The "yes" that changed Matthew's life. (Season 1, Episode Seven) 

Almost thirty seven years ago, Jesus said follow me. And just like Matthew did here, I left everything behind. Thank you Jesus for calling me. I love you so much!❤❤❤

The shepherd leaves the 99 to go after the one who’s going to stray. I thank God that he has called me.

His timeless words to all of us. "Follow me." He knows YOU. He loves YOU.

"Follow Me." These are two of the most beautiful and spectacular words when said by our Lord Jesus.

How lucky were the people of the Bible to be able to eat with, laugh with, hug and follow Jesus. To be able to actually hear him speak ❤ But the pain they went through to see him suffer so much in the end. But the REJOICING when he rose again, man wow. What a time 🩷🩷🩷🩷

As a young teenage boy i decided to say YES TO JESUS and I've never regretted ever since even with all the challenges and difficulties: it worths it.

Even if you don't know Jesus. Remember..... HE KNOWS YOU!

I cry every time I watch this episode of the Chosen. He made the best decision of his life.

Not too long ago my dad taught me that I must leave my old life behind in order to live freely with God in my heart. I feel the difference and its amazing! Praise the Lord!

I love the look on Gaius’s face so much. That look of confusion, like “what on earth could make you throw away what you have?” And the conviction in Matthew’s face, like “it’s not enough and it will never be enough if I don’t follow Him”.

Matthew didn’t even flinch… he just went and gave it ALL up!!! That’s incredible! He knew exactly what he was doing. ❤

I was born ina Christian family, but never really followed Jesus until my 19th year. That's when I really had an encouter with Jesus. Was at a club to celebrate a friend's birthday, when I heard the Lord say "Didn't I tell you to stop going to such places? (And yes, He did tell me before but I was too stubborn) Let Me show you why." The things I saw in the spirit... i can't even begin to tell, it would take me hours 😅 Long story short, I ran back home, straight to my room, locked the door, put on some worship music and started crying, asking Jesus to forgive me. I said I'd give myself fully to Him if He deemed me worthy to serve Him. And He said, "If only you knew how much I love you." Those words, that kindness, that love... I'll never forget that moment until my last breath. So yeah. That was almost 16 years ago, and until now, I never turned back. Jesus is so amazing, God is so amazing, I can't imagine my life without Him ❤

Matthew is the most precious

My name is Matthew. Love this series because whenever Jesus talks to Matthew so reassuringly, I can kinda pretend he’s talking to me… Praise the Lord! 🙏🏻❤️

I thought it was fascinating that they portrayed Matthew as being on the autism spectrum. I'd never considered it before (it's a little difficult to tell these things through layers of translation) but it makes sense when i reread his book. This scene really resonates with me - even socially impaired people like Matthew can add value to a group and are deserving of Jesus' love.

That commitment alone, made him the first man to write the Gospel. There is so much commitment to God can do to us as we yield to him. Let's yield more brethren.

We all find ourselves asking the savior the same thing, and when we don't watch ourselves we act like Simon. Such a great scene that shows us how we should act in both cases

When Jesus calls, one must answer!

At the age of 19,I heard Jesus’ voice to’Follow’. I never thought for a second what would come- it was a knee jerk reaction. I was laughed at by every friend, but one. I’m 70 yrs old now. I still am close with the friend who understood . It has been a deep very fulfilling life. God is beyond definition.

God changed my life similarly to this. I was doing good with money, my dad would give me cars, and I always had a young beautiful lady by my side. I gave it all up to follow Jesus and He has transformed me and my family, I get to spend quality time with them, and I love my life now because I get to serve an AMAZING GOD, hallelujah God is good ❤🙌🏽

It must have been wonderful to see Jesus in the flesh. I hope we all will one day.

I love these scenes where Jesus chooses his 12, but also love how Gaius grows a bit softer with each episode as well.

This sets the tone perfectly with how things would've played out when Jesus was calling his 12. The call to the unlikely and rejected of society. We needed to see this.

One of the most beautiful moments ( out of so many beautiful moments) in The Chosen I love how shocked Matthew was to be called, who of us is actually worthy to be called? None of us! Yet Jesus says “yes you, follow me” oh thank you Jesus I love you 🥰

That "YES" was so subtle and refreshing. You could smell the "shock" coming from Gaius.

I love "The Chosen" and how the script was written and acted out in a way that's relatable and understandable, even if it's more modern in language or dialect than they used in the time. The scenes draw me in like I'm there as a witness.

I love the look Mary has when Jesus first calls Matthew. It's like, "Oooh I know that his life is going to change!" kind of look. It's perfect for this scene

One of my most FAVORITE parts!! I would never of hesitated either if I had been Matthew too!!! I absolutely ADORE this series and it has truly strengthen my faith!! This is such a poignant and beautiful scene it brings tears to my eyes every time. It’s so meaningful and just portrays how Jesus knows us. He knows what we’ve done and yet he’s willing to accept us with open arms and asks us to follow HIM!

I love how they portray Giaus, like he genuinely cares about Matthew here and even later. IIRC he even checks up on Matthew in later episodes, making sure he's doing alright.

I just finished this episode on my lunch break! So far this is my favorite one! The ending scene with Jesus meeting with the head pharisee was so powerful! Christ is King!

This is one of my a favorite scenes for many reasons: one of which is the “yes” that answered both Matthew and Simon’s question at the same time😊. But also it reminds of that we are called to leave everything we have and hold as valuable….to gain the greatest gift of all…Salvation.

One of my favorite scenes! I've watched it many, many times. Still brings tears to my eyes.

I have truly lost count of how many times I've watched this but each time Matthew says "you want me to join you"?, with that truly confused voice, I burst into tears...and then of course I giggle when he rushes out the door. This show is truly amazing!
