Them's Fightin' Herds/Fighting is Magic - Super moves comparison. 

Mane6's save on transforming Fighting is Magic to TFH is a really brilliant move. They were able to recycle most of their development data and use that to make a good fighter game with a marketable quadrupedal twist.

I love that Lauren Faust designed these characters to save this project :)

I really do think it was a good idea to steer away from mlp. Even if it was a cool idea to have them fight, there's a lot more creativity that was put onto the original characters. Stuff they probably couldn't even do with fim. Oleander is a great change from Twilight :D

I wish the "Fighting is Magic" was not cancelled, but they did not have permission from the company. But is was a pretty good move have been able to make "Them's Fighting Herd"

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. Mane6 received a C&D from Hasbro, but the backlash was so great from the fandom that Lauren Faust offered to design original characters for the game. I got to play an InDev version of Fighting is Magic at Canterlot Gardens a little before the legal troubles and I’m sad we didn’t get more than the Mane 6 in that released version.

While it was kinda sad that fighting is magic was shut down, honestly I'm kinda glad it happened. We wouldn't have TFH if that didnt happen, and I think it works so much better than the FIM. Not being limited by the show means they can have characters that trully fit the whole fighting theme, as well as being able to have their own unique style. And unlike before, they can actually gain proffit from this one, wich in turn increases the chances they'll keep support on the game as well as working on new stuff. I think everything turned out for the absolute best

Really wished Spike was playable in Fighting Is Magic instead of being left out hard.

Since the game is comming out on current gen consoles. That means they all have a chance in appearing in a cross over video game. Made by Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony.

god i remember when 'fighting is magic' was being developed (and subsequently DMCA'd, nuked, shot, killed, murdered, legaleesed, and sued into oblivion) but i never realized how far along they got with the core game

That’s so wonderful and great that they pretty much saved Mlp fighting is magic by making it into Them’s fightin herds and creating their own characters to act like the mane 6 and use the same movesets as them. I got to hand it to Lauren Faust, that was a brilliant move. And it even made it onto the switch, which is even better! 😊

Holy crap, I'm so glad they finally finished it! 😀 I remember the whole C&D issue with the original game. It was unfortunate, but I get why it happened. I remember people playing it at my local pony con back in 2013. Good times. I was excited when Faust said she'd help the development team make a similar fighting game with her original characters, but I figured it was canceled because I hadn't heard a thing in years. My fault for not following their social media, lol. The game looks fantastic. The team should be proud. /)

I hadn't seen these side by side to appreciate the similarities they kept like Twilight attacking with a book or the Hug of Death. I had mostly appreciated the soundtrack, which I was glad to see lived up to the hype set by FIM.

I can't be the only one who wants a crossover between these two series, right?

I think TFH turned out to be much better and more interesting than Fighting is Magic could have been.

I don’t even broni and I’m just impressed with the animations, dedication and execution that went into this game. Amazing. Someone got me “Them Fighting Herds” as a joke, best joke ever. :)

The quality of Fighting is Magic is still surreal.

It was kinda bad that Fighting is Magic was cancelled, but at the same time good on them because now they have their own special original franchise helped by the creator of the original franchise. Can't wait to try it out!

Both are very well done and fit the characters perfectly. TFH is far more flashy. I feel that FIM could use a little more flash, not to the same extent as TFH tho, just a little more is all.

My only memory of Fighting is Magic as a kid were Twilight’s theme being a banger and Applejack being Terry Bogard with that Buster Wolf special

Just like TFH is the improved version of FIM, I'd love to see this property go for an animated series. Not because I think it would be better than G4's show, but because it would definitely be better than G5. G4 style, headed by Lauren Faust, with a property that isn't all about making money? We could get some great things outta that. Plus the fighting game theme of the world would lead us to some nice fight scenes in the show like we'd never be allowed to have in MLP.

It’s a shame Fighting is magic is only tied to season 1…. Meaning no discord, no changelings, no Sombra, no Sunset Shimmer, hell no Spike either which is odd
