My dream 911 is a 718 spyder rs. But manual, and without the vents up front. If only Porsche would build that. (Yes, I know that’s not a 911, and no, I don’t want a DeMan)
Yes! We are missing Spyder/GT3 “Tourings” with the 9k rpm NA engine but without all the aero/running gimmicks. I like the Spyder/GT4 looks more than the RS variants. It’s probably a matter of time to launch something like that, we just had the 911 GT3 ST, RS parts with stealth looks. But sales are slowing down worldwide and prices dropping, we might not have it before it all goes hybrid/EV.
I have a 1985 911 3.2 carrera narrow body sports pack, black on blacfk with a performance cam engine with 290hp and a 7200 recline. Owned for 20 years, easy to live with, love the sound it makes.
There are so many Porsche restomodders out there, it became its own car segment lmao. Like, I don't have a problem with them, but tbh I only consider Singer as the OG and the best, the others range from great to meh. The unspeakable things I would do for a DLS would list longer than the Nordschliefe
Original everything with nice fuche and suspension is all you need. The original art of the car is already flawless. One man’s tuning is just specific needs of personal. End of day, we all share the same bones and heart.
ITAWOMG wtf its not a Bond car for goodness sakes its a Porsche.Theon thinks they can rename a 911 just because they put some carbon fenders on and does some engine swap.I will smoke that ca4 in my 78 Porsche 930 a real Porsche with no gimmicky names.
stunning car, i just feel like singer have stitched up (lol) the 964 restomod thing with their original, and now the DLS and turbo and 935 tributes. guntherworks seem to have stitched up the 993 restomod too. prices for 964 and 993 have gone bonkers. maybe we need a 996 gt3 restomod and fix the 'fried egg' headlights but avoid the ims issues of other 996's?
There are way too many of these ultimate Porsche restomods. I can’t keep them all straight now. Singer, RUF, this thing…I think Magnus Walker should be the only one authorized to do this sort of thing for the sake of simplicity.
RUF did it before anyone else + they made so many of there own parts they’re considered they’re own car company…but agreed way to many Porsche restomod companies 😅
Love this 911 99.999 ..the only thing that bugs the living hell out of me are those modern clear glass headlights.. even though they wouldn't light up the road as well...I would love to see the original classic headlights in there. It's like having a beautiful model with false glass eyes.
Take any air cooled 911’ add decent modern dampers, brake upgrades and a few other selected chassis mods and you have all you need. The original is pretty much as good as it gets already. With 911’s, Less is more
Indicators under the front lights are wonky, quad pipes are chintzy, rimz are too big. There may be some nice engineering in this car, it's hard to say, you certainly can trust any "reviews". Ditto the driving experience. But it just looks a bit of an aftermarket lash up. Amazing people pay so much for stuff like this.
Useful review. Nice to have more on the car than just gassing whilst driving. Theon are on the right track which is something that cannot be said for the rather tacky Californian versions (but, these guys know the tastes of their market and how to make money...). However, as mentioned below, there are details to sort out. Carbon fibre is fine on dashboards if you have a clapped out Ford, Opel etc and need to cover cracks, careless drilling, cigarette burns etc. I suppose the fashion bloke likes the Basildon look. The wing mirrors and wheels are good. However, really wide wheels are not needed unless you are otherwise underequipped. Just imagine this in heavy rain...
