I remember we weren't allowed to play this game with the sound on, mom couldn't stand the sounds of constant vomiting.

You have just solved a 27 year old mystery for me. When i got this in 94 on ms dos the box art on the back always showed this mysterious tower, looked like a mushroom but no matter how much i played how much i tried I could never get that tower, I began to think maybe that's a picture from a different build and was never released, now i realise it's there but takes hours of research to get it.....Thank you! this really pissed me off as a child ha

I remember playing this game but found it too difficult to stay in a positive cash flow so I just created a theme park called 'Rollercoaster World' and used the entire land to create one big giant roller coaster lol. Hundreds of loops and corkscrews, people flying off it left right and centre.

No matter what you did, no matter how hard you tried, it didn't matter. Some reject would always get stuck!

I love how people just keep flying off of that roller coaster and still someone will ride it :D.

Was a big fan of the game as a kid. Found out a great money trick to pull with the shop/games. It works best with the nicer researched shop/games....especially the arcade. Bump up the winning chances very high (like 95%) and make the cost of the game higher than the prize itself e.g. prize cost 90, game cost is 100. The game will be played a lot (and enjoyed by the people as a bonus) and you net $10 automatically on every transaction.

Tip: Whenever you see the park inspector walking up to your park, close it just before he gets to the gate, and he won't come inside, and voila! No bad reviews! (But customers will still leave your park). 😬

theme hospital was such a colossal upgrade over this, it's incredible how much they could do in just 3 years.

I remember playing this game, and it's insane what a massive upgrade Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 was to the whole theme park game genre, five years after this game. Amazing how fast games evolved in the 90's.

Just ordered a retro pie with this on. Can’t wait to play this again, I had it for Xmas in 94 on pc. Remember the busses get stupidly long when your park gets bigger. Happy days

This game is too easy, you just upgrade the bus / shops and build your park like IKEA. It doesn't matter if your ticket price is around 200-300, just fill the buses and they will spend all their money and food and balloons/gift / arcade. I'd honestly play a remake of this game, with a slightly better system and no fireworks.

The intro with the dog begging not to be zapped is so funny for the wrong reasons

OMG wow, 27 years in the making. I had this around Christmas '96 (I was 13) after begging just because I had a neverending taste for it. I used to playing on the old Packard Bell Legend 300CD One thingI remember was when you built a go-kart track or a rollercoaster and deleted a section of track that one of the kids was riding on. That kid would go flying out of the park and go from to having the best time ever to very sad in seconds. And then the game would abruptly stop to force you to negotiate a price increase for goods or workers pay.

I used to have this on my nintendo ds had no idea it was from the 90s

On the back of the box for the DOS/pc version it shows an alternate "Castle" park front wall, i always thought it was something the developers had in their demo but wasnt in the final product - one day I found a way to access it via either running demo-park on a very specific version, or entering a code, or both. I forgot. Whatever the way - this appears to have been the only to access this alternate front-gate/wall. Random memory.

Great video mate ! Theme Park.... I love it.....I have seen your game and i have a tip for you. Look your share value....Start 19:54 End 2:10:22 you have lost the chance to make a lot of money .... Next time you'll play remember to buy the 51% of all the possible shares (expecially your park shares). Buying and selling share i am arrived at 28 MLN in my first game (1st park London , 2nd park London ,3rd park Sweden)... Then i Have bought Japan's Terrain (my forth park) for 20Mln. Now i am in Japan with 8 MLN to spend and I got best economy to make more money again.... When i'll arrive at 200 Mln i'll buy Antartic Park and I'll definetivly rip this game. If Someone don't' know it to buy shares in this game @6:44 there is the "Newspaper" botton above the "V" botton. Peace
