Why do people get so threatened by Mahayana Buddhism? So what if you do not believe Buddha didn’t teach about Bodhissatva’s and the like? Mahayana isn’t going anywhere, no matter how much you deny it, so just accept it.
@@Greggorious123 I think it is because Mahayana still claims to be the Buddha's teaching to reach enlightenment, which goes against historical fact and the Buddha's own words

After Lord Buddha went to Nirvana, there are many Buddhist sect established and most of new sect are different especially change from the original teaching of Lord Buddha which Phra Ananda Maha Thera told to the first Sangkhayana. So how can we set up the mind to full respect and believe the other sect besides Theravada.

Theravada Buddhism is not the original school as during the time of the Buddha there were no sectarian groups who claim to be the true school. Sorry but i had traveled a long time around India studying Dhamma. And then the question how do you know the Theravada school is the original school? had you spoken to the Buddha personally? had you seen the Buddha said Theravada is the only way? The video is good yes and very good to teach but Dhamma is not only from the Buddha. The Buddha studied Dhamma and studied himself and observing the world even the books say certain things but the books will not teach you what the Buddha taught us. The only way to understand Dhamma is to understand yourself but also to fully understand Dhamma but then we speak about Hindu Dhamma, Jain Dhamma and Sikh Dhamma and Gotama Dhamma to study these only then one can fully understand the Buddha his teachings. I am a Buddhist monk myself and studied in Thailand at the university about the Buddha but it did not teach me the Buddha his teachings, I went to Sri Lanka and Myanmar and studied about the Buddha at the university and i finally realized i could never understand the Buddha his teachings at the university nor from the books i had to travel around India and live the life of a homeless monk and not to live in an monastery. I had traveled to many places as a homeless monk and found Dhamma in India after having many different teachers as Jain monks, Sadhus, Brahmins and finally found out the Buddha he never taught us Buddhism he was teaching the people Dhamma not Buddhism in fact there is no Buddhism nor there is a Buddhist. We follow the Dhamma not Buddhism.
bhante dhammasayo I'm a Theravada follower not a monk and I could of told you that. Buddah taught us don't just believed/follows scriptures alone but lived it.
As Phabongkha Rinpoche said in his book "Liberation in the palm of your hand" : "Disparaging the Theravada for the sake of the Mahayana is incorrect, disparaging the Mahayana for the sake of the Vajrayana is also incorrect." He was quite unkind about Hinduism and Bön.
Would you rather follow the exact words & beliefs of an enlightened man historically or the extensions of metaphysical dogma produced centuries later? It doesn't matter in the end as long as we become better people.

SuperDukka You should thankful your parents and your self to been intelligent enough as person to understanding this great taught. “Come and see, if you feel/understand it’s by practicing you’ll realize what’s the truth” this is how Buddha taught. So spare your knowledge among the people who can understand otherwise it’ll be wasted. +Don Carlo Yes the contradiction of this was pointed out to me elsewhere. If we did that, then there would be NO enlightened people! I like Theravada vs. Mahayana. I hear too many "easy saves" in Mahayana, i.e. say this when you did or chant Amito's name and you will go to the Pure Land. Reminds me of old time Catholicism - do this and you are guaranteed heaven. As a monk pointed out, there are no shortcuts to enlightenment.

Islam is the true religion. The reason why there are many religions today is because overtime people have corrupt the true message which the prophets in the past conveyed. Every prophet in the past had the same message which is to worship one God alone without associating partners with him. Worshipping the prophets or statues of saints is prohibited and was never taught by any prophets. I invite you guys to read the Quran which is the last revelation from God to mankind, it was revealed over 1400 years ago to the last Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a criterion over all religion and till this day not a single word of the scripture has been changed and this is a historical fact. every religion claims to have a monopoly on the truth or on salvation - I am certain Heaven is full of well behaved well mannered atheists, agnostics, and non religious people, whereas religious zealots, extremists and fundamentalists have a very special place in Hell.
What thing the difference with Buddhist and Islam is The Lord Buddhist said "every religion teach people to be a good human in their own way" what is too many Muslim said about "kafae'" aka (Non-Muslim) ? and what they do nowadays ?
Islam is a religion of hatred. The Quran teaches you to subjigate and kill non-Muslims. Islam is a false religion. Islam claims to be the religion of peace but it is actually submission to Allah.
