many years ago i meet up with a Zoroastrian priest and asked him how could i become a follower of his faith. he asked me why i wanted to become a Zoroastrian, i said because it sounded good. he told me i am a Zoroastrian if i be a good person and do good things. Unlike Islam or Christianity he had no interest to convert me.
Matthew Vahedi As a Zoroastrian which was not converted by priests or family, and as an Aryan, I can see why a priest would act in that way and not accept you. Iranian (Aryan) peoples have different inherent/genetic behaviourisms from other peoples, and the concept of bringing in converts to the fold would mean accepting mixing of peoples, which would mean the bastardisation of Iranian integrity: the corruption of Aryan thought patterns, history, inclinations. I believe this may be why a Zoroastrian priest may not accept a convert. But then again, most Zoroastrians, especially the Indian Parsees (fake Zoroastrians) will definitely not allow foreign entities into Zoroastrianism.

Brock I rather call it a "philosophy" than a religion. Original teachings from Zoroaster didn't contain "Heaven and Hell". There is no god but Ahuramazda (great wisdom) and you should use your brain to distinguish bad from good. There is no abrahamic god who punishes you or forbids you anything or want you to obey him. This is what original Zoroastrianism is, based on knowledge rather than fantasy. Zoroaster was a Philosopher no prophet.

***** Read that^ ***** The Seljuks and Ghaznavids were Turks who ruled Iran but they were better than the Safavids because they promoted Persian culture wherever they went. I'm not saying that they weren't brutal (Just ask those HINDU Afghans and Christian ANATOLIANS, who are both now Muslims). Anyhow, the Ghaznavids and Seljuks were both pro-Persian dynasties, who intermixed with Persians, promoted Persian scholarship, and employed Persian officials, one notable example being Nizam ul-Mulk. Nizam was an ethnic Persian who was the de-facto ruler of Iran for 20 years and held absolute power as the Vizier of the Seljuk Sultunate. Once the Safavids came, they butchered everyone who didn't want to become Shia. They killed off what remained if Iran's Zoroastrian, who may have numbered as high as 15% of Iran's population prior to the Safavid conquest. Finally, don't forget that the Safavids established the Shia clergy in Iran. Most of the clerics were brought over from Lebanon and given full authority over the Iranian people ***** d. Bottom line: Safavids were pretty bad, almost as bad as Timur.

I am a Christian and I must say I realy like this religion even if it is not my own religion I respect it as if it was my own!! Actually it was, Medes were very religious during ancient times. They were prominent in religion and uphold the traditions when Cyrus the great took over the power from his uncle King Astyages of Median empire.

Than we agree on something, I too don't like religions that say you have to kill someone of no reason. The only time you should kill someone is in self defense and even than that sould only be used if there's no other way. @Wanda7771 I am not Zoroastrian, but have done research recently on this amazing religion. The religion was overwrought in the 7th Century as the Arabs attacked Persia, and eventually defeated the Sassanian Army. When the last ruler in the Sassanian Era, Yazdegard III, was murdered in 651, the 400 year reign of Sassanians and the height of Zoroastrianism came to an end. The Arabs eventually left (thus why Iranians are still Persians and not Arab), but their Islamic legacy continues.

As a Muslim I've always been interested in other religions, so I enjoyed this short video full of information, its unfortunate about some of the comments about Muslims below, the impression I'm getting of Zoroastrians is that they hate Muslims far more than I realised before looking into this religion. As people of any faith or religion I think you'd gain more from educating people, if you have grievances about Islam and Muslims mention them but there is a way about everything and hating people for the sake of it doesn't get you anywhere.
