I live in the North, and the Angel is the biggest eyesore imaginable. Don't bother with it people.

Know what you mean, you drive up and you see that pile of rust, I much would it make if you scrap it. Lol Better of planting trees

It's not the most attractive piece of work I've ever seen and certainly has drawn much debate, but for those who only see it as "ugly", I would remind you that many iconic structures were also disliked when they were first built - the Eiffel Tower, London's Houses of Parliament and New York's Rockefeller Center are just three examples.

Gormleys Angel is a magnificent hybrid of tribal and propagandist (Russian) art; and is, for me, a symbol of Hope corrugated from the industrial sweat and toil of The Everyman.
