Seems like Zeze wanted him to push or speak on the Afrobeat/Dancehall division and whether Afrobeat copies Dancehall. Im so happy that he set it straight and said we were one. Music comes full circle. Africa create the basis to all music (not just Afrobeat) and is still heard is all music. Dancehall's influence is incomparable. We are brothers and sisters and whether something is created from Africa by Africans or in the Caribbeans by Caribbeans it doesn't matter, we are one. I love Beenie Man for this.

Exactly she wasn’t very cleaver with it, he was older and wiser enough to see what she was trying to do! We originated from Africia First so that’s the basis of all music, period ! we all one I would understand if it was a European country she was trying to turn him against but African artists, she silly. Also if she researched she will see he featured on a number of Afro beat tracks 😫😂

We are all black but at the end of the day every black nation has it differences and I am glad for this interview because people will be in denial about where the original source of dancehall comes from, how the Jamaican music influence has spread and been incorporated and teefed into other music. Truth and right is truth and right and people don't want to admit certain things. Jamaicans have the African bloodline so they use their African drum they brought with them in their music but how we beat that drum, the rhythm Jamaican have created is like no other and is native, specific, original and unique to Jamaica. There is alot of cultures around the world that has incoperated the Jamaican sound and image to better their music and image and cannot be themselves without it. I am glad for this interview because one thing I like about Jamaicans, they don't try cat or be something else they are who they are and stand firm and confident in it. They will be around other cultures and won't change themselves for anything. They don't have to be nothing else or beg nothing else they are themselves and forever be a bless set of people for the musical and educational influences they given to the world. Gwarn zeze millz xxxx

Beenie Man is a gen, love his catalogue of music. Well done Zeze! Love the dynamics of this interview, Zeze sat and listened to the elder when whilst he dropped gems. Beenie Man seems like the type of man to be throwing wisdom in proverbs at the dinner table, love it👌🏾 I totally agree with what he said about giving credit - paying homage. In Igbo we say "Onye fee ézé, ézé eruo ya: He who pays homage to the king becomes a king." If you completely disregard those that have come before you, those coming behind you will equally do the same to you. You must show respect to gain respect👑 On a final note, Beenie actually rates African music, he has a collaboration with Igbo Highlife singer Flavour from Nigeria titled 'Sawa Sawa' which is a follow up to Flavour's 2005 hit single 'Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)'.

My mother sent me to Jamaica every summer. I remember going to my first dancehall concert at age 11 with my uncles and seeing Beenieman and Lady Saw. I remember Beenieman being on stage saying " all of the man who no bow put your hand in the air and say yow ! " I remember my uncle saying to me " youth you must not eat under skirt, because that is sadomite thing." And there was a Rasta beside us chanting "fire for bow cat, fire for bow cat," every few seconds. He was also smoking the stinkiest ganga in the world.

Probably one the best interview here he actually spoke about interesting subjects and covered like a good variety of discussion without the interview even being long. Educated people about his journey into how he formed into Beenie man, on the history on how it link with the UK's, talk about different cultures in music, spat some game as well the way he was speaking and explaining things made you think. Feel like a lot of the other guests just say stuff that's obvious or what you already know or they've said before just talking for the sake of it, sometimes they give basic answers a nd you don't learn too much from them, sometimes it's the same kinda story with the more general guests in the UK coz the scene is too compact it ain't diverse in types of people and styles so you know what to expect.
