As the keenest of the keenest fans of Terry Riley's soundscapes and ideas since time immemorial, I must say this rendition is absofuckinglutely awesome. Massive tx TYG ❤
This is what I call aging in style! The Young Gods were one of the main bands of my youth. They always knew how to evolve without repeating themselves. Thanks!
Mindblowing 3D sound, I will take the jurney thruth this pice of art for a long time.... manny thanks for it, waiting to see you live in south part of Poland
I stumbled across this video a few weeks ago, and I’ve listened to your performances of in C (this and the live versions) most days since. Never a great fan of “in C”, this version somehow speaks to me. (And also apparently to my 17 month old daughter who was just dancing along to the opening of it. 😂 ) Simply amazing version, with great attention to detail. Love it!
This is tremendous, to say the least, I'm so glad YT recommended it to me. I have enjoyed Young Gods for years, and to hear them perform one of my favorite minimalist pieces is a real treat. Wonderfully done, guys, and a great documentary/performance.
I already loved this before I saw the documentary and was told who Terry Riley was and what connection he has to this album. A stunningly brilliant and on one level a simple musical concept. One of my favourite albums of the year, thank you Young gods.
Many years ago I saw The Young Gods in the Effenaar Eindhoven and they inspired me (us) a lot + a lot older now still creating music this video inspired me again!! Thanks a lot!! I would love to see you live again, maybe playing this piece. Take care out there!!
True Audio Architects! From the 2 decades plus that I have known The Young Gods, they continue forging their non mistakeable sound into the future. Never 1 to fall back on yesteryear, they simply take what is given to them or chosen upon, and literally dissect, strip, manipulate and re-create a new interpretation of the body of work as only they can. There is no other band in the World like these Swiss maestro's, and I am happy as fuck to experience it while I am alive. Keep on keepin on Boyz....Cafe Soundz in da house! Bobby Lisi
On a papoté 5 minutes, beau souvenir.
À quand les versions vinyles des albums ambient : Heaven Deconstruction & Music For Artificial Clouds ? Please : )- All the best !!!!
Absolutely fascinating intro; it finally helped me understand the genius of Terry Riley's in C. Thank you. I've been listening to the YGs for 35 years now; dearly hope to get over to Europe and see you live soon!
Absolutely stunning piece of work lads. Been a fan ever since you played my home town of Walsall many moons ago and it should have been my first proper gig as was asked to go, but sadly I didn't go but all my friends did. That following week they all played your stuff and I immediately became a huge fan swearing I would go next time you played, got into treponium pal who were the support act and my friends also played me. Of course you have never played here since much to my eternal regret. Did get to see you once at the Phoenix Festival and it's still one of my favourite ever gigs with faith no more dancing along with the crowd watching you, the only sad thing about that was not all the group of friends were able to watch it as the other act we all wanted to see was the equally remarkable Cardiacs who of course were playing the second stage at the same time so we split in two groups and they also were fantastic. The strange thing was they were my first proper gig that I went to the week after missing you guys all those years before...and you are still two of my favourites all these years later so thanks for all the years of pleasure
Outstanding and fascinating as ever with TYG. The drum work is nothing short of exceptional. Not mentioning that I'm always partial to someone like Cesare who uses Sennheiser HD 25 studio headphones 🤗
Blissful, to say the least. TYG never fail to amaze, from the early "industrial sound" to the more recent "psychedelic soundscapes", they nail it every time. Like many (I guess), I had no idea of Riley's seminal work. Now, thanks to TYG (and the documentary part of the video), not only do I know, but I've also understood "in C". Excellent oeuvre, les gars. Merci!
I think this is music that I will actually be listening to or just have it playing when doing this and that - this really works for me. A true discovery.
