you can do this on the mx5 fx loop block bro,..after putting up the fx loop block in the chain (usually i put it before the IRs that is last in my chain), go out to the send for the direct sound. just turn the “mix” parameter to zero “0” the “direct sound volume” would now be the “send” parameter. hope this helps, let me know if it works for you.

Awesome. I figured somehow there had to be a way to do it. Thanks for sharing the info.

Great videos. They’ve helped me get up to speed quickly. Used the B6 live in church this morning for the first time with the XLR. Impressive! Learned a bit from watching these videos. Thanks!

@@terrymcgaha3560Thanks. I am trying to get an idea of how best to use the IRs, meaning do I use an amp or just a preamp? I am also considering purchasing an MXR Bass compressor so I can free up an effect slot. I am also trying to figure out how to volume balance patches and decide if it is better to store individual EQ (or filter) settings on each patch or leave them flat and use the global EQ.

@@thefool2007have you decided on the external MXR pedal? I’m considering adding external compression just to free up B6 space, just can’t decide if it’s worth it.

@@DrewLaughlinTheFirstHi Drew. Still investigating compressor pedals. I like the idea of having a separate compressor for consistency (as the first part of the signal chain before the passive volume pedal) and to free up a slot (processing space) on the B6. I am looking at the MXR compressor and the UA 1176 pedal (which is a digital copy of a rack compressor). I really like the Cali76 but it is more than I want to spend (although it could be the best compressor pedal). -Rick

Sorry for the late reply!!! I myself would always utilize the global eq unless it drastically changes the tone of your other patches. IR’s, I don’t use much only because I haven’t found one that I couldn’t do with the onboard preamps or amps. And as far as the choice between those, amps and preamps hold the same roll as each other. It’s really a matter of preference and I use them both depending on the tone I am looking for.

your video inspired a feature request, i'd suggest making one for yourself on the headrush forums as well.
