Thanks. I wish the video quality was better and the background sounds were not as loud as they were. Maybe I'll do another video on this when the insects die off in the winter and I can show another option for lashing vegetation to the frame.
***** I had learned that a long time ago and forgot all about it. You did a fantastic job. It is one of the most useful things to know. Thanks. Also I have that same Stanley cooking kit, and was delighted to see your usage. All the best.
prospero matthews I learned that skill in my late teens from a guy in the military. It's always a good technique to keep in your tool box of ideas. For the money, I'm pretty happy with the Stanley mess kit. I'll be getting some more in the future.
***** I forgot to mention that when I got the Stanley kit I tested heating very cold water with a penny stove, and like 1.5oz of "Yellow Heat" almost got the full container to simmer. Just a mention for an add to the bag in cold, wet or low detection. And thanks for the key ring suggestion. Clean-matter of fact- genius digestion of the obvious. Truly an understated 10.0 on the MacGyver scale. Super Mod.
@Jarhead Thanks for watching! I nearly forgot about this video. Despite this being uploaded 4 years ago, it was actually filmed nearly 7 years ago. These days, unfortunately, I do not have as much free time to film as I did back then. Welcome to the channel.
This was a quick 20 minute task to complete from start to finish. If more time permits it could be made better. I've had people actively searching for me, coming within touching distance, and I was never discovered. The hardest part was not busting out laughing.
You made it look easy, but good stuff to share with those into surviving and hiding. I think I would of busted out laughing too with friends trying to find me. That might of been a sight to see on video, someone looking around and then you slowly coming up behind them surprising them. Take care JH.
Red October Practice makes perfect with anything. I'm still a little rusty because I don't do this everyday. One time I went camping with some friends in the mountains and wandered off during the night. They knew I was going to sneak up and try to freak them out. I did a sniper low crawl for 50 yards up to the edge of the camp, meanwhile they were shining their flashlights everywhere trying to locate me. My friends never expected I had a woven mat of ferns tied to my back!
