@@lorettarussell2823 No - I was initially at RAF Hereford, then Acklington in Northumberland where I met the lady who has been my wife for 57 years this April.
My uncle told me that when he was on leave in Southsea, at the corner of Kings Road, and Castle Road, Canadian soldiers were clearing/diffusing an unexploded bomb, which went off killing 17 of them. He missed it by five minutes.

V1 I saw it arrive, the motor stopped just as we were getting to the shelter in the garden, so from that point just above the Eastern Road to finally hit Stamshaw.
