It was an actual college study where the researchers applied to the same job posts. They attached identical resumes but one had a white sounding name and the other had a black sounding name. The one with the white sounding name was called in for an interview more than the black sounding name. A few times the white sounding name also received a higher starting pay than the black sounding name. It sucks that this happens but unfortunately it wasn’t that much of a surprise.
