I knew the Amy W. Version but then went to a Darius Rucker concert where he sang a more Zutons version. I was like, wait a minute, did Amy W. do a cover version? So, searched RU-vid & found the Zutons! Glad I did! Original is the best. And now I love all of their songs!
@@FFM0594well Amy did what she did and she added that flavor there wasn’t any style like hers cause she’s so powerful/jazzy honestly both hit hard but the zutons are rock baby, and rock is where it all started. That being said long live Amy & the zutons ♥️🤘♾️
Zutons wrote a good song. Mark and Amy did a version that made it mega- popular and internationally known. It’s synonymous with Amy Winehouse now but it’s made the Zutons an absolute mint !! They’re happy as it’s made them richer and better known. They’ve survived to perform more and literally everyone knows the lyrics and sings along guaranteeing their increased popularity !! That’s a pretty cool Win!!
Bloody loved the Zutons seen them a few times mid 2000,s my fave must be radio 1 weekend in Dundee I was working a stall so was in long before the public and got to see the Zutons doing a sound check probably about 5 of us watching
Gained so much respect for Dave McCabe after he joined our karaoke session on Renshaw Street and freestyled his own lyrics to West Life and Kate Bush. Very talented, sound lad! This song and performance is something special....
Your last name is an anagram of tuna and also means tuna in spanish which i think is pretty cool. So cool in fact that if a song had not already been written about you, it would need been written or something like that
Ever!!!? Wake up Kid!!! Learn some shit!!!The Clash, The Stones, The Smiths, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, Steel Pulse, Radiohead! For fucks sake kid, listen to The Beatles!!! Or Cream!!!
IGS - Impact Game Station English bands are like Black Blues musicians. Don’t support any bullshit!! Only the real! Raise your standards by listening to better music young Jedi! And that’s real. You could’ve said Queen, Oasis, The Libertines or The Stone Roses. Jesus!!
love this tune from the original time. eventually would only ever hear the ronson/winehouse version and i would long for the original. i doubt many young 'uns have ever heard the original version....
What is the compulsion to compare? Just about all versions are terrific, but there isn't anyone to compare with Amy's talent and stage presence. On those two things alone she stood above all others.
today 18 of January 2021 , i discovered that this's the "original" song, not bad, even i loved the way that he sang and his voice but i'm an Amy's FAN .. and i'd pick the Amy's cover(L
Mark Ronson didn't make the song, and the Amy Whitehouse version wasn't an improvement on the original, she was just more famous, your original version is the best by far!
As Mr Ronson is apparently so desperate to be a "rockstar" that he has taken to embarrassing himself with his less than smooth insertions into the performances of genuine musicians (honestly, watching Bruno Mars' video of uptown Funk I kept wondering who that weedy-looking white dude hanging about the back was doing - "video bombing?), isn't it about time someone suggested to him that he follow their example and actually create something original himself? Then he would have some justification in being in a music video.
As per wikipedia: "Mark Daniel Ronson (born 4 September 1975) is an English-American musician, DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer.[2] Ronson is best known for his collaborations with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Adele, Lily Allen, Miley Cyrus, Queens of the Stone Age, and Bruno Mars. He has received seven Grammy Awards, including Producer of the Year for Winehouse's album Back to Black and two for Record of the Year singles "Rehab" and "Uptown Funk". He received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Grammy Award for co-writing the song "Shallow" for the film A Star is Born (2018). " Your's wins for dumbest most jealous comment of the year!
Let's face it .. Amy Winehouse ... is how most people know it; Bruno Mars cover of AW and then Mark Ronson .. pft But you are right. Zutons .. the best, ever. Loving this [see the name laughs and winks]
I was shocked to hear him actually play a guitar, usually he just hangs around other real musicians and pretending he's playing in their videos looking as out of place as a pork lie at a Bar Mitzvah. It was frankly embarrassing watching this goofy white guy stalking Bruno and His Crew in uptown funk; he was Willis to their Fresh-Prince! TBH I reckon the sound crew've done an Andrew Ridgely at this gig and turned his volume down so it's only coming through his monitor feed! He's a parasite trying to leech some of the fame his clients have that he so envies.
Here comes the fuzz was original, I guess that's why I done nothing. But seriously, credit where credit is due. He is a ridiculously good producer of music, he's multi instrumental, and he's been around for fucking ages, 20 years or so. He's done that much behind the scenes of music it's not funny. He's one of the most talented musicians going around these days, and most often than not, everything he touches goes platinum. Josh Homme is one of the most respected artists going, do you really think he would get Ronson to produce QOTSAs last album if he's that shit? Mind you that album was tits. Ronson is musical gold.
Mark Ronson is like Brussels sprouts in the Christmas roast; annoying, nobody wants them yet they're ever present. Can't believe he still gets hired to ruin stuff and how he ruined "villains" of Queens of the stone age.
