Hey 米粒, long time no see! As a Chinese now residing in Sweden and getting to learn some Swedish, I feel touched when Sansan speaks a bit Swedish like 'vi kör tre timmar' and appreciate traditional routines of celebrating CNY as well. Hope u and ur kids have a smooth life in the year of dragon!
Always lovely to see you again, Miriam. It must indeed have been a long 4 months with all the travelling and 2 kids. I look forward to seeing your travel videos, hearing about life in the city, and seeing more of Chinese New Year. It is always so lovely to watch your MIL making food. Her hands are so beautiful as she works - they are so secure in what they are doing. Everytime I see her making food I just want to come and eat! It is lovely seeing you look so well and relaxed. I hope SanSan and Lian enjoy their new school and wish you all a lovely new year!
Aw, thank you so much! The next video is about my mother-in-law, and how she spend Chinese New Year as a child, and she cooks the food they ate back then which is quite different from now. I think you will like it ❤️
You look happy and beautiful, Miriam. The new couch looks family-friendly and cosy. How fast the children are growing! The International School will suit them perfectly, knowing two Countries already. I was thrilled to see you all once more and cannot wait for the next video. Many blessings to you.
So good to see your lovely family again. Thank you for the update in English !! I wish you an inspiring time in the city and happy new beginnings for the boys ! Much love from your Dutch friend in California
So glad to see you again! Thanks for sharing your family adventures with all of us. The boys are growing fast - its exciting to hear they're starting school. Best wishes to you & the family this New Year.
Love your storytelling & the China you share through your lens. As someone who was born and raised for the first 6 years of my life there, I feel such a lovely, deep nostalgia when I watch your videos.
Wow, Miriam you look fantastic with your beautiful hair and new glasses. You also look radiant so whatever you have been doing, whether it be the travelling, the CNY partying, the settling down or whatever... it has done you lots of good. It's exciting that Sansan and Lian will be going to International School. It won't be long and they'll both be fluent in Chinese, Swedish and English and as they're just learning it naturally from yourself and Yonghong, they won't have the difficulties that teenagers have sitting in a classroom learning to read, write and speak another language (it was French at my school back in the mid 1980's and I was useless) Amazing to think they'll be trilingual and they may learn more languages as they get older. Sending lots of love to you all. I look forward to your next video. / Gena 🏴🇬🇧
HI Miriam, I'm so happy for your travels...life is always complex - but you have a husband and two boys that adore you - you can do it! I'm so glad you're safe! Always, the kindest regards, Suzanne
Good to see you and hear from you again Miriam....see you got a hair cut too! Living in a city will surely be different. Glad you are seeing it in a positive light and making the best of it for the children's education. Looking forward to seeing the videos of your travels.
Good to see you Miriam! Happy New Year to you, Yonghong, Sansan and Lian. It's good they will be going to school. Looking forward to your upcoming videos!
Now that Xining is your home base, so looking forward to more about the city! I grew up in a four story apartment building across from 人民公园。 So different now, but the park is still there!
It would be great if you do a video together with "Katherine's Journey to the East". She is an American of Swedish descent. You can find out if she can speak Swedish at all, ha ha! She is an environmentalist working for the Zhejiang Province in the Green Zhejiang Organization. She got her Masters from Nanjiang University.
I visited her during the road trip, and will make a mini documentary (portrait) about her actually! It will be quite a while before I can post though, have so many videos in line before. But she is an absolutely lovely person, and the area she lives in is so pretty!!!
Always so good to see your updates. Really feels like a friend telling me her experience and then looking so beautiful with such messy hair!😍 Happy Chinese New Year and love having you back!
I thought about you guys recently when my husband and I took our son, same age as Lian, on a vacation to Japan/ screaming tour across Japan. It was both deeply healing and absolutely exhausting to be away from our routine. Routine really is a blessing and a curse for us parents. But your new setup sounds really promising. Excitement of the city, with the option of retreating to the country side any time. Some regular help with the kids, and plans for smaller trips in the future. Seems like a great balance. Looking forward to the fruits of your newfound alone time!
Everything is fine with you now, but I really want to see your life in Sweden. Everything has an ultimate peaceful beauty. I look forward to seeing that day.
Those loving hands of your mother in law ! Your beautiful boys and your handsome husband. ! I like to check in now and then. Inloop forward to more updates, Miriam. Great reporting ! Thank you !
How lovely to see you all!! Thankyou for letting us have a small peek into what you're doing. I can't wait to see what you decide to share with us. Be well. I hope the boys enjoy school.
So great to hear San San speak swedish, allthough I didn't understand a word of it! Wonderful they are going to an international school, does that mean they learn english as well?😊 Greetings from the Netherlands
Miriam, I wonder if you can do videos in Swedish, your native language. There are currently very few (if I'm correct, none) vloggers in China doing videos in Scandinavian languages. You can use English subtitles of course. Yes, I know that people from Scandinavia usually can speak and understand English too. But I think doing stuff in Swedish will probably make it easier for you to speak from your soul. At least that's what I feel like when speaking in my mother tongue. I think for your videos, the information aspect is now secondary. You are making art so let it flow from your soul. Your kids speaking Swedish are very cute!
It's so great to see you back. I can imagine how hard it must have been on the road with the kids. I always think that being on holiday with little kids is actually not a holiday. It's much easier at home with a routine. I can't wait to see your new content.
So nice to see you again! Happy New Year! We were in Malaysia during Chinese New Year, the decorations were amazing and I've never heard so many firecrackers in my life! So glad your back and looking forward to more of your beautiful videos🐉🥰
Life is every year you learn a new things you make mistake you learn in the new year come, you learn from your mistake and keep on going until the day you come no matter what nationality you are everybody doing the same thing can run away from mistake, you couldn’t makebut you need to learn your mistake. Life is life.
Does anyone agree with me when I say Yonghong's nephew doesn't look typically Han Chinese to me (each time I saw him I feel the same way). He's a bit of that Uyghur East-West look, or like some central asians Kazakhstani look. I've every reason to believe Yonghong might have some non Han Chinese blood in his family ancestry. Miriam, you actually look, how should I say, more refreshing and younger with your hair down...
I think a lot of Han Chinese people here do look a bit non-typical. There are a lot of minorities here, so I think many are mixed. Yonghong even has red beard (like his grandpa). One day I want to do a DNA test!
@@MiriamFollin I learnt from Toutiao (or Douyin) the stunning scenery along Qinghai 214 National Expressway (青海214国道) heading to Yishun (玉树). I think it connects to Tibet 317 National Expressway. Perhaps one day you visit there to capture the stunning valleys, rivers and mountains, and perhaps grassland during summer. I will definitely visit Qinghai one day, perhaps I will visit Mangya 茫崖.
@@gliu1431 We are actually going to Yushu this month to film! I'm planning to make a short documentary, and also to make some other short videos. Really looking forward to it - and also looking forward to summer when we can visit beautiful places in Qinghai with a tent! It really is an amazing place, the landscape is so varied and vast.
