as they still get the 5-8hp gain with refining the engine out on the "revamp" models but it makes zero difference to the overall power hike as they had to chuck another cat in somewhere or make one cat longer so it disrupted the flow more etc👎👎 it's only when you remove all the restrictive junk now do you realise that they have hiked the power up a fair old amount on the engine block... but all that emissions clutter has been hiding the truth and its been costing you a good 3-5mpg in fuel. I'm not even expecting anyone to disagree with me as everything I've just stated is the same as any dyno tuner, racer, owner or anyone using any commuter bike already knows is what's being going on & going wrong for the last 8yrs.

Just because it doesn't comply with European regulations doesn't mean that the rest of the world should miss out. How many would they sell in Europe anyway. Fuel is very expensive there let's keep going Yamaha.
@THEREALZENFORCE

Yamaha sold over 30% of their different generations Vmax bikes in Europe, fuel is expensive but you forgot that many countries in Europe have among the highest GDP per capita in the World, so enough Vmax buyers can pay the fuel. It's more an emissions thing than a fuel price thing

@@THEREALZENFORCE how much further can they go with emissions it's affecting the products. Electricity is here why can't we enjoy the time we have left with ice

What an amazing work of art I've had 2 of these motorcycle's & still own the anniversary model 👌 this Raskel howl's like 2 v rods bolted together 😀 & just breaks wind passing the rocket 3 😁 it catches performance sports bikes through sweeping country roads at a blink of an eye it's a handful the on or off throttle is terribly tiresome riding it hard I've had all the bikes I've mentioned and many others 😀 my favourite bike will always be my Hayabusa 😍 but I've become very aware of how amazing the V-max is appreciating every single moment Im riding this awesome machine that you have to seriously respect every time you ride the max, i suppose im just a motorcycle prostitute 😀

Depends on your style of driving. But that engine is a massive engine and If you call for performance it deliveres. Power comes from fuel. Get a TW200 instead If you care for consumption or costs.

Had a 1200cc VMax street pipes & played beautiful music. It was a beast not made for old bones. Just a beautiful bike all round. The only negative was a too small gas tank.

Not in production anymore. Oh well, the Rocket R3 then... It would've been this if they still made it.

Had a '94 1200 V-boost Max. Everyone commented on the looks. One tough guy wanted to fight me just at the sight of me on it. He wouldnt have liked the taste of my helmet, as shoving it down his throat would have been my only chance to survive. Would like a tilting 2 wheel front end, and a huge width rear wheel to handle the tire-eating nature of the beast. Digitable adjustable shocks for Gold-Wing sofa-ride to beast mode at the spin of a dial. For the days you need not to be beaten up, because beat you it would. Stock pipes made better music than a church pipe organ. A machine fit for a young god.
