The little awkwardness, clumsiness, and outspokenness that ZL displayed here are so natural and so smoothly done that it doesn’t come off as disingenuous and trying too hard to act cute. Only she can pull this character off. It’s like the character Niaoniao was tailor made for her. I never get tired watching her dramas. She knows how to act funny and cute without going over the top.
@@kirankangokar2690lol sorry but after her performance with Dylan I highly doubt that. She is great but LS's talent in acting especially in crying seen can't be compared to anyone
@@maryjoybico4262i couldn't agree more,, dk what come to me that i was wacthing EY & DW dramas (i forget the title) i was reading the comment, they say it was good, but not for me.. LLTG 10times better, i was hook up since the first eps😂
I genuinely love just how laid back this whole scene was. Yes, Shaosheng made a bit of a blunder, but the Emperor and Empress took it in stride, and this only endeared her to them! The role of Cheng Shaosheng was truly made for ZL!
@@Brit626 Heartbreak would do that too, especially to a 15 year-old. In five years after that, she was obviously in deep depression, secluded, making wine, and still thinking about him.
am just laughing at this snippet because no matter the imperfections of NN (from being childish to somewhat outspoken) the emperor and empress saw no wrong with her most important is zisheng being a confirmed bachelor never wanting to marry had suddenly fallen for NN and the emperor is having so much fun teasing General Cheng and Mrs Cheng because he knew that Zisheng is in love with NN but no one else does. 🤣
The way she reasons through to the right answer even after her misinterpretation of the saying was quite endearing. And I love her how her father was proud of her speech and reasoning was so cute. If her parents were at home she may have a great life under such a doting father.
@@arilu89x - only if he was a widower, because her 'mother'(& I use that word for familial description only) was and is a physical and emotional abuser to NN. you can see why NN does what she does later on. For me, I think this bitch is forgiven far too easily. Even here someone pays NN a compliment & she beams, the woman immediately insults her & the happy smile fades. Every.Single.Time.
Lusi so effortlessly can bring forth a believable character that is inexperienced, young, and unjaded by politics and proper etiquette. NN is so joyful and genuine in this moment which is a 100 times better than someone who puts on false airs to your face and backstabs the minute you're gone, its easy to see why the Emperor and Queen loved her so much, its a refreshing change from their normal companions and children who are all actively vying for royal favors.
Ok but the murderous glare her mother keeps on shooting her is giving me flashbacks of the look my mom used to give me as a kid whenever we’re outside 😭😭😭 good job to the actress who played the mother, this is horrifying
The process of elimination she went through to guess the author of the quote showed that her mind is quite systematic, which is in line with her character being mechanically inclined.
Zhao Lusi is such a wonderful instinctive actress she carries so many scenes by herself and brings others along for the ride this drama is so well written and produced, love like the galaxy, princess agents and legend of Yun Xi chinese drama's at their very best
Yeah, the mum gets a lot of flack for being too harsh, but I don't doubt that she genuinely loves Niao Niao. But because she'd been absent in her life for so long, letting her be raised abusive by her grandmother and aunt it's put a lot of strain on their relationship. Plus I reckon there's definitely some repressed guilt on her mother's part.
You haven't seen her order her female soldiers to give her a military beating with sticks, have you. LOL. Her motherly love is questionable. Of the babies she chose to leave behind, she gave away the girl. When she returned, she expected a perfect daughter, and when presented with NN, all she could think of was how to shape her into something else instead of loving her like the missing mom she had been in this girl's life. And oh, let's not even bring in how she treated Yang Yang like a loving mother and favored her openly, hurting NN's self-worth even more.
Watched and loved this drama. One of my favorites from this year. The empress ends up being a far better mother to her than her own mother. Her mother loved her, yes, but she crossed the line big time with how she thoroughly insulted Niaoniao's character in front of the whole court. It was so uncalled for and I could not forgive the character for that. She talked down to NN every chance she got and continually compared her unfavorably to her cousin. Knowing NN's personality, I'm surprised she put up with so much disrespect from her mom for so long. Anyhows, if I hadn't already watched this, this clip would have made me watch it
Exactly. The 'mother' was vile. She abused NN physically and emotionally all her life. Even here, every compliment she gets from the royal couple, her 'mother' snatches away by insulting her. I can understand why NN chooses the queen over her mother later on. I think her 'mother' is forgiven far too easily. Even royal consort Yue, who is naturally a sharper tongued person than the queen, is kinder and more loving to NN than the woman who birthed her. I loathe Mrs cheng.
@@troublemcallister730 I can completely agree! When Mrs. Cheng was telling NN that "mother loves her/begs for forgiveness" I openly scoffed! I thought it was ridiculous that this woman, who consistently tore her own child down, would then resort to begging when she actively chose Empress Xuan over her own mother. NN was five years old when she left, and on top of that, she was left with people who didn't have NN's best intentions in mind! This alone is unforgivable in my opinion because you KNOW how certain people in your family are, so why would you leave your child in their care?
@@Brit626 - Also, and most hurtfully, was when her MOTHER told her the EMPEROR he shouldn't agree to her OWN DAUGHTER marrying the general. My jaw actively hit the floor on that one. Then she attacked her when they were alone as if she'd forced him into proposing to upset her! ACK! Her forgiveness was far, far too quick.
@@troublemcallister730 Yes! However, I think NN forgave her mother purely because of filial piety. I don't think that NN would ever forget what her mother did to her, or what was said.
Amazing actress too because she didn't use this big smile at all for the later scenes at the end after being disillusioned with love and life. Her happy smile at the finale was not this smile. Love Lusi's acting.
Gosh ZL totally nailed this part and she is so adorable. She is amazing and I love all her dramas ❤❤❤. Wishing you success and fortune in all that your do ZL❤😘❤😘
I have yet to watch the drama but just from seeing this clip --🤣 I've got to! It's the clumsiness, the awkward gesturing the fact that even if her parents tried to prepare her that it probably went in one ear and out the other. I love that it all feels very sincere. I've watched a lot of dramas were our FL is always competent and witty and just a tad clumsy enough to fall into the ML's arms. It's refreshing to see this kind of heroine. Can't wait to watch this drama! I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of laughs (at least that's the goal. Every time I think something is going to be lighthearted there's some major angst)
Definitely watch it! My friend tried to get me to watch it but I resisted because of the number of episodes. Turns out I would have happily welcomed an additional 20 episodes 😂. It's that good
I can watch LLTG over and over again and ZL's acting as the silly, unrepentant, careless yet endearing NN cracks me up all the time. She definitely nailed this teenage character to perfection. I'm watching her newest one, Hidden Love, and she's adorable in there. Yet I keep going back to LLTG. She is the only Chinese actor that I've seen so far that can be paired to any ML and you wish them to get married already. Lol. But Leo Wu tops everyone else.
Queen of Chemistry. And she could act different characters--ShaoShang vs Bai Fengxi vs Sangchi vs the Princess in Long Ballad (sorry, name escaped me right now). All so different!
@@tashaonlyher long ballad princess character is my favorite. The scene where she cries when that little boy does is soooo soo good. She is such a Greta actress
At this moment they don't care about her manners, is just refreshing to meet her because they know Zisheng is so in love with her. And they are seeing why for themselves
Clumsy and awkward regarding court etiquette, but DAMN does she drop an educated philosophical bomb! Any worthy suitors who appreciate her smarts out there?
This is my first taste of Zhao Lusi and man she is one great actress I can't count how many time I've watched this and other clips. I'll be watching more of her from now on!
This drama must be classified as super comedy! Hilarious😂, witty, pranks 😜! Romance also in there😏 revenge.. Goodness!! Full package drama... Happy ending.. Everything you experience in life.. Many things you wish to have in life... Top notch acting, customers, plot.. Very satisfying... Worth a Grammy💯
I find it really hard to understand the parents reactions. sometimes they laugh, sometimes they worry, sometimes they look embarrassed, but they dont show the same emotions to similar behavior. One moment a statement makes them laugh and next moment a very similar statement makes them worry... wheres the logic in their reactions?!
Zhao Lu Si 😍🤣 is so much 😙😘 cute 🥰.. I like her ... My favourite actress c drama only is you jie jie 😘✌️ your all movement impressed 😁 me .. from Nepal 🇳🇵🇳🇵
@@WGBMania I watched many kdramas in the past but when I came across to her in a girl arrived at the imperial university, I find her cute and explored all her dramas so I started watching Chinese because of her..she acts better than my fav actresses in kdramas
