People today really don't understand. The people didn't ask for war. It was thrown on them. And these Men most under 20 went. Salute to all who have served. ❤
My Dad,born 1921,joined the RAF in 1941. He was ground crew, recovery of downded and damaged planes of all types, including German planes. Strip down and rebuild and send them out again. Based in Yorkshire for a year then shipped out to Gibraltar in 1943 to back up the North Africa campaign. While in Gibraltar, he had taken a photograph of the airfield from a viewpoint high on the rock. Dad passed away in 2002. In 2008 i took a trip to Gibraltar and found the place where he stood to take that little faded photograph. I lost my composure and the tears rolled down my cheeks. Dad never really spoke much about his experience of war. He got on with his life, got married, and worked all his life and raised 5 children. Good man,i still miss him.
Good men of God back then, they fought for freedom in God and the great nation. But now look at this generation they are fighting for the devil this nation has left God and now worship Satan. They are letting the women be the head of a man, and letting females have relationship with females and also the same with males. NO the Lord God Almighty made the male and the female to be good and fruitful and produce offspring. Fallen Fallen is Babylon The Great. This nation is no longer called "The Great" This nation has left "The Great King of Glory" Jesus the Lord who is the Christ, that came in the flesh at his time and age, and now is in the kingdom of God in heaven in his victorious throne on the right hand side of our Holy heavenly father, Jesus is the truth the way and the life and the only way to be saved from this wicked and adulterous generation is through keeping in repentance in the eyes who him who's eyes are like blazing fire the lord Jesus, asking for mercy and denying yourself/the ways of the flesh and walking with the Lord picking up your cross daily and believing in the Lord Jesus because he is the redeemer, salvation the one I worship. Unlike this nation in this generation is just worshiping money. rather than worshiping money despise it and love the one. I wanted to join the military but surley not in this generation fighting for the wrong freedom and the devil, for greed, control, power, and that women jezebel who calls herself a prophet trying to be the head of the man and the church of Jesus. Christ is the head of the church not her. Wake up men because I am awake!!
US has killed and enslaved millions since WWII, which the US did not win, the Russians won WWII, losing 27 million people in the process, while US and UK sat on their duffs in London for two full years so Hitler could kill more Russians.
Mind Begs the Question: - When Criminalized for calling a Govt/Nation Nazi - Who use Starvation,Death Camps,Gas Chambers/White Phosphorus,Pogroms,Ethnic Cleansing, etc - Living in Free World or Nazi World?
Yes. I posted something very similar on another short video. I also said I wonder what they were thinking at the exact moment the photo was taken. I have no shame in admitting this and when I see these photos that my heart breaks for them. Though I've not experienced the atrocities they did. I can only imagine. And knowing what I think they went through does not hold a candle to what they felt saw and actually lived through. I was laughed at in the prior post. I don't care. It is how I feel. They are the greatest generation.
@@navigator600rswho laughed at a prior post? You have to realise there are some absolute trolls out there who are not representative of the majority of the audience who watch these videos. If I see people disrespecting others I try to remove them
All of those people are gone now. The way they fade out of the pictures is eerie and beautiful at the same time. Also represents the indomitable human spirit, the picture with all the rubble in the background, and now it's a peaceful quiet street. I bet those in the photos could never imagine how peaceful the landscapes would look today. I appreciate how well the photos are lined up from past to present. I see things like this a lot of times and people don't bother to line up the landmarks in the background and such this perfectly. This is well done and VERY moving. Also the music is perfect. For such a troubled time, it also brings such a sense of nostalgia.
Beautiful. My father fought in WWll . I'm 61. These pictures are satisfying to know that this is what peace looks like. God bless all the soldiers from every country that fought for our freedom(s).
Really! In which country are you from ? May he told you some great stories of his life, I'm very interested about the people at the time and there life style also .
@@Drunkenmaster632 You have the freedom to say thoughtless, stupid things so I expect he did fight. You should get on your knees and thank God every day for such men.
It’s as if anywhere you stand in these countries, you are standing with the Spirits who made you free. These videos touched me so deeply that I cry for those warriors who fought so valiantly and achieved their goal of Freedom for all.
My father passed away at the end of November, aged 96. He took part in the closing stages of the war against the Japanese in 1945. He was the ‘youngest’ of that selfless generation. We would be nothing without their sacrifices: too many of them made the ultimate sacrifice.
Where specifically did he serve? My Dad died in 2014, aged ninety. He fought on New Guinea and later on Mindinao in May of 1945, where he was wounded and sent home. He said that jungle fighting, especially on New Guinea was some of the toughest fighting of the War. Two of MacArthur's generals said, "We don't know how people can live there, much less fight."
Respect to all the German soldiers who fought and died in World War II even though they were on the wrong side they still fought with honor their courage is never forgotten 🙏
My grandfathers, uncles and some cousins were all British solders who served in army during the Second war. It broke their hearts but built them into men that then when on to rebuild Europe.
Amazing footage of before and after. Lots of respect for those soldiers during WWII who sacrificed their life for freedom. They might be gone but never forgotten. May God bless them all. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏👍👍🙌🙌
I am from Iraq I have an uncle who is missing or dead in the War against Iran, and I have an uncle who was martyred in a terrorist bombing by ISIS, and my father’s left eye does not see well. It is distorted due to an explosion near him in the war. Respect to all fathers and people who fought for their country.
My Grandfather served in WW11 These pictures are amazing It really hits home How many brave vets sacrificed themselves for us I wish the younger generation Realise how very lucky they are I for one will never forget
I get emotional when I watch these videos. Thank you all for your service and sacrifice. We the free can never repay you all. There is a special place in heaven for you and in my heart as well.
I get emotional too, your comments are very much the same as my thoughts. I'm the generation ten years after the war. The youngest of four, spanning from 1938 to 1954 (me) Only the eldest an youngest left, but so grateful for the sacrifices of my father's generation. The greatest generation of the 20th Century.
I'm thinking she asked her mum if she could take a bottle to the Allied troops and her mum fetched the best she could find from the cellar. Who knows, other than it's a wonderful photograph.
A strong respect for all soldiers we always love them is soo touching to hear the song it makes me feel sad how many have died RIP Ang for the family God Bless ❤❤❤❤❤❤
My parents were from that generation. My father was in the Philippines during WW2. I became so interested in his stories that I’ve read for decades and watched many documentaries about it. There’s still much I haven’t learned.
Sons and daughters of "the greatest generation" watching the fall, understand what duty calls of us and when. Till then, hold the line Patriots. Do not be tricked into crossing. 3D chess.
Tears in my eyes. My Dad was also a WWII Veteran - US Army. He enlisted but was kept stateside because being an Electrical Engineer at Bell Telephone Laboratories he was one of the few who had worked with a new invention called Radar. Aside from that, he didn't talk much about the war. He passed in 2013 at the age of 92. Dear Lord I miss him. God bless all of those men - from both the US and abroad - who put on a uniform in the name of freedom and liberty. 🇺🇲
I am an American Special forces combat vet, I don't have half the heart and Courage these young men had back then, WW2 was different then what we do now I don't know if I could do what they did, My heart goes to these young men that lost their lives and their families.. I have met a few WW2 vets in my life and literally I have saluted each one, hugged them and cried, I wish the world would remember them better.
@pratibhachopra5106 my greatgrand father was a world war 2 veteran he fought for the allies and was Capt.and commader of the 3rd battalion in the british army.
I don’t get flustered, intimidated, or nervous when meeting athletes, politicians, movie stars, celebrities, billionaires or many others. My grandfather trained pilots in ww2, and whenever I have met a ww2 combat vet I just get tongue tied and don’t know what to do or say. Those men are truly in a class all their own, all you can say is thank you.
Yes, they were in a class all of their own!! My dad fought in WW2, in Guadal Canal. HORRIBLE PLACE!! He had to help bury the Japanese that were killed, which was ludicrous! I think most all these men were in it to wipe out every evil, the enemy threw at them!! But on the other hand, they could be right down genuine and compassionate to the people that lived in the country, where they were fighting. My dad would have died of malaria, if it weren’t for his army buddies!! He passed away, of cancer, at the age age of 61. Never talked about it much at all, like most of the military men, I think.
I’m born 2001 23 years old and your comments made me come to realise I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to conversate with a world war veteran, probably never will now either I’d love to be able to hear it firsthand how life was for them then and what life was like before
Did the band of brothers tour, in part because of your videos, love all of them, I'm a 27 yr vet who went from enlisted to Warrant Officer, that being said this was the greatest generation.
These images and this music hurts so bad... 😔all those soldiers who were fighting for their country are gone....... And seeing them in pictures makes us so emotional.....
It's truly a miracle to be able to preserve war relics so well! Let future generations remember history and live well. Thank you to the creators of the film.❤❤❤
It's still crazy to me how people walk there everyday and life goes on but if you go into the past, there was a big part in history that happened there. Love the videos, they make me love life and make me emotional. 👍
This touches my soul my father was in WW11 , he past 46 years ago , l have so much to thank them all for , my love and respect to all services , thankyou , xx😢❤
It does my heart good to see our country again honoring Vets. Vietnam vets were scorned when they came home! It was years before I ever heard anyone say, thanks for your service! It’s nice!
It's something really important to see, the then and now photographs of people who fought. It's amazing what you did. RIP all soldiers who died in WWII.
We will forever owe those who lost their lives to protect the newer generations…it’s just ashame that a lot of people these days consider it just history and not how significant those heroes was and still are!
The music and photos are so moving, it inspires us to honor all those who fought and bled and died to save the world from tyranny, and for that, we owe a debt we cannot repay except to save the world from tyranny once again.
Background music ❤❤❤...it really takes me somewhere I want to be....those days only remains in our memory....big salute to the fallen heroes who laid down their beautiful life and sacrifice for the good cause....
You did a very nice job, you even got the distance right. You can actually see where those people actually stood ...that makes it real and even more touching. Very nicely done.
My dad fought in WWII, these pictures really touched me. I am so proud of him and wonder how many civilians he met along the way. Thank you for this collection.
I just wanna say: "to all the ancestors, whether you are good or bad, thank you for coloring this world with just your presence in the past. We will never forget you all and thank God for bringing this beautiful world for us to live in."
@@thenitpickchannel9993in some sense I'm grateful for the evil Satan for forcing us to fall and tumble, because that Loveless being that is hatred itself. Brought the world that is us Humanity to Jesus Christ by killing Jesus, therefore Jesus could die for our sins and the devil will one day be no more. Christianity will reign and there's no "reason" to fear evil. Staunchly stand up against it. Satan is what caused men Such as Adolf Hitler, Jeffrey Epstein , Jeffrey Dahmer, Joseph Stalin. To commit themselves to evil. Jeffrey Dahmer possibly died a true Christian. Only God knows his heart. I can't say he did or didn't but I believe he did go to heaven with God. But I'm not going to believe that of the rest of these men and millions and billions more. Only God intimately knows that obviously. I just want to show respect to my evil ancestors who kept bastardizing themself from God Jesus Christ. If they're in hell they choose to go there . And they cannot be saved so I do not pray for lost souls in sheol, Taurus in the earth.
That was some awesome work you did, I couldn't help but to tear up. Just thinking about all the soldiers that marched through those streets and didn't leave to tell the story themselves. God bless.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO STAND IN THE BREACH!!...Never been more proud of our men & women who daily go out and lay it on the line...Remembering u all in my prayers 🙏 ❤️ 💪🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Yes, let us not be afraid and also say that they were English, American and French. They were criminals, so Hitler came to them more criminal than them because they were countries that usurped people’s lands.
@junicohen7918 OH. They didn't. If Hitler had won, and we didn't have the bomb, what do you think it would have been like afterward? I don't even want to think about it. There will always be wars until mankind learns to respect each other and life. But they gave us another chance. A big one. Many, many babies were born after the war because people had hope. The people who were freed from the internment camps were glad we won for sure.
The war memorial was for our reminder to maintain our peace, there is nothing we can get from war its only give us tears, pain & suffering.let live with love & peace in this world .
Allied, Axis, or USSR, they all fought for what they believed was right and for a better life for those they love. Whatever side they fought for, I salute their courage.
Oh kid.... Germany didn't fought for "something they thought was right". Their terrible ideology was about "aryan supremacy" of germans and that all "unterm$nshes"(jews, slavs and many other peoples) should be at least slaves and the worst... Read about holoc@ust. Many people now dont understand how terrible, cruel and mercieless was n@zlsm.
Videos like these always bring tears to my eyes and penetrated through my soul. I want to thank to all these brave warriors no matter what side theyre on for serving their country. Because of them, we are so united now. They put their life on the line to get us to where we are today.
This I'm afraid can never be Wars that is there always be men upon this Earth that want War and People from All walks of life will Suffer the Consequences of these men ,Evil men who will stop at nothing ti invade and Conquer another's county.
During WW2 my dad was U.S. Army, Corps Of Engineers, Signal Corps, Radio Intelligence. His job was to listen in on enemy radio transmissions. Then take whatever he intercepted and have it deciphered. It's interesting, all that happened so many years ago, yet most of what he did is still classified.
The best of the best.I remember this same location when unit faced the Germans.I am in tears right now.The music in the background is a perfect fit.Keep up the good work please,I may have a chance to see some of my army camaraderie in action during that time. What you have shown brought back a lot of memories
To see the houses and the churches still standing is very touching because they are a silent witness of all the people who lived and died in WW2. May they all rest in peace.
I'm not sure but i think her hand is broken and in a cast, she has scars on her hand also scars below her knee. She is wounded from war and those Soldiers are her heroes!!!
My grandfather participated in this war by force taken from his native country of Algeria to fight the Nazis...no recognition Rest in peace grandpa for us you will always be our hero❤❤❤
This brings a tear to my eye remembering all that those people went through. Simply amazing and wonderful that most of those buildings remained. Too bad my grandpa isn’t here to see this. He fought in WWII and surely would have had a tear or two as well. Respect to those who fought and died for our freedom! ❤🥹🫡
My father and I watched the pacific and we always have this theme in our heads. I love it. To all those who have and continue to serve, we don’t treat you good enough for your sacrifice. I still hope you can appreciate me saying, thank you for your service.
I am in my 60s now and knew so many veterans, mostly American, Canadian and British. A couple Germans too. I went to Normandy for the 80th of D Day and met a lady who was a child in 1944. She just started talking to me and after 800 years and her house being bombed, still appreciated what America did for them. It was a moving experience. A few years ago I met a lady in WA state who had been a prisoner of the Japanese in Indonesia. Another at an assisted living facility who had been interned by the US because she was of Japanese decent. Sharing these stories keeps their memory alive.
I am a daughter of a WWII soldier. My father could not share his experiences with me as a woman didn’t need to know these experiences. I just know he walked from the Normandy beaches to Dachau fighting all the way. What they experienced in this war was horrific. I am a veteran, wife of a veteran, sister of a veteran and I have the utmost res for all veterans.
These young men needlessly died for nations who were doing the bidding on behalf of industry barons and billionaires alike. It was a dark time of ignorance and false national pride that left millions of families destroyed and infrastructure dismantled. That should be enough reasons.
I am 78 & the daughter of a WWII & Korean War combat veteran. These pictures move me to believe in America’s goodness again, even in its apparent free fall.
Oh My God. My father did the same. He passed away years ago and I’d never asked him why. Why did you go back Daddy? You did your part during the War. I’m sure you remember. People would say the”War” , and we all knew what they meant. Anyway my aunt who is 106 and feisty as ever. I asked her why Daddy went back. She told me, “He thought he could help.” I then realized my DUMB ASS should have known. He went back for Love of Country. 🇺🇸.
I am so saddened by these wonderful tributes because of the way we have let our Countries become. These wonderful and brave men, many just youngsters who answered the call too defend us from Tyranny. How the powers in this world dishonour them by allowing our countries too become what they didnt fight and die for. God Bless and thanks too one and all who fought and those who sadly made the ultimate sacrifice, I like many others will never forget what you gave us.
