The main title theme to the movie "Blue Thunder" Starring Roy Scheider.Excellent and now very rare track..Enjoy one of the best scores in cinema history!.
Awesome theme song. Certainly brings back great memories from my teen years. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but whoever gave this thumbs down obviously doesn't like the classics.
Eddie Fraraccio hey Eddie, that's probably because the TVs show was kind of, well shit, and most of the ill informed probably thought that Blue thunder the movie was a pilot to the series, Great film your right it deserves more credit, R.I.P too the great Warren Oates and Roy Schneider.
"I've had twenty years in this outfit when your idea of a big time was sittin' in front of the TV tube, watchin' Bugs Bunny, and gnawing on your Fudgsicle."
It certainly is a gem of a score, the film aint too bad either, thanks for your comment.keep posted on my vids.I am going to be uploading some great old movie tracks soon..Naomi.
This number (along with Jumpin' Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones) was featured in TOP GUN The Story: Behind The Story hosted by Randy "Duke" Cunningham from NAS (now MCAS) Miramar here in San Diego, California.
Tell me how Blue Thunder would win a battle with bulletproof Airwolf? Get a shell inside it's refueling nozzle? All it had was a gun. Airwolf would shoot a missile at it at point blank range. Done.
@@EndingSummerwithRalph this is coming from a HUGE Airwolf fan but, I think BT would have a chance if Murphy does what he did in the movie of just staying in the city, remember that’s how he took out those F-16s. That was BT’s strength. Airwolf’s strength is speed and missiles in the open air. Now if BT leaves the city he’s toast.
You can go to the the walmart web site and order the series on dvd. It is about $20, and can be shipped to nearby walmart for pickup with no charge for shipping. That is how I got my copy.
@BigSteve02 The gun is a Gatling gun - sort of. In MILSPEAK it's an "electric rotary cannon". It's a General Electric M61A1 Vulcan 20mm cannon. 6000 rounds a minute at full cry. RIP Roy Scheider and thanks for this awesome movie.
It's hard to believe that this composer, Arthur Rubinstein, naturally bears the same name as that historic pianist. But in his very few movie scores, Rubinstein created synthesized symphonies so haunting and thrilling, the spine can't help but tingle, and the skin is defenseless against goosebumps.
i was searching for this since 10 years or more cause the Soundtrack to the movie was not available here in Germany. thank you so much for this. 5 stars
all right I'm researching the MIL-4 helicopter so far i only found 1 match the MI-4 from 1952 which had several models to 1967. hey thanks for the for the info.
I loved watching Warren Oates in BlueThunder and Stripes. Was just too bad that BlueThunder was the last movie he made before he passed away. RIP Warren and Roy. Oh, by the way Badalass, Murphy's character was not in the series. It was Chaney and Wonderlove.
What episodes did the charactor of Frank Murphy appear? I have the entire series on dvd and watch it constantly. The pilot's name in the series is Frank Chaney! Read my prior comment a little closer. Warren Oates passed away after the making of Blue Thunder. Warren played the role of the captain, if you have a copy of the movie, watch the entire ending credits. There is a message at the end of the credits regarding Warren.
I agree. This was my favorite movie when it was released. I now have the special edition DVD. I wish that I could have gotten the LP record of this soundtrack when it was released. I just sent you a message requesting this theme with my e-mail address. Thank you for posting.
In fact I think there is a kind of music apropiate for helicopters flying the citty in the midle of the night, no mater if those machines are civilians or militaries.
i am very well aware of Warrens death i do know what role he played and have seen the message. Im not quite sure where you found the series on dvd, as I recall there were only 12 eps made for it. I dont remeber exactly which eps as I have not seen it in a VERY long time...I do however recall Franks character in the series.. I have not seen the tv series since I was a child the last time it aired. I was very tired when I read your comment so I thought you were implying both of them.
interesting...ill have to do that then ive looked in best buy and specialty websites. for it and thunder in paradise. and Viper another hardware show i dearly loved. i have airwolf and knight rider and a some others from the 80s.. some are easy to find others not so much havent seen streehawk around have you..???
Saw this in the theaters, great flick. I wonder where the girl I was dating and took to this film is at now? Fond memories of California living in the 1980's when you are a 20 year old.
A sucking chest wound is a layman's term for a tension pneumothorax commonly caused by a penetrating injury. If you don't know what you're talking about sweetie, its probably best to keep quiet.
Iceland: I understand you served in Nam, Frank. Frank: That's right. Iceland: Two tours was it? Frank: Tour and a half. Fletcher: Why the short tour? Frank: You know what they say about a sucking chest wound. It's nature's way of telling you it's time to quit.
your wrong.... the character of frank murphy did in fact makes apperances in the series....however played by another actor. second.. blue thunder was not the last movie roy was in b4 his death.... he in fact made several others.. last one released in 2007. and his last one comes out in 2010.
Thats not totally true. Blue Thunder was a strongly tuned Aérospatiale Gazelle. Nice fact: The big Gatling-Gun in the front of the copter was so heavy that they had to place a huge weight in the back of the copter to make it fly safely.
brill film...although it had one "awkward" scene in it...especially when i was 15.......lol - I was watching it with my Dad mannnnnyy moons agao..and Murphy was testing out the new machine and he and the co-pilot where hovering outside the window in stealth mode and spying on a girl exercising nude.....eeeeshhh how awkward that moment felt - you know when you want to sink a million miles into the ground and for it to close up!!
