'Thelma and Louise' Reunion ft Susan Sarandon & Geena Davis | Entertainment Weekly 

I was in Hell Hole, California on a 100 degree day. I went to a movie theatre just to get out of the heat. I didn't care what movie I saw. I figured this movie was gonna suck. Man was I wrong! Stayed to watch it twice. Fell in Love with Geena Davis. One of my favorite movies ever to this day. Glad to see both of these gorgeous women still radiant! Thelma and Louise forever!

Thelma and Louise is such an iconic movie. Great script, score and acting. It's also one of the most beautifully shot movies ever.. incredible cinematography.

After my wife died at 30 from brain cancer, I asked my MIL, who I loved more than my own mommy dearest, if she'd like to do a Thelma and Louise with me. We were at the top of a hill at a stop sign in Seattle. I told her I could floor it and we'd end up in Puget sound. She chickened out at the last minute. I was so ready. On her deathbed, she told me she should have taken me up on my offer. Lol! Miss that old dame so much. T&L is one of the best movies ever!

How the heck is Susan Sarandon nearly 70?? She looks about 40!

This was my Mom's favorite movie, and she would drive me crazy, when she would ask me if I thought they were going to do a Part 2, I would ask her, " Didnt you just see the car go off the cliff?" Im going to say NO... and she would have all these different reasons why they could do a part 2,because she loved the movie so much, i.e when they drive off the cliff, they are dreaming, Not gonna happen Mom, what about they land on something that cushions their landing, NO mom, not going to happen, well, she said, They arent dead to me, and walked off in a huff.I can quote the lines in the movie, I watched it so much with her, she is now gone, but this movie was no only good, but reminds me of good times with my mom.

My buddy and I (straight) jumped in his convertible 68 Mustang after this movie and I said, "I'm Thelma," and he said, "I'm Louise." And we peeled out of the parking lot. First time that ever happened.

Thelma & Louise? ICONIC. One of THE BEST female buddy films EVER MADE. I've NEVER seen two actresses with finer chemistry than Sarandon & Davis had in that film. You honestly believe these two women are real and have been friends since birth. They were SEAMLESS together. NO ONE else could have played these roles. PURE BRILLIANCE. Thelma & Louise is cultural zeitgeist at it's finest.

I've seen Thelma and Louise for the first time this year and I had never felt this empowered and free watching a movie before. It's so powerful. It's one of my favorites now. ❤️

I still can't quite put my finger on why but this is my favorite movie of all time. The directing, writing, acting, cinematography, the whole gestalt of it...completely amazing!!!

My mama showed me this film as a child. She never owned films, but she owned this. It has stayed with me ever since, including the haunting, beautiful score. These women are amazing, talented, beautiful. A timeless film about leaving behind the unsatisfying material world and moving inward toward your essential destiny.

The writer , director , all the actors are amazing. I can sum it up as this was a masterpiece 👍

These two are so professional and quite stunning. I can't see anyone else playing there parts. Iconic movie that will be forever in our hearts. Friendship all the way to the end.

Love it when women like these 2 are able to put their own creativity into something that some men feel they have all figured out. Just imagine the quality of films in having solid plots, character backgrounds, history, & such added to the over usage of CGI & Special Effects in solely hoping those 2 will make a movie on their own.....

Hollywood needs to lay off the reunions, reboots, and endless sequels. The originals are usually great and even magnificent. Then their legacies are beaten to death by a barrage of unoriginal crap. Stop being lazy and greedy and make some original stuff. It's not like the world isn't producing enough material to work with.

I'm a very big fan of both of yours, as well as the movie Thelma and Louise! The part in the movie you're talking about (at around 3:30) is one of my favorite scenes! With the music playing in the background and the camera going back and forth between you... at one point the two of you smile! Whenever I watch the movie, I wonder if the smiling part was part of the script or you just couldn't jeep a straight face any longer ha ha ha! You seem to get along very well! Very natural like you've been friends your whole life! I often wonder while watching the movie if you're friends?

I think another reason for the negative reaction was that women were/are not allowed to fight back. Men are terrified when women fight back and the idea that they might be able to kick arse is not something alot of men are comfortable with.

My Favourite movie,I still think it is relevant today as when It was written,I have seen it possible 20 times,and always cry,as both the woman in the movie were victims of male violence,but the story telling,with humor,is still just brilliant.

Love the movie, love the sad ending, but I only have one question. Why the hell did Louise give Thelma the money? Louise was the strong, wise one. Thelma was the flake at that point in the movie. If you're dealing with one's life savings....I sure as hell would have guarded it with my life.

My mom loves this movie so much that she had me watch it not long after it hit video rental places, I was like 11 or 12 and way too young for it. But then again... the themes in it are so important and good for young people to see. It has affected me throughout my life, I watch it somewhat frequently and laugh and cry every time.

I watched in it the theater. I was horrified by the ending. I was young and watching two people choose to die f-d with me. This film and Boyz in the Hood both stayed with me for a few days.

The movie came out in 1991. There's no way that interviewer saw it then. I think she misspoke, and meant that she remembers when she first saw it. --- I saw it when it was first released in theatres. I was in my early 20s. The thing that impressed me the most, at the time, apart from the story, was the soundtrack. It was the first movie soundtrack that I ever bought, apart from a movie musical, and I still play it, to this day. Especially on long trips. I played it when driving from Chicago to Seattle. --- The ending is triumphant. They go out on their own terms. You feel sad that they were forced into that, but you also feel glad that they don't get forced into life in prison. --- The two lead performances are stunning. The only things that come close are the two leads in the Miracle Worker, and the two leads in Copycat (also a female buddy movie). See those films, if you haven't. I think it's time that I watched Thelma and Louise again.

What schmucks idea was it to superimpose the EW logo over the interview when there was a good portion left?

I saw it in the theater upon its release, and never did I think it was a man hate movie, or women with guns, they set out to have a little time away out of town, and shit happened. Just because it was women, they said what they did.

It's a phenomenal movie and the ending is surely iconic. Love these superb actresses and the Writers, directors and more. I find Geena Davis mutters her speech and is difficult to understand. Not articulate but still love her.

The male to female character ratio has been the same since 1946. Very true! If you look up cooking and cleaning tv commercials they are always portrayed by a female and male commercials are for building things or luxury cars.
