Wow. Wow. Wow. The outpouring of love from you all... Wow. I seriously could tear up. Okay, I may have already. Thank you. For all the words. Every letter. I plan on continuously listening to his music, finding more, and hopefully engaging in more dialogue with all of you. This is my first Ren song, and it won't be my last. Thank you. :) Edit: I also have other videos already in the pipeline to be released. So remember, just because you may not see a Ren video DOESN'T mean I'm not doing it. I 100% am glued in on this man! But I have other people to entertain to.
A true one off human being, just like your good self....peace and love from the music metropolis of Merseyside aka Ukraine on the river mersey since Eurovision....😊😊😊..E..
Ren is so incredibly diverse and talented. He has a pretty big catalog of songs and they are all refreshingly different. Most of them has very thought provoking lyrics as well. He is such a breath of fresh air.
This song is autobiographical, he was misdiagnosed as having a mental illness when he was about 17, just as he had won a big record deal. He has only fairly recently been correctly diagnosed as having Lymes disease & the wrong treatment they had been giving him brought on psychosis & mental problems. He is now in Canada getting specialised treatment & is bringing out a new album & new work. Dive into his youtube & listen to his catalogue he is phenomenal. I loved the fact that he you were so enthralled that you didn't pause & you gave it a chance even tho it was nothing like you were expecting it to be. Subscribing.
Another Renegade here, firstly, you will never get ‘just one Ren fan” … ever… on anything. We come as a flock and migrate where needed. Secondly, great reaction, Ren is anything he wants to be, there isn’t much he can’t , won’t, or hasn’t done. Yet there’s so much more to come. You have an immense rabbit hole to jump into and we will all be here to watch the twists and turns along with you ❤
I really loved your reaction to this gem! You seem like an introspective, thoughtful kind of guy, which likely means you are in for an enjoyable ride with Ren! I haven't looked at the other comments yet but I'm sure everyone will tell you that he has a very loyal fan base. I imagine, like me, many will subscribe to see you go down the Ren rabbit hole. They'll tell you that he is extremely talented - he can sing, rap, act, and beatbox. He is a storyteller, a poet, a lyricist, and a multi-instrumentalist. He makes his own beats and produces his own music. He is witty and bright while being deep and kind of dark. He is not afraid to bare his soul and show vulnerability. His music reflects all of that and there is something for absolutely everyone. You never really know what to expect from him which is a good part of the fun. He was ill, in pain, and suffering for many years until he was finally accurately diagnosed with Lyme Disease. He had stem cell transplants that helped him a lot but still suffers the long term effects of the damage Lyme Disease did over the years he was misdiagnosed. He has been in Canada for treatment for months. There are some great Ren interviews on RU-vid with Black Pegasus, Justin Hawkins and Knox Hill. You can learn a lot more about him by listening to them. I'm excited for you - enjoy the trip!
Oh yes. I've been told so many things in the short time this video has been uploaded lol it's only been a few hours, it's insane. But yes, I am happy to be here and happy to have found him. I really appreciate your kind words. :) Thank you. I do my best and am only me. I can't wait to see how this all goes. Yes, I really want those interviews, so maybe that can be a fun live we all do one day! I'm still new to this, still small, still paying out of pocket for all the time and equipment haha, but we'll get there!
I’m so glad I watched this reaction. Re. Has changed people’s lives(including my own). I have many chronic medical conditions and seeing how Ren includes his suffering as well as hope in many of his messages has made my life better. I get less angry now.he’s definitely a special human that needs to be supported and protected. His perspective is so badly needed. You however made me pay attention in a way that I wasn’t expecting. Thank you for allowing us to experience your unbridled joy at discovering Ren. I look forward to those live streams. I hope you’re on when I can watch. Do you have a streaming schedule?
Well this was a nice comment to read, thank you. :) I don't unfortunately have a schedule. I'm new to all this, perks of a small channel and small content creator, but trying to get there! I still have a full-time day job and all that but I usually try to stream sometime at night, usually around 6p or so at night. I think if you sub to me, you'll be notified when I do. I've actually never streamed on RU-vid before, only on Twitch and I only have a very, very tiny following over there. I may have to try RU-vid and try it out! I'll definitely get better at 'scheduling' however and put it in the Community section! :)
@@TheBlackSpeedi subbed as well. You might find that most of us are familiar with Twitch since Ren uses that for his live streams. You seem perceptive and sensible and sensitive as well. Woyld love to get to know you better. Looking forward to your journey.
I'm an open book and welcome and love any conversations. Definitely a time when we live stream, that'll be fun. I should post my Twitch to my Community here maybe and see how that goes? :)
I wrote this introduction to Ren as well as some background information when I first discovered him earlier this year, as there wasn't a Wikipedia entry for people to look him up prior to March 2023. I have posted this info to every "Hi Ren" reaction I have come across since, and I hope it will be of some use to the uninitiated. Ren is a Welsh independent artist/singer/songwriter/busker/producer, living in Brighton, UK. He plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, melodica, drums), has impressive vocals, beatboxes, produces all his own beats, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. He is considered by many a modern-day bard; he calls his music "bardcore." Ren's music videos are frequently recorded live, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. In the case of "Hi Ren," it took four takes, all live in the room, to get the footage he wanted. Someone commented that Samuel Perry-Falvey who filmed "Hi Ren," talks about the production of the video in the comments of Jonathan Hiller's (Filmmaker Reacts) reaction to the song. According to him, this video footage is not a one-take per se, but the audio was recorded live in a single take. Ren's release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren" and appears to have been filmed in the same room. "Hi Ren" is the song that put Ren on everyone's radar since December; it went viral and has garnered over 18 million views since its debut. Ren recently released a video of an older live stage performance of “Hi Ren;” it is worth checking out. However, Ren has been creating great music for more than ten years. Many of Ren's songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day. Ren's earliest recordings on RU-vid are from his time in a band called "Trick The Fox," consisting of Ren and his buddies Charlie and Tommy. Unfortunately, the band performed only briefly due to Ren's onset of health issues. They are very talented. A fun clip to watch is "The Mash Up." Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v_yBPkCY6Ok.html Ren's trilogy "The Tale of Jenny/Screech/Violet" has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy and is a prime example of his genius; it is a master's class in storytelling and also showcases his guitar skills. The three acts are haunting, and the conclusion will catch you off guard. The trilogy needs to be watched in the order given, as this is the flow of the storyline and is best watched as a whole rather than piecemeal. Ren's Hip Hop/Rap style songs are worth checking out if you enjoy this genre; unfortunately, sexual innuendos are pervasive in hip-hop and rap, and Ren makes such references in several of his songs. Check out "The Hunger," "Genesis," "What You Want," "Losing It (FISHER rap retake)," "Right Here, Right Now (Fatboy Slim one shot retake)," "Life is Funny," "Love Music (Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4)," "Crucify Your Culture," "Power," "Hold On," his recent release, “Down On The Beat (feat. Viktus),” and his latest song, “Masochist,” just to name a few. Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla ("Chalk Outlines," "How to Be Me," "Sexual Healing," "One Dance/Drunk in Love") are beautiful and showcase his singing voice. His live music videos are especially impressive. Ren's personal reflections are threaded through many of his songs; "Insomnia," "Depression," "Diazepam," "Penitence," "Dear God," "Heretic," "Dominos," his "Freckled Angels" album, in particular his song "Fire," just to name a few, all deserve a listen. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation, although it is less of a personal song than it is an indictment of greed and the resulting injustices in this world. Ren is about to shoot "Money Game Part III." Ren's performances with Sam Tompkins ("Blind Eyed," "Earned It /Mans World / Falling," "Walking on the Moon/No Diggity," "Feeling Good/Trouble So High/Masterblaster (Jammin')," "Latch," "Wild Thoughts/Crazy in love (Live Session)," "Same Old Situation (Live, feat. Ren)," "Improvising Around Stevie Wonder," "Live in the Streets of Brighton, UK," "What Went Wrong" Part I&II) are definitely a must. Also, his collaborations with Eden Nash ("Humble," "Ocean"), Bibi ("Crutch," "Ahiahiaoha"), Molly McKinna ("Penitence"), Orlean ("Jessica"), his former bandmate Romain Axisa ("French Song"), are all great. Last but not least, Ren's busking sessions with Liv Sangster are awesome. I recently discovered that Ren also recorded a cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover)," which is simply beautiful. "The Big Push" (Ren Gill, Gorran Kendall, Romain Axisa, and Glen Chambers) busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are amazing and well worth checking out. All but the drummer sing lead vocals at times. Ren, Gorran, and Romain all play multiple instruments. Ren plays acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, and drums. Gorran plays acoustic, electric, bass guitar, and harmonica. Romain plays acoustic, electric, bass guitar, ukulele, and piano. They are each incredibly gifted artists, and their solo work is completely different from each other. Well worth checking out. Their covers of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop," "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble So Hard," "War Pigs," "Roadhouse Blues," "My Generation," "Paint It Black," "An Englishman in New York," "Bongo Bong" are excellent. On "These Boots Are Made For Walking'/Satisfaction/Everybody," "Praise You" (Fatboy Slim Cover), and "What Kind Of Woman Is This," all three take a turn singing. The songs "Oh My Woman," "Swan Song," "Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," "Dignity," "Watch Out," and so many others are equally impressive. The band, at least for the time being, performed their last official busking session and gave their last concert in September of last year (2022) due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues. In anticipation of his stay in Canada, Ren prepared some music ahead of time to be released during the time he expects to be gone. He released "Sick Boi," "Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve retake)," which is another masterful work, "Illest Of Our Time," and "Animal Flow," which is out now in two versions, a full-production music video, and a live, one-take acoustic version. Ren also premiered the official music video of his song “Murderer,” and followed it up with a newly recorded acoustic live version that is phenomenal and my favorite of the two versions. His release, “Love Music Part 4” and “Masochist” recently came out, and his newest release, “Lost All Faith,” just premiered. Ren’s “Money Game Part 3” will be released soon, and his new album is due out October 13th, if I am not mistaken. Ren's recent release, "Su!cIde," was difficult to watch for me to the point that I was not able to watch or listen to it again for a long time. I was not even able to watch a single reaction to it. It is a sad, haunting, gut-wrenching tribute to Ren's friend Joe who took his own life. Ren’s follow-up to “Su!cIde,” "For Joe," is also sad and emotional, but strangely enough, it has had a healing effect on me and has given me a sense of closure. Even the lyrics that "gutted" me in "Su!cIde" that are repeated in “For Joe” impacted me differently this time around, and I am now able to listen to both songs without completely breaking down.
Welcome to the Renegade family! It's always a joy to see someone new discover Ren, and this is the perfect introduction to him. This was a wonderful and heartfelt reaction - thank you for sharing it with us! You got a new sub, I'm looking forward to more reactions!
I really appreciate that. :) All my reactions and videos are my authentic self and I truly felt something listening, I guess that person who suggested it knew what I feel. I thank you for being here! :)
Love the reaction!! Welcome to the family. Go with it... do not resist going down the Ren rabbit hole! Ren's art has touched me deeply. Recommending: Everything by Ren. He is covering so many different relevant topics. Ren gives me hope for future generations. ✌🖤
I love when a sensitive and intellectual person like yourself discovers Ren. You're in for a wild ride! Everybody is going to want you to listen to the Tales of Jenny, Screech and Violet. I personally love Power, Money Game, Genesis, Losing It, and Patience out of his solo work. He also has some amazing songs that feature other artists like Sam Thompkins, Live Sangster, and his band The Big Push. It's a huge body of work and all of it is amazing.
Saw your thumbnail that you were left speechless by what you saw and heard with Hi Ren and watched your reaction this masterpiece of performance art. You rightly recognized that this is something new, something incredibly raw and revealing from a young man with great courage and talent. Your journey has only just begun. Looking forward to watching with you as you discover over a decade of incredible music.
Why thank you, dunny. :) I really appreciate that. I love all music, and it was very easy to see why he is as popular as he is and why he has the fanbase he does. Happy to be along for the ride!
Ren is such a fun rabbit hole to go down as there's so much good stuff to check out! 😁 He's the best multi-talented artist I've seen in a long time! 💯 His writing, singing, rapping, producing and more (he is also a multi-instrumentalist) is all pretty incredible!! Had to subscribe and will be back for more Ren 😊 ~ Another parent of autistic children from 🇳🇿 New Zealand ✌️
Your choice but good follow ups are Sick Boi and Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla. Or... he can Rap! The Hunger, Illest of Our Time, Murderer, etc. You'll get a taste with Sick Boi, but anything he does is a hit. Great reaction!
I’m a little older than many of you. In all my years of listening to music, I am hard pressed to find a better song writer or performer than Ren. I have seen many super bands like Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull, but in my opinion, Ren equals or betters them all. I hope he is strong enough for what is coming and continues on as an independent artist free of greedy constraints on his creativity. This is an exciting ride.
Hey, I think we've all learned age ain't nothin' but a number! Haha. I'm an old soul myself, you should see my catalog and vinyl collection. It just misses some of us is all. I'm happy you got something from Ren, just as I am starting to, and I can't wait to see what more I discover!
I was stunned. I went down the rabbithole in April and still discovering songs he wrote and sang while i search every day. So divers. Love his character .
Bro, new subscriber here. Ren is a musical genius whose diversity is going to blow your mind. Your views will go crazy and you will get lots of us lovely Brits on board. Peace and love from the UK 🙏🇬🇧
This song is one of Ren's musical masterpieces! It's a brilliant performance and means different things to everyone! For me it's about the internal struggle between our positive and negative selves, and acceptance of both! This song was an awakening for me, a renewal and it opened my mind and heart! It also renewed my love of music because of the artistic way this was presented, along with Ren's rap, vocals, musical skills and how he shared intimate details about his own struggles! Enjoy your Ren journey as you discover a wealth of music and talent as well as a wonderful humanitarian and spokesperson! I'm a big fan, and can't wait for his new album Sic Boi to come out in October 😊🎉
He was one of the rare few people who contracted Lyme Disease from a tick in the UK. Because it was years ago and so rare there, he was misdiagnosed over and over. Lyme Disease can cause significant neurological damage, leading to a lot of his symptoms. He found a specialist in another country, got an appt, told them everything, and was finally correctly diagnosed. He’s now been in Canada receiving LOTS of treatments and is starting to make some progress. He’s an absolutely brilliant writer and musician. When I watch him I feel like I’ve just sat through a 2hr movie rather than a 5-10 min music video. He transports you. Try the trilogy of Jenny and Screech along with Violet’s tale. Also performed live. The kid is pure genius.
So glad you gonna become a Ren-egade! Enjoy the journey. His music has a duality to it. He shares authenticity of one that knows and also of one that seeks to understand. He connects two groups of people in some of the toughest topics in society - shame and guilt. Our modern day pied piper!
The strum of the last calming after the outburst of chaotic ren… amazing how it’s actually a calming after a panic attack. Of the heartbeat taking back its normal beat.
Great reaction, pal. My daughter is Autistic as well. Music is so important to her. Welcome to the beginning of the Ren journey. This guy is our generation's musical saviour. Much love, bro
I had to laugh when you asked us to comment. Dude, we Ren fans are passionate and vocal and we are legion. I'm guessing you've figured that out by now. Thank you for this amazing reaction, and I look forward to following your journey with Ren and your other reactions. Re: Ren -- buckle your seatbelt! Thanks again, and I've subscribed. P.S. - You now owe us that live; you're closing in on 3,000 subscribers!
❤I’m so happy you’ve discovered Ren…be prepared though, his music will take you on a crazy journey! If you’re like the rest of us, you’ll soon find out that he’s not only an incredible musician but also a very inspiring and compassionate human❤
Personally i would go way back and just watch him grow lol. And catch easter eggs. But where ever you start, he will always keep ya guessing. Looking forward to more. Sub earned👍
So enjoyed your review and welcome to the world of Ren! We Renegades always appreciate new reviews on his music! His music will touch your heart and make you think. No two songs are alike as you will find out! See you in the next review!
Haha I'm apart of a pattern huh? This is funny! But yes, I'm going to do SO many other Ren songs down the road, just wait. Hope you'll stick around for it. Jenny & Screech will be next per popular vote lol.
He has alot of back story info to alot of his songs! ill let chat run with that! but the second time should always be Tales of Jenny and Screech all 3 parts must do all 3 parts together! hugs all around to your reaction
Welcome to the Reniverse. I'm sure 457 other Renegades (# of comments when I commented 😊) have already talked about how amazing & multi talented Ren is, the best songs (which is every single one of them), his life story, his humanity & heart, other groups & channels - Big Push, Trick The Fox, BBB, Me vs Me etc. So I'm just going to say - thank you!!! Love it & subbed. Looking forward to more. Love, Peace & Respect 💛 Renegade
❤❤❤ get reaction. And I am looking forward to seeing you dive into the Ren rabbit hole. Always great to see first reactions to his crazy diverse and talented collection of music and genres! I am here for it!
I'm 9 hours late, and I know that the Ren fans have already come and have shared with you what an amazing artist he is. all I can tell you, is congratulations. You've come across what I like to refer to as a once-in-a-lifetime artist. Ren is the type of human being that I want my children to grow up to be like. His story is one of perseverance and humility. He has not had an easy Life by any means, and now that she is on the rise, he has not taken it for granted in any way. Instead he continues to show the world how a rising tide lifts All ships. He embodies what it is like to just be a good person. In this rat race that we call life, I think we sometimes forget that everyone else is going through things as well. We tend to focus only on us and how to make our lives better for ourselves. Ren does not only focus on himself, he is bringing up as many as you can right along beside him. And when I say this I am not referring to people that he has known and been friends with. I'm talking complete strangers. Ren is life changing. Welcome to the family and I can promise you that I'll be back for all of your Ren reactions!
What a great reaction dude 🙏 So envious that you get to explore Ren's amazing art for the first time. I will be here to watch you do just that. Subscribed 🤘❤️🔥
I first saw Hi Ren in January and I still get a thrill when I see a new reaction to it, and goosebumps as I watch/listen to it. I am one of Ren's senior fans at 66 and it is a huge pleasure to find modern music that doesn't send me to sleep. Thanks for such a restrained reaction. The second song of Ren's that I heard was his collaboration with Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines. It's very different to Hi Ren, but oh so special. I think you would appreciate it. All the best.
I just ran across you while scrolling through "Hi Ren" videos. You need to make yourself more of the screen while reacting. People are here to see your reaction, so make yourself MORE of the screen. I love your take on this track.
Aah.... our Ren. So happy that so many folks are discovering him now. This vid was done in one take on a very limited budget. He is a genius, a poet, a true performer. Both a mystery and an open book. The most determined soul, to fight through both physical and mental health illnesses. May he grow stronger and long may he retain his individualism. I was a performer for 30+ years, still a keen follower of new music, so i think i know a genuine shining star when i see one, amongst all the bland, dull stuff out there now.🌟 I appreciate YOUR appreciation of his work @TheBlackSpeed 🙏⭐️ and you didn't spend the entire time stopping the vid and talking over it.... i REALLY appreciated that!😁🧡
Dude, for a start check his cover of I Shot the Sheriff, then his duo with Chincilla, and Freckled Angels. Ren has the most healthy attitude versus su!c!de. He will always mourne his best friend missing to it. He is really worth diving deeper. And he gives interviews, too, Ren is a thinking adult. Thank you for your reactin, mate.
I love your energy! And how you paid homage to Ren by staying silent, for the most part (though I very much enjoyed hearing your voice, too). Your son must be proud of you! I love what you said about seeing things through his eyes.
Really appreciate that, happy to have you here. :) And first of all... I may be blushing, Beth. Lol. But secondly, what do you mean exactly? Like instead of the music video the big screen, make it me and make the music video the smaller window?
@@TheBlackSpeed us renegades are in it for the reactions , i personally have seen all his videos loads of times with reactors , its YOU its all about .
Hmm, you all are encouraging me. Okay, I may have to try that out in the next Ren video. Thank you for that. :) That was nice to read. @@peterwilliamson5953
Loved your reaction! Another Ren fan here, it's almost unavoidable once you hear this brilliant art piece for the first time, right? Thanks for your authenticity and kindness. I have subscribed!
Great reaction. Welcome to Ren's World. I think you woukd really appreciate, 'The Tale of Jenny and Screech' FULL version', if you like artistic endeavours with substance. Its a trilogy. You have to watch the FULL version so you see them in the right order. Pay attention to the storyline and you will be rewarded for that. Welcome aboard! 💕
This is just a tiny glimpse into the Juggernaut of Diverse Talent that is REN! Prepare to be blown away each and every time. Yes, some of his work is self referential, but lots not. He is a master lyricist, a composer, actor, script writer, producer, singer, guitarist and so much more. He has also put the 'Bard' firmly and uniquely into Bardcore. At core Ren is a powerful storey-teller and social commentator. Enjoy your 'Renification'! 😊
Coming in a little late, but as a RENegade, I also wanted to welcome you and tell you that I look forward to following you on your Ren adventures. Liked & Subbed
Loved your reaction to REN and because of your reaction I immediately warmed to you.I love people who are not afraid to ‘open up ‘ and speak of their emotions. ….especially about your son….he is lucky to have a Father like you. Looking forward to more of your reactions ….have subbed.
I saw your reaction to Sick Boi and knew I had to check out this reaction too. I love your intelligence, openness and honesty. As many others have pointed out, there is a LOT to REN’s back catalogue and his album drops in two weeks. His most recent release, Lost All Faith is both deep and a bop and showcases a wide range of his talents. Subscribed and I can’t wait to see more of your content.
Your going to have a audience now my friend. You seem very insightful and in my opinion Ren fans will have you to 3000 by next week if you react to more of him.Not only will your channel crush expectations but also I think your going to be surprised by this man's catalog. I am a old school hip hop fan and his lyrics, cadence, flow and delivery is top 10 all time. Sounds bizarre right, this man is a natural. He will enlighten and entertain you providing lyrics that very few have approached his pens genius. Have a fun run, exploring a true musical goat
That means a lot, I really appreciate that. I may expedite the process in terms of his videos over others if I truly love what I'm hearing, cause I never want to do it for an algorithm or digital numbers, you know? But yall have been so engaging, I may have to haha. See, that's what I'm talking about. Another old head in here with me. Love it. I love me a good pen, especially by genre-bending artists. Appreciate you stopping by, hope you'll stay for the long haul!
The song itself resonated on a level I hadn't felt in years. It just HIT. Like a freighttrain. What impressed me was the production of this video (and a few of his others); one contiguous take. It's not that he only took one take to record it (it took 3), but that it was shot from end-to-end, and recorded onsite. Four cameras, with the only editing being which angles were shown. He's done this with other videos (Money Game Pt. 1, Chalk Outlines, How To Be Me, and his acoustic retakes of Murderer and Animal Flow). Each one is just as impressive as the last one. The biggest thing Ren has is that his music IS connected. So many of of us watched this and went "Yes! He gets it. He gets where we have been" Though I cannot remotely claim to have been through the levels of pain he's experienced, I feel connected to his experience. Welcome to Ren. Looking forward to coming along on your trip down the rabbit hole.
Got goosebumps together with you, and a few times more through out the song. And i've seen this clip more than i can count. You discovered a gem there. Do look into the rest of his repertoire!!! RENagades ❤❤❤❤
This is the second Ren reaction I’ve watched from you and I have really appreciated your taking the time to actually discuss these topics a bit. I’d love to catch you in a live sometime and take part in one of these discussions. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to checking out more Ren with you.
I haven't done a Live in so damn long and we're for sure VASTLY overdue. I hope to see you in it as well where we can just talk in real-time and have some fun with it. Appreciate I can earn your sub and I'll see you around for sure. :)
I think what you most need to know about him is that he is extremely diverse. I am truly a RENegade and enjoy his brilliance. Sings, raps, plays multiple instruments, writes and creates all of his own songs, beats, etc. Without question my absolute favorite artist today. Enjoy your trip down the REN Rabbithole!
Rin grew to over 1 million followers fast because of how honest and entertaining he is. You should definitely look into more Ren and also his old band. The big push also a lot of Collabs and busking.
The thing about Ren... it doesn't matter what genre you like Ren has it covered. Ren creates, performs, produces, and breathes music. Ren was also in a band called The Big Push and their catalogue is also amazing (mostly covers and with them busking (street performing). Ren's health has changed the course of his music and while it was (and is) an ongoing battle for him he has used his situation to speak to the forgotten, the broken, the lonely, and then he comes out with something that's fun or raunchy or sad or haunting. He is one of the few performers that can make me cry the 1st, 5th and 10th time watching one of his songs. He's the real deal.
Really like your approach/attitude - I think you'll get a lot out of exploring Ren's work - his work is so eclectic - he never wastes a word, they're always there for a reason. he also has 'fun' tracks, collaborations and busking (street performances). Have just subscribed and look forward to your Ren journey☮
Woot woot!! New sub here, love this reaction! I fell down the Ren rabbit hole a few months ago (spoiler, there is no bottom). Ima follow along for the ride!!
You’ve a world of fantastic Ren ahead of you. He loves Rap, especially old school. Was signed by Sony a decade ago, but illness led to being dropped. Also - Rock, Reggae, Ska, Jazz and more.
New subscriber! Welcome to the the ReNegades! It's a roller-coaster down a rabbit hole. Ren is walking talking metaphoric thesaurus. Just pure are all the way around. He changed me. It doesn't matter what song you do next. They're all Bangers. I'll be tuning in.
LOVED this Ren reaction!!!!!!! Subbed!!!! Excited to watch your stuff and to see more REN reactions also. Some I think you might possibly enjoy - Money Game part 1 & 2, Chalk Outlines, The Hunger and his band The Big Push live covering I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop (this one is 🔥). Best things for me about Ren is that through all his struggles and now massively growing independent success and almost unmatched talent…he is one of the nicest, kindest, funniest, most humble people I’ve seen. Makes his art that much more enjoyable knowing that. Big up TBS 💥
I have been watching reaction videos of this song and watching his video. I appreciate everyones perspective on Ren's commentarty on the absolute answer to "your" problems. It creates the absolute pain of others. Should we be selfish (take control of ones destiny) and end the suffering of one that is me. Or should we trudge on. " My name is hope" both a truly courageous declaration but also the most painfull. I am fighting demons myself but its so very, very easy to take the easy left.
Welcome to Ren’s world. Love how laid back you are. Great reaction by the way. I subbed. Just keep rolling out Ren reactions. If you play him we show up in vast numbers. 😉✌️
Lol too young??? Bruh what you doin' to me, I'm damn near in my mid-30s (turning 34 this year). Not only that, I'm HEAVY into music of all genres and an old soul. RESPECT ME haha. I got you, brotha. What's your age!? Lol.
Welcome to ren my friend. Hes the master of the one take live never what you expect musician. Every video you eatch will be a new experience. Every song a different genre. Everything he does is genius. Welcome to the Reniverse. And welcome to the renegades my friend. Enjoy
I loved your reaction. I especially love that you appreciate Ren's artistic creativity. Subscribed... Im looking forward to seeing more of your reactions
He isn't mentally ill. He had Lymes disease which was misdiagnosed for years as mental illness. He was forced into over medication which causes psychosis in and of itself. Of the one thing I would tell you about Ren is his heart, his honor and his deep caring for other people. I think a great example is his King Dota dis comeback. Watch that and you will see who Ren is.
Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole ♥️ Perhaps check out Chalk Outlines ft. Chinchilla. Animal Flow for some dystopian Orwellian stuff The Big Push (his band) for some busking street side grooves. And maybe The Power, Murderer or Genesis. The list goes on and goes on. He’s incredibly diverse and produces his beats also. Shout out to his cameraman/cinematographer as well.
Fabulous reaction! Thank you. Whatever you listen to of Ren, the band he led The Big Push, with others, you will love it. I also recommend Playing For Change, songs from around the world - when The Levee Breaks ft. John Paul Jones (Led Zepplin cover) & The Weight ft. Ringo Starr & Robbie Robertson, The Band cover. Thanks again! Subscribed.
Oh boy, that's so many haha. You may have to remind me again of that down the road but let's hope we're successful here and hold me accountable to it. ;)
He contracted Lyme's disease at 17 that went undiagnosed/misdiagnosed for almost 10 years. Along the way he was actually medicated INTO psychosis, with the doctors convinced his illness was in his head.
The guy in the pig mask at the beginning is Blizzpig (Sean Livesey) of he band Evil Blizzard. IF you do a reaction to that band, you will see him there.
Hi Ren is autobiographical and a vulnerable testimony of one man. However, we all may have similar experiences (for example, quite many people not even realize that a simple and unnoticed tick bite can cause severe long-term psychiatric side-effects) or we may have less severe daily struggles that may feel almost like a rapid onset bipolar disease (which happen to be a real disease) by having moments of excessive euphoria and depression throughout our day. What is the most valuable message of Hi Ren, in my opinion, is a possible tool to remedy our seemingly uncontrollable emotions: learning to cope with the oppression by developing a solid spiritual (and not really a religious) foundation to ease our worse moments. TheBlackSpeed, thank you for your sincere reaction and, especially, sharing about your son and building your personal communication channel with him; Let this be a lesson for all of us visiting here: the main problem with our society is that we do listen to replay but we do not listen enough to understand.
Great reaction sir! New sub earned here. Can't go wrong with any of Ren's stuff. On a side note, if you watch close you will see his guitar plugged in and a mic on his collar. This was NOT a song played over a shot video. He actually did this live as a 1 take, I believe 4 times and chose his favorite one to be released. Was misdiagnosed for years until they finally got it right and diagnosed him with Lyme disease. Again, great reaction and look forward to possibly speaking to you during a live stream at some point. Keep up the great work. P.s. I also struggle with some mental health issues and spent half of my life self-medicating as a sufferer of alcoholism. I'm proud to say that as of September 25th of 2023 I am 6 years sober and that's only because of the help of a therapist and other recovering alcoholics and the amazing craft of artists like Ren and Dax. The latter of which you should also check out. Specifically, Dear Alcohol, God's Eyes, and Book of Revelations. Preferably in that order
Also... he Wants you to be able to monetize his video reactions! If ya have an issue... dispute it... either him or his friend will whitelist ya so you Can Monetize All his works!
Really? Well that's pretty awesome. I'm not big enough to monetize ANYTHING yet haha. but we're almost there! I think I have about 1000 watch hours to go. :)
@TheBlackSpeed You'll get there Quickly with Ren Reactions! I've seen some go from 1000 to 50K in a couple months from doing alot of Rens stuff! Of course ya gotta do other stuff too... just saying Rens a Hot Streak right now for reactors!
Oh yeah, my content is gaming, my own music, reactions (which is a brand new thing someone suggested and it's been taking off, guess people like hearing me talk lol), and other things. We're going to have a great time with ALL the things, but Ren is definitely on the radar.
@TheBlackSpeed I'm not into gaming... but definitely noticed your Intellegent commentary! Refreshing to hear! So... don't mind me... just gonna mess with the YT algorithm for ya... in hopes of getting more attention on ya! I think your channel will Blow up if ya do more music videos, with as I said... Intellegent commentary! Sadly... a large number of reactors aren't all that smart! Lol And it shows in how they comment on music, or lyrics! Even they're doing well with Ren... so... again... Buckle Up Bro! Lol Seriously... I see ya growing quickly! And we'll understand when you're Sooo overwhelmed with comments to reply! So No Worries!
Haha I keep getting that, that I'm different from other even big name reactors. And I love that. I never tried to be better than anyone, I just really wanted to put my own voice out there after YEARS of not doing it, and I'm finally happy to do it. And I'm even more excited you all took to it so well. So thank YOU for that. Go ahead and play with that algorithm for me haha. Lol thanks for that understanding! :) Can't wait to see your thoughts in the next one!
I think this reaction was amazing. The fact that you mentioned your son being autistic. Freakin mushy and beautiful at the same time. What I know about Ren is he had a tick bite and it caused him many health issues. He was signed by a record company but had to bow out because of his health problems. Either way I believe ANGELS work in mysterious ways. His gift in life as far as I can see is to help others to embrace the demons and conquer them. We all go through those times in life filled with self-doubt and other traumas this song helped me to conquer those demons and kick them to the curb. So thank you for sharing a piece of your world. That made it more personable and I am subscribing to see more of your world. THANK YOU DEARLY for being so genuine.
You're so right. Lack of communication is definitely killing the world right now. Which is strange to say; because we are more connected than ever before. But it's extremely difficult to communicate tone and body language over text.
Welcome to the world of REN its exciting and has taken me on the best journey of my life ❤ New sub... thank you 🤘🙏 looking forward to join you on this roller coaster you wont wana get off ❤
Nice one mate. Liked and subbed. Can't wait for more. You'll do more. You'll love him. Quite a vast catalogue too. You'll get a lot of suggestions; and they will all be good. As I read someone already said: Buckle up. Big love from Spain.
Probably already answered, but Ren was misdiagnosed for years before figuring out he had contracted Lyme Disease and has been working through treatment ever since. Sick Boi is about the mental health industry failing to treat the underlying problem. Good shit. Subbed!
