Some history corrections for courtesy: 1950s Jim crow laws were in the south butnot in CA. Those were state, not federal laws. Redlining however was established to try to zone black residents into segregation. But there were no assigned bathrooms in LA because redlining typically defaulted the segregation. Following these events, The increase of black residents to places like Compton and inglewood led to white flight, which was when white prople moved to newly developed suburbs such as Pasadena and what is now the San Fernando Valley. Similar events happened in the east coast (ie NJ)
