The loop you are beating on with a hammer is a screwdriver loop to turn it. If you find you are getting water in the bottom of the dishwasher////tie the drain line under the sink up higher.

Any time there is a leak from a sink its either of 3 things. First disposal is clogged, or the sink drain and the last is a broken pipe or connection

You guys remind me of my brothers. There was three of us. One was 10 years older and the other 5 years older. When something went wrong we would fix things together like you guys. Cancer sucks. He was only 46 when he died. My other brother is married to a Chinese woman. She want allow him to have anything to do with family. At my dad’s funeral my wife said you will never see him again. She was right. Haven’t seen him since 2015.

Guys! be sure to keep that wrench looking thingy it looks like an Allen wrench but weirdly shaped...it is when the garbage disposal is clogged up to the max and on the bottom of the disposal you will see an area where you use that tool to spin the drum free....

That line is the dishwasher drain. The knockout in the disposal is critical, if you don't knock that out the dishwasher will flood onto your floor....learned that the hard way.... Good job fellas.

That whole peice on top that you was hammering the disposal on to should of been replaced as well. The whole thing was rusted and thats where the leak was coming from. There was probably nothing wrong with the disposal and it just needed new rings up top and new gasket. Basically you connected the disposal to a rusted part that only isnt leaking because the new gasket but eventually it will leak again. Next time use all the new parts and replace the top peice that connects to the sink as well. Just need a little plumber's putty at the top that goes into the sink. New disposals come with everything except the puddy. Also dont need to hammer just stick a screw driver in the loop and turn it lol. Other than that good job fellas

Oh good lord, you need to call you brother. You should NEVER use a hammer on ring. Those holes on the ring are for a screwdriver to slide through so you can safely turn it until it’s tight. Hammer + Plumbing = equals other future leaks.

Did u guys take out the plug inside the disposal in the dishwasher port? Couldnt tell in the video.... if you run the dish washer when it drains it wont have anywhere to go so it will back up inside the dishwasher... just a heads up incase you guys didnt know
